Replacement
Switch off the machine and unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet before performing cleaning or
maintenance. Failure to do so may result in injury or electrical shock.
Do not touch the spindle motor immediately after a cutting operation has ended.
Doing so may result in burns.

Switch off the power to the EGX-600/400 and unplug the power cord
from the electrical outlet.

Loosen the three screws shown in the figure.

Remove the belt.
4.
Use the 1.5-mm hexagonal wrench to remove the cap screw, then de-
tach the flat spring and spacer.
5.
Use the 3-mm hexagonal wrench to loosen the cap screw shown in the
figure,then pull out the spindle unit. Insert the new spindle
unit and tighten the cap screw.
The correct tightening torque is 20 kgf-cm.
6.
Attach the new flat spring and spacer.
7.
Install the new belt. While turning the pulley to acclimatize the belt,
make sure that the appropriate tension is applied.
8.
Tighten the three screws you loosened in step 2.
When the spindle motor is run at high speed while at a low temperature, rotation may be
unstable for some time. In such cases, allow to warm up by running at about 15,000 rpm
with no load for around 15 minutes.

Running-in
After you have replaced the spindle unit, you need to run it in. Rotate the spindle with no load and with no tool or collet installed.
Follow the sequence below.
(1) 8,000 rpm for 20 minutes

(2) 20,000 rpm for 20 minutes

(3) 30,000 rpm for 20 minutes
