YOU MAY BE KILLED OR INJURED WHILE USING THIS
PRODUCT.
Do not use this helmet until you have been trained by your
re department or employer in re ghting tactics, safety
procedures and the proper use of your helmet. Most per-
formances of this helmet cannot be tested by the user in
the eld.
This helmet is designed to provide LIMITED protection to
the head when worn during structural reghting activities
but will NOT protect you from all burns, injuries or
hazards.
Avoid exposure to ashover, collapses, falls and other con-
ditions that may exceed the protective capacity of this
helmet.
If this helmet is exposed to heat, you may be burned with
NO warning and NO sign of damage to the helmet.
To reduce the risk of injury, the helmet must be properly
adjusted with the chin strap and suspension securely fas-
tened and with all components in place.
The helmet can only provide optimum protection, when it
has been correctly adjusted and sits perfectly on the head.
The helmet may only be used in a completely assembled
conditon. Removable parts may not be employed
separately.
Never wear your helmet without fastening and tightening
the chinstrap.
The faceshields of this helmet provide LIMITED protection
only to the facial area it covers. The faceshields are NOT
intended to provide primary eye protection.
The faceshields of this helmet are NOT shatterproof. High
speed objects or large objects may break or penetrate the
faceshields and injure the wearer´s face or eyes.
Removal of faceshields voids the NFPA certication of this
helmet.
Improper use of the helmet for purposes other than those
permitted according to this user information guide can
lead to serious injury or death.
Use only accessory equipment included in the original hel-
met or approved by the manufacturer. Do NOT modify,
change or alter your helmet. Changes to the helmet as-
sembly or the use of accessories not approved by the ma-
nufacturer may dramatically change the performance of
the helmet function and thus cause serious injury or
death.
Helmets absorb the energy of a blow by partial destruction
of, or damage to, the helmet. Even though such damage
may not be readily apparent, any helmet subjected to a se-
vere impact should be replaced immediately.
Inspect the helmet assembly and the faceshields after
EACH use following the inspection procedure in this manu-
al. Replace immediately ANY part showing wear or
damage.
In case of non-adherence to these stipulations, ROSEN-
BAUER cannot give any warranties concerning the protec-
tive function of this helmet! ROSENBAUER’s conditions of
liability and warranty are not extended due to this
information.
This helmet may only be used for the purposes for which it
has been designed after careful study of the complete
instructions.
This protective helmet must be used only under the direct
supervision of your re department or employer in a man-
ner consistent with NFPA 1500, (Standard on Fire Depart-
ment Occupational Safety & Health Program) and 29 CFR
1910.132, General Requirements of Subpart I, “Personal
Protective Equipment”
The helmet is neither suitable nor certicated for uses, e.g.
as a cycle helmet, motor cycle helmet, as a seat, as an ob-
ject for standing on, or similar activities. Utilization for
such purposes is unacceptable and forbidden.
This protective helmet must be handled, checked and
maintained in the manner described in this user informati-
on and the instructions for use.
In order to safeguard this helmet against premature aging,
store it in a place which offers maximum protection against
light and moisture
All repair work, component exchange and servicing on this
helmet may only be undertaken according to the appropri-
ate guidelines pursuant to these instructions for use.
DANGER / WARNING

All activities must be logged. Only specialists authorized by
ROSENBAUER, may carry out fundamental maintenance
and servicing work, not described in this user information.
Before and after every use, each element of the helmet as-
sembly must be inspected carefully for cleanliness, tears,
cracks, holes and any physical damage. In the case of un-
usual damage (loads) on the helmet shell, the interior har-
ness, the chinstrap or other parts, these must be ex-
changed immediately in order to guarantee the dened
protective function.
Only original parts may be employed for the maintenance
of this helmet.
Subsequently applied paint on the helmet surface, or sti-
ckers not approved by ROSENBAUER, can alter the charac-
teristics of the material and are not allowed.
No alterations may be made to the helmet assembly.
During operations in areas subject to the danger of explo-
sions, the breathing apparatus mask and the helmet should
be treated with anti-static spray, or a water lm should be
applied.
The helmet shell is covered with a functional paint coating
(impact resistant). Possible damage to the paint may have
a negative effect upon the protective function of the hel-
met and should therefore be repaired immediately by a
specialist.
The visors of this helmet are made of high-performance
polycarbonate.
In extreme temperatures even the best helmet visor mate-
rials lose their stability. Deformed visors (due to thermal
loads) must be exchanged immediately. Visors are wear
parts and should be stocked in sufcient quantities.
The ear covers are made of soft, exible material, offering
limited mechanical protection only.

