European Union Directive and UKCA Compliance
This equipment meets the European Union Directive and UK requirements when installed within the European Union, UK, or EEA regions and have the CE or UKCA marking. A
copy of the declaration of the conformity is available at rok.auto/certifications.
Power Supply Connection
The disconnecting device from the network is the mains plug. The power cord (not provided for countries outside of the U.S.) must conform the safety regulations of the
country in which the system is installed and bear the marks that are required in each case. This device must be equipped with a safety-tested power cord that may only be
connected to a protective earthed power supply.
Installation Requirements
Follow these guidelines to make sure that your machine mount box PC provides service with excellent reliability.
Site Requirements
The installation site must:
• Have sufficient power.
• Be indoors in a non-hazardous industrial or control room environment, which uses some form of power isolation from the public, low voltage mains.
• Be stored in a surrounding air temperature range of -20…+60 °C (-4…+140 °F).
• Be kept away from direct sunlight.
• Operate in a surrounding air temperature of 0…50 °C (32…122 °F) with the relative humidity of the ambient air be 10…90% noncondensing at 0…50 °C (32…122 °F).

Placement Requirements
The placement of the machine mount box PC must:
• Be at a suitable height.
• Be placed on a flat, level surface (such as a shelf).
• Be secured to a flat level surface (such as a shelf or wall) if placed in an area where vibration is present.
- Use the mounting bracket kit (supplied) to secure the machine mount box PC.
- Holes are provided on both sides of the machine mount box PC for side mounting installation and on the bottom for an upright installation
• Have at least 76 mm (3 in.) of clearance at the front and rear of the machine mount box PC.
- This clearance provides adequate ventilation, and lets you install and remove cable connections or peripheral components (such as storage drives).
• See Approximate Dimensions on page 3 to plan for installation and estimate the minimum clearance.

All I/O cables must be used only indoors.
IMPORTANT Do not expose the machine mount box PC to an ambient air temperature above 50 °C (122 °F), especially when it is mounted in an enclosure.
IMPORTANT Your machine mount box PC generates heat. Do not operate the machine mount box PC in an enclosure without the minimum clearances
unless adequate ventilation or other cooling methods are used to lower the temperature within the enclosure.

IMPORTANT The final dimensions for Shelf-mount Installation without Mounting Kit in Figure 1 are slightly larger when fully equipped with a mounting kit.
IMPORTANT The supplied AC power cord cannot be used if the power source is greater than 125V.
IMPORTANT To comply with EN 61326-1, peripheral cables must be shielded and rated for indoor use only. All USB cables must be less than 3 m (9.84 ft) in length.

Add Solid State Drives and PCI/PCIe Cards
(optional)
Your machine mount box PC allows you to add up to two solid state drives (SSDs)
and up to seven PCI/PCIe cards. Follow these instructions to install one or more
components (not supplied).
Add an SSD
1. Open the access panel door on the front of your machine mount box PC.
2. Align the tip of the extraction key (provided) into one of the two slots.
3. Turn the extraction key to unlock the slot.
4. Properly seat your SSD into the unlocked slot.
5. Repeat step 2…step 4 to add another SSD drive.
Add an Expansion Card
1. Using a Torx 7 screwdriver, remove the ten screws from the side cover of
your machine mount box PC. Set the ten screws aside.
2. Remove the side cover of your machine mount box PC and set it aside.
The expansion slots on the motherboard are now accessible.
3. Identify the slot that your expansion card will be using and its
corresponding slot bracket.
4. Using a Torx 2.5 mm screwdriver, remove the screw from the slot bracket.
Set the screw aside.
5. Remove the slot bracket.
6. Properly seat your expansion card into the slot and secure with the screw
from the slot bracket.
7. Repeat step 3…step 6 to install another expansion card.
8. Place the side cover onto your machine mount box PC and reinstall the 10
screws.
Install the Machine Mount Box PC
Your machine mount box PC can be placed on any flat, level surface or can be
secured with mounting brackets and screws (supplied) in environments where
vibration is present.
1. Verify that the mounting location provides adequate space for cables and
airflow before proceeding.
2. Determine if your machine mount box PC will be placed on a flat surface or
will require being secured to a wall or shelf. If your machine mount box PC
does not require being secured, proceed to
Install the Ground Wire (optional) on page 7.
IMPORTANT To gain access to SSD slots from the front of your machine
mount box PC, the supplied extraction key must be used to
unlock the SSD bracket.
To avoid an electrical short, height adapters for 63.5 mm
(2.5 in.) SSD drives are required while applying the SDD
protective film.
IMPORTANT If a 63.50 mm (2.50 in.) SSD will be added: To avoid an
electrical short, a height adapter (not supplied) must be
used while applying the SSD protective film.

