Introduction
This manual describes how to install the external
safety clips for G36 fifth wheels.
IMPORTANT: Keep this manual in a safe location for
future reference.
Notes, Cautions and Warnings
You must read and understand all of the procedures
presented before starting work. Failure to follow
all of the procedures contained in these instructions
may result in a hazardous condition or cause a
hazardous condition to develop.
Other company-specific and workshop procedures,
as set by applicable regulations, must be followed.
Proper tools must be used to perform the
maintenance and repair procedures described in this
manual.
Throughout this manual, you will notice the
terms “NOTE,” “IMPORTANT,” “CAUTION,”
and “WARNING” followed by useful product
information.
So that you may better understand the manual,

information that can help prevent serious personal
injury, damage to components, or both.
Installations must be performed by a trained
technician using proper tools and safe procedures.

It is recommended to conduct a:

Pre inspection of the fifth wheel
•
Check for no damaged parts
•
Ensure correct mechanical function of working
components
•
Replace any parts as required, prior to installing
the Safety Clip
This manual contains procedures to install the
external safety clips for G36 Fifth Wheels.
Be aware of pinch points during
removal & refitment.
Before attempting any replacement procedures you
must read and understand the following:
DO NOT attempt to replace components on any fifth
wheel without following the instructions contained
in this manual.
DO NOT modify, change, or add to the product. Use
only genuine SAF-HOLLAND parts.
Perform all procedures in a lighted area clear of
obstacles and other personnel.
Always wear safety glasses during removal,
installation, or service procedures. DO NOT strike
any part of the product with a steel hammer.
Observe standard precautions when lifting.
Always verify proper operation and adjust the fifth
wheel following the procedures contained in the
owner’s manual and service literature before placing
back in service.