This protective helmet will lower your ability to feel heat.
Even though you do not feel heat you can be burned or in-
jured suddenly and without warning. Be constantly alert to
the possibility of exposure to heat and other hazards.
SIZING, FIT AND ADJUSTMENT
Before each use of this helmet, make sure that it is sized, ts
and adjusted properly
The interior helmet harness allows the optimum adjustment of
the helmet t to the head.
Individual setting can be carried out by means of the new me-
thod of adjusting the headband to the respective head size from
the outside.
The covering of the headband is attached by means of a Velcro
strip, thus allowing easy cleaning. The headband can be remo-
ved from the helmet for cleaning purposes without the need for
tools. As a result of simple screw xing at three points on the
inner shell, the complete interior harness of the helmet can be
easily exchanged.
The visor provides LIMITED protection only to the facial area it
covers. To provide this limited protection you must lower the vi-
sors fully to the detent, no intermediate position is allowed.
The visors must be stowed in the full upright position when a
SCBA facepiece is worn.
The trapezoidal shaped chinstrap is made of ame-retardant,
highly heat-resistant material. In combination with the integra-
ted padding, the chinstrap ensures pleasant wearing. The chin-
strap can be individually adjusted both laterally and vertically in
the neck area.
The ear covers are secured to the interior helmet harness and
the helmet shell by a tension strip and can be easily removed for
cleaning purposes.
You must assure that the ear covers of this helmet are down and
interface with your hood, SCBA and coat collar so that there is
no gap in protection during use.
Donning your protective helmet
The helmet can be smoothly adjusted between minimum and
maximum size using the external ratchet knob.
1. The integrity, t, and proper assembly of the helmet,
suspension system, ear covers, and chinstrap must be
checked before each use
2. Release the headband by turning the ratchet knob coun-
ter-clockwise
3. Put the helmet on and hold it down on your head
4. Tighten the headband by turning the ratchet knob clock-
wise to obtain a snug t. Never tighten the ratchet bey
ond its limits – this could result in damage of parts of the
ratchet and in reduced protection.

5. Fasten the chin strap securely and adjust to a snug t.
Never wear your helmet without fastening and tightening
the chinstrap
6. Assure that your helmet does not interfere with the seal
of your SCBA face piece
7. Assure that the ear covers of your helmet are down and
interface with your hood, SCBA and coat collar so that
there is no gap in protection during use
8. Visor
The integrated visor should be pulled down until it
locks. No intermediate position is allowed. The visor is
pushed up in the reverse sequence, but is rst secure
when tangible locking occurs.
The optional eye protection visor is pulled down until it locks
using the lateral levers. It is pushed up in the reverse sequence,
but is rst secure when tangible locking occurs.
IMPORTANT: Protection of the visor is only provided in the nal
position (end locking, no intermediate position).
IMPORTANT: The eye protector (optional) should be moved only
by using both levers (left and right) smoothly. Otherwise the vi-
sors can be scratch-damaged

Dofng your protective helmet
a) Helmet is not contaminated after use:
• remove the helmet in revers order from that described
above for donning the helmet
• Inspect each item of the helmet assembly for any dama-
ge or change in condition
• Any damage or change in condition must be corrected
before the helmet is used again
• Clean and store the helmet as recommended under
“Maintenance”
b) Helmet is contaminated after use:
Protective helmets contaminated with blood, bodily u-
ids, toxins, radioactivity, chemicals, and hazardous
materials
Strictly avoid unprotected bodily contact with any conta-
minated area of your helmet assembly
Avoid spreading the contaminants from your helmet as-
sembly to your personal belongings, your living quarters
and/or interior spaces in buildings and vehicles
Place contaminated helmet assembly in a sealable, leak-
proof, air tight bag
Dispose of in accordance with applicable federal, state
and local laws
If the helmet is to be reused, it must be decontaminated
by a decontamination professional in accordance with
applicable federal, state and local laws
Cleaning
• You must keep your protective helmet assembly clean
• Clean the helmet assembly after each use, but before
inspection
• NEVER use a helmet that is wet from use or cleaning,
Allow all parts to dry before use
• Clean the helmet shell, the visors and all plastic parts
with warm water and mild detergent using a soft sponge
or cloth
NEVER clean any part of the helmet or visor with abrasi-
ves, solvents, petrol, acids, etc., as this can have negati-
ve effects on the protective function.
• The fabric head band covers can easily be removed
from the headband and can be washed in a washing ma-
chine at low temperature (use a mild detergent only)
• Chinstrap cleaning
The chinstrap should be cleaned as required. It is recom-
mended that the hook and loop fastening of the front
over-head strap be opened fully (A).

