the finder lensshowsthe required apertureor shutter speed.
On the Rolleiflex models with non-coupled meter you can turn
eithersetting
wheel.While normally thespeedandaperture
controls
are fully coupled, there is an interlock releasein the centre of the
aperture (left-hand) wheel.To disengagethe coupling, depressthe
centre
of theaperture
wheelandturn thecentre
sothat thetwo black
index marks areat right-anglesto the loops engraved
on the outer
rim. Turning the button so that the index marks point to the loops
again, restores
the aperture-speedcoupling. Make certain that the
coupling hasengagedby turning either or both of the wheels,
and
seethat the button is in the correct position.
Focusanddeterminethepicture area. To open the reflex hood push
up with onefinger. To close, push in the sides,on E models pull
down the hood.
Turn the focusing knob while watching the imageon the screen,
until the subjectappears
sharp.Checkwith the magnifier.

pressthemagnifier

The photo-electric exposure meter built into the Rolleiflex 2.8E,

top left-hand corner of the name plate a switch operatesthe high or
low ranges.The measuringindicator is built into thefocusingknob on
the left-hand sideof the camera.
1. Set the film speedby turning the adjusting ring until the correct
speedappearsin the cut-out abovethe indicator mark for ASA or
DIN. Dots indicate intermediate values.
