2
Q: Does the LumeCel™ AutoFoam operate in the same way as
the standard AutoFoam?
A: Yes, with the proper lighting levels, the LumeCel™ AutoFoam has
all the same functions and performance of the standard dispenser, but
with the added advantage of never needing to purchase, store,
replace and dispose of alkaline batteries.
Q: Will the dispenser work immediately when first installed?
A: Yes, the LumeCel™ AutoFoam dispenser arrives charged and will
work immediately once properly installed.

Q: How much light does the dispenser need to operate?
A: We have developed a consistent and easy way to detect and confirm
lighting levels with the new LUX Detector. First, flip the switch right to Install
Mode. If 3 beeps or more are heard, the dispenser is positioned in a place
that receives enough light to operate properly. The dispenser needs 67.5
hours of light spread out any time over a 7-day week, which equates to 13.5
hours per day for a facility on a 5-day work week. See table below.

Q: Will the LumeCel™ AutoFoam work in an environment that
has motion sensor lighting?
A: No, generally this is not adequate lighting, and the LumeCel™
AutoFoam dispenser will not function properly.A minimum amount of
light per week is required. See table above.
Q: What if I hear no beeps when I flip the LUX Detector switch
right to Install Mode?
A: The dispenser is not receiving enough light to operate. Relocate to
a brighter location until 3 beeps or more are heard. Then be sure to
flip the switch left back to Run Mode.

Q: What if I leave the LUX Detector switch in Install Mode?
A: The dispenser will not function properly. Be sure to flip the switch
left back to Run Mode.
Q: What should I do if the LED Indicator flashes yellow?
A: At this time, the dispenser is not receiving enough light and needs
to be relocated to a brighter location. Flip the LUX Detector switch
right to Install Mode in order to detect and confirm lighting levels. If 3
beeps or more are heard, the dispenser is positioned in a place that
receives enough light to operate properly.

Q: What is the warranty?
A: It is the same as the standardAutoFoam, 3-year limited warranty.
See rubbermaidcommercial.com for details.
Q: What type of maintenance is required?
A: Wipe down the LumeCel™ AutoFoam dispenser weekly with a
damp cloth to keep the solar panels free of dust and dirt. The
dispenser is not intended for restrooms that are sprayed down with
running water.

7
Q: Are there any concerns with storage?
A: As with all energy cells, rotate stock to use oldest product first. See
instructions for storage temperature guidelines.
Q: How many alkaline batteries will I save over a life time by
changing to LumeCel™?
A: It depends on how frequently you were changing them in the past,
but savings will be realized in the reduced need to purchase, store,
replace and dispose of batteries.

8
Q: Is this a Lithium-ion battery?
A: No, the LumeCel™ rechargeable energy cell is from the same
family as nickel metal hydride, which has been specifically engineered
for this application.
Q: What about Li-ion?
A: In this application, nickel-metal hydride LSD (Low Self Discharge)
is used, and unlike Li-ion, it does not need energy consuming control
electronics for safety.

9
Q: What about memory effect of Ni-Mh batteries?
A: The Ni-Mh technology is designed to reduce memory effect for
optimal performance.
Q: What happens to the dispenser at the end of its lifetime?
A: Some recycling centers will disassemble the LumeCel™ AutoFoam
dispenser into recyclable parts. Check with your local recycling center
for more details.