Subsequently, the two screws (hexagonal socket) on the
lateral chinstrap xing are to be loosened (B).
Following the opening of both short neck straps (C), the
chinstrap can be slipped out and then washed in a wa-
shing machine at low temperature (use a mild detergent
only).
During reassembly, it is recommended that the head
strap be inserted rst and the over head strap Velcro
xing securely fastened. The two neck straps should
then be xed and the lateral screws mounted.
After reassembly of the chin strap make sure that all
straps and screws are securely xed to the helmet.
Inspection
Inspect each element of the helmet assembly after EACH use
carefully for function, cleanliness, tears, cracks, holes and any
physical, impact, thermal and use damage. Disassemble and ca-
refully inspect helmets that have been exposed to excessive
heat ore have taken an impact. Replace ANY part showing wear
or damage.
Helmets absorb the energy of a blow by partial destruction of,
or damage to, the helmet. Even though such damage may not be
readily apparent, any helmet subjected to a severe impact
should be replaced immediately.
If there is a damage, remove the helmet from service immedia-
tely and repair or replace the damaged part before using the
helmet again.
NEVER use a damaged helmet !
Helmet Shell – Replace if any of the following conditions are
evident
a) Any cracks, dents or deep scratches > 1mm
b) Deformations (from mechanical impacts, exposure to ex-
cessive heat, ame etc.)
Visors – Faceshields
a) Replace if blisterd, bubbled, cracked, or charred
b) Replace if deformations or other heavy damages occur
c) Replace if lens does not stay in the stowed position and/
or cannot be adjusted
Edge Trim
a) Reattach if separated but intact (ask manufacturer for
special heat resistant glue)
b) Replace if damaged
Reective Trim
a) Replace if damaged, nonreective or missing
Chinstrap – Replace if any of the following conditions are evident
a) Frayed, missing, or broken parts
b) Frayed, cut or broken stitching
c) Worn-out hook and loop parts
d) Broken, worn-out or missing release buckle
Suspension straps - Replace if any of the following conditions
are evident
a) Cut, or broken stitching
b) Tears or abrasions on straps
c) Brittleness
d) Discoloration
Head band - Replace if any of the following conditions are evident
a) Brittleness
b) Cracked or broken
c) Ratchet system does not work properly
Ear covers - Replace if any of the following conditions are evident
a) Cut, or broken stitching
b) Nomex layer discoloured, charred or perforated
General
a) Inspect carefully for all screws to be securely tightened
Retirement criteria
Your re department or employer must determine whether or
not your protective helmet assembly is ready for retirement and
replacement.
The service life of this protective helmet will vary depending
upon how much it has been used and how well it has been clea-
ned and maintained.
If you are unsure whether your protective helmet should be reti-
red, do NOT use it.
Unless the responsible authority determines that your protecti-
ve helmet is ready for retirement earlier, the over all service life
of this protective helmet shall not
exceed a total period of 10 years.
MAINTENANCE
Chinstrap replacement
As described under “Cleaning”, the chinstrap can be removed
using an Allen key and then reinserted using the reverse proce-
dure. The chinstrap is then to be properly adjusted, the over
head velcros to be securely xed and the screws to be tightened.

