These instructions contain important remarks and warnings that, if not
observed, can lead to serious personal injuries or system damage.
Please ensure that you read these instructions carefully before commis-
sioning the REG Switch LWL. The correct transport, storage and installa-
tion as well as careful operation and maintenance of the device is decisive
for safe operation of the device.
Power supply
The REG Switch LWL was designed for SELV (Safety Extra Low Voltage)
operation and must be supplied in a SELV-compliant manner in accord-
ance with IEC 60950-1/EN60950-1/VDE0805-1.
Laser equipment safety
The device contains LED or LASER components according to IEC 60825-1
(2007): Class 1 Laser / LED Product.
Do not look into the optical transceiver beam using optical
instruments (e.g. lenses, microscope). Failure to observe
this warning can lead to eye damage.
Housing temperature
The housing can reach temperatures of above 70 °C if the REG Switch
LWL is used in ambient temperatures in excess of 50 °C. In such cases,
the device must then be operated in a sealed area that may only be
accessed by the service personnel or users that have been informed
of the reasons for this restriction as well as the required precautions
when operating the device in temperatures above 50 °C.
Intended use
The REG Switch LWL may only be used according to the descriptions
contained in the instructions. The device may only be used provided that
it is in a flawless condition and in the stated ambient conditions. Do not
use the device for any other purpose and ensure that it is only used
indoors.
Only use certified cables. Other cables may cause malfunctions
or lead to the destruction of the devices.
Disposal
The device may not be disposed of with standard domestic waste. The
national and regional disposal regulations must be observed.
General Information
The device is an industrial Ethernet switch to be installed
in electrical installation distributors according to DIN
43880.
It enables the expansion of LWL Ethernet structures –
single or multimode (2 x SC Duplex / 2 x RJ45).
LED
The LEDs for the respective RJ45 connection (A) or
respective LWL connection (B) as well as the supply
voltage (C) have the following meanings:

Spannungsversorgung
Das REG-Switch LWL wurde für den Betrieb mit SELV (Safety Extra Low
Voltage) konzipiert und muss gemäß IEC 60950-1/EN60950-1/VDE0805-1
SELV-konform versorgt werden.
Sicherheit von Lasereinrichtungen
Das Gerät enthält LED- oder LASER-Komponenten nach IEC 60825-1
(2007): Klasse 1 Laser / LED-Produkt.
Nicht mit optischen Instrumenten (z.B. Linsen, Mikroskop)
in den Strahl der optischen Transceiver sehen! Missach-
tung dieser Warnung kann zu Augenschäden führen.
Gehäusetemperatur
Wenn das REG-Switch LWL bei Umgebungstemperaturen von über 50 °C
betrieben wird, kann die Temperatur des Gehäuses mehr als 70 °C
betragen. Das Gerät muss dann in einem abgeschlossenen Bereich
betrieben werden, der nur dem Service-Personal zugänglich ist oder
Benutzern, die über die Gründe dieser Einschränkung und über not-
wendige Vorkehrungen beim Betrieb über 50 °C informiert wurden.
Bestimmungsgemäßer Gebrauch
Das REG-Switch LWL darf nur wie in der Anleitung beschrieben verwendet
werden. Es darf nur unbeschädigt und unter den angegebenen Umweltbe-
dingungen eingesetzt werden. Betreiben Sie das Gerät zu keinem ande-
ren Zweck und nur in Innenräumen.
Verwenden Sie nur zertifizierte Kabel. Andere Kabel können
Fehlfunktionen verursachen oder zur Zerstörung der Geräte
führen.
Entsorgung
Das Gerät darf nicht über den normalen Hausmüll entsorgt werden – halten
Sie die nationalen und regionalen Vorschriften zur Entsorgung ein.
Allgemeines
Das Gerät ist ein industrielles Ethernet-Switch für den Ein-
bau in Elektroinstallationsverteilern nach DIN 43880.
Es ermöglicht den Aufbau von LWL-Ethernet-Strukturen –
Single- bzw. Multimode (2 x SC Duplex / 2 x RJ45).

Die LEDs für den jeweiligen RJ45 Anschluss (A) bzw. für
den jeweiligen LWL Anschluss (B) sowie für die Span-
nungsversorgung (C) haben folgende Bedeutung:

Anschluss SELV-Spannungsversorgung
Gehen Sie beim Anschluss einer DC Spannungsversor-
gung folgendermaßen vor:
1 Achten Sie auf die richtige Polung:
PWR1 = +
und
PWR2 = – .
Fehlerrelais
Die Abbildung 3 zeigt den Relaiskontakt im Fehlerfall:
Mögliche Fehler sind z.B. fehlende Versorgungsversor-
gung oder Fehlfunktionen – diese werden auf anderen
Systemen/Geräten angezeigt.
