1 . Press andhold "POWER' bufton for 5 seconds.
2. LCD displays as follows.
"Measuring gas fullscale" ) "Battery voltage" ) "PREPERATION" ) "PROBE/FILTER OK?"
press "ENTER" button. t "SENSOR CHECK ) ^WARMING UP 30seC'Countdown 30sec.
t "STAND BY OK' ) "Gas reading'
3. Zero adiustment
Press and hold "ZERO" button until LCD displays 'APPLY FRESH AlR". Press "ENTER" button.
LCD displays "ADJUSTING ZERO" t "ZERO SET OK'l "Gas reading".
Mode\ RI-415 is norw ready for norma\ operation.
4. Measurement
1)Lower the gas sampling hose to the sampling point (Not required for standard spiral sampling hose lm)
2) Check the flow monitor to veri$r proper flow.
3)Allow at least 3 minutes for a reading out the display.
5. Peak readinq
Press "PEAK" button to get maximum reading since the unit was turned on. Press again to retum to
normal operation.
6. "PUMP" button
Press and hold "PUMP" button until LCD displays "PUMP POWER OFF".
To return to normal operation, press and hold again until LCD displays "PUMP POWER ON'.
7 . Before tuming off the RI-415, let fresh air flow to purge the sampling system until the reading returns
to zero with sampling hose connected.
8. To turn offthe RI-415, press and hold'POWER" button until buzzer stops.
fiWAnrulNG : Do not replace battery in hazardous area.
Do not breathe exhaust gas from outlet.
Operate with carrying case in hazardous area.

Check for damage on buttons, LED'S, or display.
Check pump's flow rate using flow monitor.
Check battery voltage.
Gheck that filter is clean.
Set zero reading.

1. Fill the gas sampling bag with the appropriate calibration gas. Then remove the filter tube and gas sampling
hose from the N-415.

2. Turn on the RI-415 and set the zero reading.
3. Press both "PUMP- and"ZERO" buttons simultaneously until LCD displays "APPLY SPAN GAS".
4. Connect the sampling bagfilled with calibration gas a) to gas inlet and press "ENTER" button.
5. Once the gas reading becomes stable press "*- and "-" buttons to adjust the gn teading to match the
concentration of calibration gas, and then press *ENTER" button.
6. Calibration for YoLEL combustible range is complete.
'7. To calibrate %vol range press the "PUMP' and *ZERO" buttons simultaneously LCD displays "APPLY
SPA\{ GAS''.
8. Connect the sampling bag filled with calibration gas b) to *re gas inlet and press "ENTER" button.
g. Once the reading becomes stable press "+" and "-" buttons to adjust the gas reading to match the concentration
ofcalibration gas.
10. Press "ENTER" button to complete the calibration for the o/ovol combustible range.

TROUBLE SHOOTING
Trouble Ceute Trcalment
The LCD is blank Batedes are consumed.
Wrong polarity of batery.
Porrer buttttn not pressed long enougl
Replace batteries.
Put batteries in with correct polarity.
Press power button for approximately 5 seconds.
Pump is not running. No measurement and pump stops
running. (Disday cornment) 1. Tum pump back on. (Seemanual2€)
No pump suction, The tubing, filter, or fitting may be
clogged. Check the tubing, filter, or fitting (See manual $3 and 2-5)
Zero '0.0'%LEL of gas
display is dinking Zero point is deviated 1. Adjustzeroin agasfreearea(Seemanual2.4)
"100.Ovol%" blinking. Zero point or gas sensitivity is not
adjusted. Md<e zero adjusrnent (See manual 2-4)
V1/hen not adjus'ted to reading value, make gas calibration. (See manual $2)