Visor replacement (face shield)
First, the two screws (hexagonal socket) left and right helmet
side must be loosened.
The visor should then be removed from its anchorage.
A new visor is then inserted onto the seating bolts and the sup-
ports pushed into the plastic lugs in the reverse sequence. The-
se are then secured by the holding screws
Take care that the enclosed spring washers sit properly
and all screws are securely tightened.
Visor replacement (eye shield)
First, loosen the three main screws (hexagonal socket) on the
right, left and at the rear.
Then remove the shaft of the mechanism from the ratchet knob,
before taking the entire interior harness out of the helmet.
Subsequently, loosen the two holding screws (hexagonal so-
cket) of the eye shield anchorage and exchange the eye shield.
Then reinstall the entire interior harness in the reverse
sequence.
Take care that the enclosed spring washers sit properly
and all screws are securely tightened.
Replacement of the complete interior harness
Same procedure as above without removing the eye shield
Take care that the enclosed spring washers sit properly and all
screws are securely tightened.
Replacement of the ear covers
The ear covers are secured at three points (left, right and centre
rear) to the
head band and addionally xed to the helmet shell by hook and
loop. To replace the ear covers, take out the nipples on both si-
des and on the back from the head band xings. This works
best, if the attachment arm is pressed lightly away from the hel-
met shell. Then loosen both screws on left and right side of the
helmet shell. Remove ear covers from hook and loop xing and
replace it.
Remount ear covers in the reverse sequence.

Storage
Store the helmet in a dry, clean and ventilated area, where the
helmet is not exposed to sunlight, heat or cold as this could im-
pair the protective function of your helmet.
NEVER store other equipment that is not authorized by the ma-
nufacturer inside or on your helmet. Storage of such equipment
could dramatically impair the protective function of your helmet !
Limited Warranty
Rosenbauer International AG warrants to the original purchaser
that this protective helmet is free from defects in material or
workmanship under normal use and service for a period of two
(2) years from the date of manufacture. This warranty does not
cover normal wear or unusual exposures.
This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or im-
plied, including but not limited to, implied warranties of marke-
tability and/or tness for a particular purpose.
Repair or replacement for breach of this warranty shall be the
exclusive remedy available.
Under NO circumstances Rosenbauer International AG will be
liable for economic, incidental or consequential damages or los-
ses caused by reason of the non-operation of this protective
helmet.

LIMITACIONES DE USO
LA EXTINCIÓN DE INCENDIOS ES UNA ACTIVIDAD
EXTREMADAMENTE PELIGROSA.
¡INCLUSO UTILIZANDO ESTE CASCO, LA EXTINCIÓN
DE INCENDIOS SERÁ INEVITABLEMENTE PELIG-
ROSA!
NO UTILICE ESTE CASCO HASTA QUE HAYA LEÍDO Y
COMPRENDIDO TODAS LAS ETIQUETAS EN EL CAS-
CO Y ESTE MANUAL DE INSTRUCCIONES PARA EL
USUARIO.
USTED PODRÍA RESULTAR HERIDO O MUERTO MIEN-
TRAS UTILIZA ESTE PRODUCTO.
No utilice este casco hasta que haya recibido entrena-
miento por parte del cuerpo de bomberos o su empresa
en las técnicas de la lucha contra incendios, procedimien-
tos de seguridad y el uso apropiado de este casco. Much-
as de las características de este casco no pueden ser
comprobadas por el usuario en la práctica.
Este casco ha sido diseñado para proporcionar una pro-
tección LIMITADA para la cabeza al llevarlo durante activi-
dades de extinción de incendios estructurales, pero NO le
protegerá contra todas las quemaduras, heridas y
peligros.
Evite exponerse a estallidos, derrumbes, caídas y otras
condiciones que puedan sobrepasar la capacidad de pro-
tección de este casco.
Si este casco resulta expuesto al calor, usted podría sufrir
quemaduras SIN previo aviso y SIN ninguna señal de que
el casco haya sufrido daños.
Para reducir el riesgo de heridas, el casco debe estar ade-
cuadamente ajustado con el correa de mentón y la sus-
pensión abrochadas rmemente y con todos sus compo-
nentes en su lugar.
El casco solamente puede proporcionar una protección
óptima cuando ha sido ajustado correctamente y se asi-
enta perfectamente en la cabeza. El casco solamente de-
berá utilizarse si está completamente montado. Los ele-
mentos extraíbles no deben ser usados separadamente.
Nunca lleve puesto el casco sin haber abrochado y asegu-
rado el correa de mentón.
La pantalla facial de este casco proporciona únicamente
una protección LIMITADA a la zona facial que cubre. Las
pantallas faciales NO están previstas para proporcionar
una protección principal para los ojos.
Las pantallas faciales de este casco NO son irrompibles.
Los objetos a altas velocidades o los objetos grandes pue-
den romper o perforar las pantallas faciales y herir al usu-
ario en la cara o en los ojos.
Quitar la pantalla facial anula la certicación NFPA de este
casco.
El uso inadecuado de este casco para propósitos diferen-
tes a aquellos permitidos de acuerdo con este manual de
instrucciones para el usuario puede conllevar heridas gra-
ves o la muerte.
Utilice únicamente equipamiento accesorio que esté in-
cluido con el casco original o que esté autorizado por el
fabricante. NO realice modicaciones, cambios o alteraci-
ones en el casco. Los cambios en el conjunto del casco o
el uso de accesorios no autorizados por el fabricante pue-
den alterar radicalmente la efectividad del casco y por
tanto causar graves heridas o la muerte.
El casco absorbe la energía de un impacto mediante la de-
strucción parcial, o el deterioro, del casco. Incluso aunque
tales daños puedan no ser visibles de inmediato, cualquier
casco que haya sufrido un impacto severo debe ser susti-
tuido inmediatamente.
Inspeccione el conjunto del casco y la pantalla facial

