Both modes are described in the texts below.
6.Controller mode
The fixtures are individually addressed (001-497) on a data link and connected to the controller. The fixtures
respond to the DMX signal from the controller.
6.1 DMX addressing
Thecontrol panelon thefront sideof thebaseallows youto assignthe DMXfixtureaddress, whichis definedas
the first channel from which the COLORSPOT 170 AT will respond to the controller.
If you set, forexample, the addresstochannel 5,theCOLORSPOT170 AT will usethechannel 5to16 for control
(if the mode 1 is selected).
Please, be sure that you don’t have any overlapping channels in order to control each COLORSPOT 170 AT
correctly and independently from any other fixture on the DMX data link.
If two, three or more COLORSPOT 170 AT are addressed similarly, they will work similarly.
Foraddress setting,please refertothe instructionsunder "Addressing"(menu"A001").
Controlling:
After havingaddressed all COLORSPOT 170 AT , you may now start operating these via your lighting controller.
Note:Afterswitchingon, theCOLORSPOT170 AT willautomatically detectwhether DMX512 dataisreceived or
not.If there is no data received at the DMX-input, the display will start to flash "A001" with actually set address.
This situation can occur if:
-the 3PIN XLRplug (cablewith DMXsignal fromcontroller) isnotconnected withthe inputofthe COLORSPOT
170AT
- the controller is switched off or defective, the cable or connector is defective or the signal wires are swap in the
inputconnector.
Note:It’s necessary to insert the XLR termination plug (with 120 Ohm) to the last fixture in the link in order to
ensure proper transmission on the DMX data link.