3. See Table 3 on page 4 to determine the mounting holes and screw size (not
provided) for your installation.
4. Follow the instructions below for your selected installation type.
For Wall-mount Installation
1. Attach the Z-shaped brackets to the side of your machine mount box PC.
a. Secure two shock absorbers (supplied) to the lower bracket with two
self-locking hexagonal nuts (supplied).
b. Tighten and torque the self-locking hexagonal nuts to
2 N•m (17.71 lb•in).
c. Affix the Z-shaped brackets to the side of your machine mount box PC
with the washers and screws (supplied).
d. Torque the screws to 2 N•m (17.71 lb•in).
2. Attach the L-shaped brackets to the wall.
a. Secure the remaining two shock absorbers (supplied) to the upper
bracket with two self-locking hexagonal nuts (supplied).
b. Tighten and torque the self-locking hexagonal nuts to
2 N•m (17.71 lb•in).
c. Place the L-shaped mounting brackets against the wall.
See Figure 1 on page 3 to determine the location of the mounting holes
to be drilled.
d. With the L-shaped mounting brackets level, mark the mounting hole
locations that you selected in Table 3 on page 4.
e. Drill at the marked mounting hole locations.
f. Align the holes of L-shaped mounting brackets to the drilled mounting
holes in the wall.
g. Secure the L-shaped mounting brackets to the wall with four internal
toothed washers (not supplied) and four screws (not supplied) as you
determined in Table 3 on page 4.
h. Tighten and torque the screws the suggested torque value that is
shown in Table 3 on page 4.
3. Place your machine mount box PC onto the L-shaped mounting brackets.
For Shelf-mount Installation
1. Prepare the shelf.
a. Be sure that the shelf is level.
b. Use a carpenter square to position the Z-shaped brackets on the shelf.
See Figure 1 on page 3 to determine the location of the mounting holes
to be drilled.
c. Mark the mounting hole locations determined in Table 3 on page 4.
d. Drill at the marked mounting hole locations.
2. Attach the four shock absorbers.
a. Insert four shock absorbers (supplied) through the drilled mounting
holes in the shelf.
b. Secure each shock absorber with a self-locking hexagonal nut
(supplied).
c. Tighten and torque the self-locking hexagonal nuts to
2 N•m (17.71 lb•in).
3. Attach the Z-shaped brackets to the bottom of your machine mount box PC
with the washers and screws (supplied).
4. Torque the screws to 2 N•m (17.71 lb•in).
IMPORTANT To meet the shock and vibration specification, the shock
absorbers must be attached and secured to your machine
mount box PC with the
self-locking hexagonal nuts.

5. Align the bracket holes with the posts of the shock absorbers and set your
machine mount box PC on the shelf.
6. Attach a self-locking nut onto each shock absorber to the underside of the
shelf.
7. Check that the self-locking nuts on the shock absorbers are torqued to
2 N•m (17.71 lb•in).

1. Be sure that the main power switch or breaker is turned off.
2. Connect a twisted-pair Ethernet cable with RJ45 connectors from the 1 GB
LAN ports (see (17) Figure 3) to your Ethernet network.
3. For machine mount box PCs using the Windows® operating system (OS):
Connect a cable to an external display for initial setup.
4. Connect all other I/O cables to their respective ports as indicated in
Figure 2 and Figure 3.
5. Connect the AC power cord (supplied and for use in U.S. only) to the AC
power input (see (2) in Figure 3).
IMPORTANT To comply with EN 61326-1, peripheral cables must be
shielded and rated for indoor use only. All USB cables must
be less than 3.00 m (9.84 ft) in length.
IMPORTANT Whenever two connected pieces of equipment are far
apart, it is possible that their ground connections could be
at another potential level.
To overcome possible grounding problems, the following
bonding methods are recommended:
Method 1: Connect the data cable shields to the
equipotential bonding rail on both sides before connecting
the cable to the interfaces.
Method 2: Use an equipotential bonding cable (16 mm2 or
#6 AWG) to connect the grounds between the monitor and
your machine mount box PC.

IMPORTANT To help prevent performance degradation of
Ethernet communication, do not subject the
machine mount box PC or cables to extreme
radiation or conducted high-frequency noise. In
industrial environments, proper cable routing and
power conditioning are required for Ethernet
communication. We recommend that you route all
Ethernet cabling through dedicated metal
conduits. For improved performance reliability,
install ferrite bead filters at the cable ends.
IMPORTANT The supplied AC power cord cannot be used if the

1. Be sure that the main power switch or breaker is still turned off.
2. Identify the location of the pre-installed functional ground screw
(see (1) in Figure 3 on page 6).
3. Remove the supplied nut, eyelet terminal, and washers from the ground
screw.
4. Attach a 2.5 mm2 (14 AWG) or larger external wire to the eyelet terminal.
5. Strip 5 mm (0.2 in.) from the covering at the end of the grounding wire.
6. Insert the stripped end of the grounding wire into the open end of the
eyelet terminal, and crimp it securely to the wire.
7. Install the ground wire and washers to the ground screw. See Figure 4 for
assembly sequence.
8. Reinstall the ground screw to the computer chassis.
Complete the Initial Setup
1. Verify that your input power does not exceed the UL rating of
100…240V AC, 50/60 Hz, 1.5 A…0.6A.
2. Connect the AC power cord (supplied) to a power source with an earth
ground.
3. Apply AC power to the machine mount box PC.
The default UEFI setting will automatically start your machine mount box
PC when you connect power to your machine mount box PC for the first
time.
4. For machine mount box PCs using the Windows® operating system (OS):
Read and accept the End-User Setup procedure.

The pre-installed functional ground screw is not required for safety
or regulatory compliance.
If you want a supplemental ground, complete the following steps.
Otherwise, proceed to Complete the Initial Setup.
Use a grounding wire with an insulation color that is
approved by your local inspection authority.
We recommend that the computer circuit be supplied with
its own disconnect.
Use an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) to help protect
against unexpected power failure or power surges.
SHOCK HAZARD: Failure to connect the supplied AC power
cord to a power source with an earth ground can result in
electrical shock.
Do not allow your input power to exceed the UL rating of
100…240V AC, 50/60 Hz, 1.5 A…0.6A.
ATTENTION: (1) Do not disconnect power from the
system until after the Windows® Setup procedure is
completed. If power is disconnected during this
procedure, it can result in a corrupted system image.
(2) To minimize performance degradation and OS
failures: always shut down the Windows OS before you
disconnect power to the PC.