bajo la supervisión directa del cuerpo de bomberos o su
empresa de forma correspondiente con la NFPA 1500,
(Standard on Fire Department Occupational Safety &
Health Program, “Normativa sobre Programas de Seguri-
dad y Salud Laboral en los Cuerpos de Bomberos”) y la 29
CFR 1910.132, Requisitos Generales del Subapartado I,
“Equipos de Protección Personal”.
Este casco no es apropiado ni está homologado para usos
tales como casco de ciclista, casco de motorista, para
sentarse en él o como objeto sobre el que encaramarse,
ni actividades similares. Su utilización para tales propósi-
tos es inaceptable y está prohibida.
PRECAUCIÓN

Este casco de protección debe ser manejado, comproba-
do y cuidado de la forma descrita en este manual de inst-
rucciones e informaciones para el usuario.
A n de proteger este casco contra un envejecimiento
prematuro, guárdelo en un lugar que ofrezca la máxima
protección contra la luz y la humedad.
Todo trabajo de reparación, cambio de componentes y
mantenimiento en este casco sólo podrá ser llevado a
cabo de acuerdo con las indicaciones adecuadas según
este manual de instrucciones. Se deben documentar to-
das estas actividades. Solamente especialistas autoriz-
ados por ROSENBAUER podrán llevar a cabo trabajos de
mantenimiento o reparación importantes que no estén de-
scritos en este manual de instrucciones.
Antes y después de toda utilización, cada elemento del
conjunto del casco debe ser inspeccionado cuidadosa-
mente en cuanto a su limpieza y presencia de roturas, gri-
etas, agujeros o cualquier daño físico. En caso de daños
inusuales (cargas) en la copa del casco, el arnés interior,
el correa de mentón u otros elementos, éstos deben ser
inmediatamente sustituidos a n de garantizar la función
de protección denida.
Para el mantenimiento de este casco sólo podrán emple-
arse piezas originales.
Pintura aplicada a posteriori en la supercie del casco, o
etiquetas adhesivas no autorizadas por ROSENBAUER,
pueden alterar las características del material y no están
permitidas.
No se deberán efectuar alteraciones en el conjunto del
casco.
Durante las operaciones en áreas sujetas a peligro de ex-
plosión, la máscara del equipo de respiración y el casco
deberán ser tratados con un spray antiestático, o bien se
les aplicará una película de agua.
La copa del casco está recubierta con una capa de pintu-
ra funcional (resistente a los impactos). Los posibles da-
ños en la pintura pueden tener un efecto negativo sobre la
función de protección del casco y, por tanto, deben ser
reparados inmediatamente por un especialista.
Las viseras de este casco están fabricadas en policarbo-
nato de alto rendimiento.
Bajo temperaturas extremas, hasta los mejores materiales
de viseras para cascos pierden su estabilidad. Las viseras
deformadas (debido a cargas térmicas) deben ser reem-
plazadas inmediatamente. Las viseras son piezas sujetas
a desgaste y deberían abastecerse en cantidades
sucientes.
Las orejeras están fabricadas en material blando y exib-
le, y solamente ofrecen una protección mecánica
limitada.

Este casco de protección disminuirá la capacidad de Us-
ted para sentir el calor. Incluso aunque Usted no note el
calor, puede resultar quemado o herido repentinamente y
sin previo aviso. Manténgase constantemente alerta ante
la posibilidad de exponerse al calor y otros peligros.
TALLA, ENCAJE Y AJUSTE
Antes de utilizar este casco, asegúrese siempre de que es de su
talla, le encaja bien y está ajustado correctamente.
El arnés interior del casco proporciona un ajuste óptimo del en-
caje del casco en la cabeza.
Se puede realizar un ajuste individual mediante el nuevo método
de ajustar desde el exterior la banda para la cabeza a la respec-
tiva talla de cabeza.
El forro de la cinta para la cabeza está sujeto mediante una tira
de velcro, facilitando así su limpieza. La cinta para la cabeza
puede extraerse del casco para limpiarla sin necesidad de usar
herramientas. Gracias a un sencillo sistema de jación por tor-
nillos en tres puntos al interior de la copa del casco, el arnés
interior completo puede ser fácilmente sustituido.
La visera proporciona solamente una protección LIMITADA para
el área facial que cubre.
Para obtener esta protección limitada, se debe bajar completa
mente la visera hasta su tope, no se permite ninguna posición
intermedia.
La visera debe colocarse en su posición vertical cuando se lleve
una máscara de respiración autónoma.
El correa de mentón de forma trapezoidal está fabricado con un
material de combustión retardada y muy resistente al calor.
Conjuntamente con el acolchado integrado, el correa de men-
tón asegura una utilización cómoda. El correa de mentón se
puede ajustar individualmente al cuello tanto lateralmente como
verticalmente.
Las orejeras están aseguradas al arnés interior y al cuerpo del
casco mediante una tira elástica y pueden ser fácilmente retira-
das para su limpieza.
Debe Usted asegurarse de que las orejeras del casco están ba-
jadas y encajan con su capucha, su máscara de respiración au-
tónoma y el cuello de su chaqueta de forma que durante el uso
no haya huecos en la protección.

Cómo ponerse su casco protector
El casco se puede ajustar cómodamente entre sus tallas míni-
ma y máxima mediante el trinquete giratorio exterior.
1. Antes de cada uso se debe comprobar la integridad,
ajuste y montaje correcto del casco, el sistema de sus-
pensión, las orejeras y el correa de mentón.
2. Aoje la cinta para la cabeza girando el trinquete contra
el sentido de las agujas del reloj.
3. Póngase el casco y afírmeselo en la cabeza.
4. Tense la cinta para la cabeza girando el trinquete en el
sentido de las agujas del reloj hasta obtener un ajuste
cómodo y ceñido. No tense nunca el trinquete más allá
de sus límites: esto podría dañar las piezas del trinquete
y reducir la protección.
5. Abróchese rmemente el correa de mentón y ajústelo
hasta que quede cómodamente ceñido. Nunca lleve pu
esto el casco sin haberse abrochado y asegurado el cor-
rea de mentón.
6. Asegúrese de que el casco no interere con el sellado de
su máscara de respiración autónoma.
7. Asegúrese de que las orejeras del casco están bajadas y
encajan con su capucha, su máscara de respiración au-
tónoma y el cuello de su chaqueta de forma que durante
el uso no haya huecos en la protección.
8. Visera
La visera integrada debe bajarse hasta que se bloquea.
No se permite ninguna posición intermedia. La visera se
levanta de forma inversa, pero no está segura hasta que
se nota claramente que se bloquea.
La visera de protección ocular opcional debe bajarse hasta que
se bloquee mediante las palancas laterales. Se levanta de forma
inversa, pero no está segura hasta que se nota claramente que
se bloquea.
IMPORTANTE: La visera sólo proporciona protección en su posi-
ción nal (bloqueada al nal, ninguna posición intermedia).
IMPORTANTE: El protector ocular (opcional) sólo debe moverse
utilizando suavemente ambas palancas (derecha e izquierda).
De otro modo, las viseras podrían sufrir arañazos.
¡Este tipo de daños NO está cubierto por la garantía!
Cómo quitarse su casco protector
a) El casco no está contaminado tras su uso:
Quítese el casco siguiendo a la inversa el proceso
descrito anteriormente para ponérselo.
Inspeccione cada una de las piezas del conjunto del
casco por si presentan daños o cambios en su estado.
Cualquier daño o cambio de estado debe ser corregido
antes de volver a usar el casco.
Limpiar y guardar el casco de acuerdo a lo indicado bajo
el punto mantenimiento.
b) El casco sí está contaminado tras su uso:
Cascos protectores contaminados con sangre, uidos
corporales, toxinas, radioactividad, productos químicos
y materiales peligrosos.
Evite incondicionalmente que su cuerpo toque sin pro-
tección ningún área contaminada del conjunto de su
casco.
Evite esparcir los contaminantes de su casco en sus
efectos personales, sus alojamientos y/o los espacios
interiores de edicios y vehículos.
Coloque el casco contaminado en una bolsa de sellado
hermético a prueba de fugas.
Disponga de él en cumplimiento con las leyes federales,
estatales y locales vigentes.
Si el casco será reutilizado, debe ser descontaminado
por un profesional de la descontaminación en cumpli-
miento con las leyes federales, estatales y locales
vigentes.

Limpieza
• Debe Usted mantener su casco protector completamen-
te limpio.
• Limpie el conjunto del casco después de cada uso, pero
antes de inspeccionarlo.
• NUNCA utilice un casco que aún esté húmedo por ha-
berlo usado o limpiado. Espere a que esté completamente
seco antes de usarlo.
• Limpie la copa del casco, las viseras y todas las partes
de plástico con agua caliente y un detergente suave
empleando una esponja suave o un paño.
NUNCA limpie ninguna parte del casco o las viseras con
abrasivos, disolventes, petróleo, ácidos, etc., dado que
esto tendría efectos negativos sobre su función de
protección.
• Los forros de tela de las bandas para la cabeza pueden
retirarse fácilmente de las bandas y lavarse en lavadora
a baja temperatura (utilizando solamente un detergente
suave).
• Limpieza del correa de mentón
El correa de mentón debe limpiarse siempre que haga
falta. Recomendamos que se abra completamente la ab
rochadura de velcro de la banda frontal para la cabeza (A).
A continuación, los dos tornillos (con hueco hexagonal)
de la sujeción lateral del correa de mentón deben ao-
jarse (B).
Después de abrir las dos cintas cortas para el cuello (C), se pue-
de extraer el correa de mentón y a continuación lavarlo en lava-
dora a baja temperatura (usando solamente un detergente
suave).
Al volver a montarlo, recomendamos que primero se introduzca
la banda para la cabeza y se abroche rmemente el cierre de
velcro de la banda para la cabeza. Entonces podrán jarse las
dos cintas para el cuello y volver a montar los tornillos
laterales.
Después de volver a montar el correa de mentón, asegúrese de
que todas las cintas y tornillos estén rmemente jados al
casco.
Inspección
Inspeccione cuidadosamente cada elemento del conjunto del
casco después de CADA uso para comprobar su funcionalidad,
limpieza, y si presenta grietas, roturas, agujeros y cualquier de-
terioro físico, por impacto, térmico o por el uso. Desmonte e
inspeccione cuidadosamente los cascos que hayan resultado
expuestos a demasiado calor o hayan sufrido un impacto. Sus-
tituya CUALQUIER pieza que muestre desgastes o daños.
El casco absorbe la energía de un impacto mediante la destruc-
ción parcial, o el deterioro, del casco. Incluso aunque tales da-
ños puedan no ser visibles de inmediato, cualquier casco que
haya sufrido un impacto severo debe ser sustituido
inmediatamente.
Si observa algún daño, retire inmediatamente el casco del ser-
vicio y repárelo o sustituya la pieza dañada antes de volver a
usar el casco.
¡No utilice NUNCA un casco dañado!
Copa del casco – Sustitúyala si alguna de las siguientes condi-
ciones resulta evidente:
c) Cualquier grieta, hendidura o arañazo profundo > 1mm.
d) Deformaciones (por impactos mecánicos, exposición a
calor excesivo, llamas, etc.).
Viseras – Pantallas faciales:
d) Sustitúyalas si presentan ampollas, burbujas, grietas o
quemaduras.
e) Sustitúyalas si han sufrido deformaciones o cualquier
otro daño grave.
f) Sustitúyalas si las lentes no permanecen es su posición
escondida y/o no se las puede ajustar.
Ribete del ala:
c) Vuélvalo a pegar si se ha separado pero está intacto
(solicite al fabricante un pegamento especial resistente
al calor).
d) Sustitúyalo si está dañado.
Ribete reectante:
b) Sustitúyalo si está dañado, ya no reeja o se ha perdido.
Correa de mentón – Sustitúyalo si alguna de las siguientes con-
diciones resulta evidente:
e) Partes deshilachadas, ausentes o rotas
f) Costuras deshilachadas, cortadas o rotas
g) Piezas del velcro desgastadas
h) Hebilla desgastada o ausente
Cintas de suspensión – Sustitúyalas si alguna de las siguientes
condiciones resulta evidente:
e) Costuras cortadas o rotas
f) Rasgaduras o abrasiones en las cintas
g) Fragilidad
h) Decoloración

Criterios para la retirada del servicio
El cuerpo de bomberos o su empresa deberán decidir si su cas-
co protector completo está o no en condiciones para ser retira-
do del servicio y sustituido.
La duración del tiempo de servicio útil de este casco protector
varía dependiendo de lo mucho que haya sido utilizado y de
cómo de bien ha sido limpiado y cuidado.
Si no está Usted seguro de si su casco protector debe ser reti-
rado o no, NO lo utilice.
A menos que una autoridad competente determine con anterio-
ridad que su casco protector está ya en condiciones de ser re-
tirado del servicio, el tiempo de servicio útil total de este casco
protector no deberá exceder de un período total de 10 años.
MANTENIMIENTO
Sustitución del correa de mentón
Tal como se describe en “Limpieza”, el correa de mentón puede
extraerse utilizando una llave Allen y luego volver a ser colocado
con el procedimiento inverso. El correa de mentón debe a con-
tinuación ajustarse correctamente, abrocharse rmemente los
velcros de la banda para la cabeza y apretarse bien los
tornillos.
Sustitución de la visera (pantalla facial)
En primer lugar, deben aojarse los dos tornillos (con hueco he-
xagonal) en los lados izquierdo y derecho del casco.
Entonces podrá separarse la visera de su anclaje.
A continuación, y en orden inverso, se insertará una visera nue-
va en los pernos de asiento y se introducirán los soportes en las
guías de arrastre de plástico. Éstas se asegurarán entonces me-
diante los tornillos de sujeción.
Tenga cuidado de que las arandelas de resorte integra-
das estén correctamente colocadas y que todos los tornillos
estén rmemente apretados.
Sustitución de la visera (pantalla ocular)
En primer lugar, aoje los tres tornillos principales (con hueco
hexagonal) a la derecha, izquierda y atrás.
A continuación extraiga el eje del mecanismo del trinquete gira-
torio, antes de sacar del casco todo el arnés interior.
Después, aoje los dos tornillos de sujeción (con hueco hexa-
gonal) del anclaje de la pantalla ocular y cambie la pantalla
ocular.
A continuación, vuelva a montar el arnés interior entero, en or-
den inverso.
Tenga cuidado de que las arandelas de resorte integra-
das estén correctamente colocadas y que todos los tornillos
estén rmemente apretados.
Sustitución del arnés interior completo
Siga el mismo procedimiento anterior, pero sin quitar la pantalla
ocular.

Sustitución de las orejeras
Las orejeras están aseguradas en tres puntos (derecha, izquier-
da y atrás en el centro) a la banda para la cabeza, y jadas adi-
cionalmente a la copa del casco mediante un velcro. Para susti-
tuir las orejeras, separe los niples a ambos lados y atrás de las
jaciones de la banda para la cabeza. Esto resulta más fácil si
se tira ligeramente del brazo de montaje para apartarlo de la
copa del casco. Entonces, aoje ambos tornillos en los lados
izquierdo y derecho de la copa del casco. Separe las orejeras
de la jación por velcro y sustitúyalas.
Vuelva a montar las orejeras en orden inverso.

Almacenamiento
Almacene el casco en un lugar seco, limpio y ventilado, donde
el casco no esté expuesto a la luz solar, calor o frío, dado que
esto podría perjudicar la función de protección de su casco.
NUNCA almacene ningún otro equipo que no esté autorizado
por el fabricante dentro o sobre su casco. ¡Almacenar tales
equipos podría perjudicar gravemente la función protectora de
su casco!
Garantía Limitada
Rosenbauer International AG garantiza al comprador original
que este casco de protección está libre de defectos de materi-
ales o manufactura bajo condiciones normales de uso y mante-
nimiento, durante un periodo de dos (2) años desde la fecha de
compra. Esta garantía no cubre el desgaste normal o circun-
stancias inusuales.
Esta garantía sustituye a cualquier otra garantía, explícita o im-
