WARNING: Cycling can be dangerous. Bicycle products
should be installed and serviced by a professional mechanic.
Never modify your bicycle or accessories. Read and follow all
product instructions and warnings including information on the
manufacturer’s website. Inspect your bicycle before every ride.
Always wear a helmet.
Intended Use
The EXP Series Direct Mount Top Tube Bag is designed to provide
quick access to smaller items like food, phones, or tools, etc.,
on the top tube of the frame near the stem.
Intended for ASTM 4 conditions defined as downhill
grades on rough trails at speeds less than 40 km/h
(25 mph). Jumps are intended to be less than
122 cm (48”).
Tools
• 5 mm hex wrench
• Torque wrench that measures in Nm
Installation Instructions
For Frames with Direct Mount Attachment:
1. Remove the M5 bolts on the top tube of the frame near
the stem.
2. Press 4 mm long spacers into the middle of each rubber disc
insert (fig. 1). This will be a tight fit.
3 Rotate 4 mm long spacers within each rubber disc insert so
that the spacer hole faces the outside of the insert (Fig. 2).
NOTE: Failure to properly install the spacers may result in
damage to the rubber inserts of the bag. Do not skip steps
1 and 2.
5. Holding the bag in place on the frame, thread an EXP Series
Direct Mount Thumb Screw through each rubber insert in the
bag, ensuring that each Thumb Screw passes through the
4 mm long spacer (Fig. 3). You may need to adjust the position
of the spacer to properly align with the threaded inserts
on the frame.
Loosely thread the Thumb Screws into the threaded inserts
on the frame, taking care not to cross-thread them.
Attach the hook-and-loop strap at the front of the bag around
the headset (optional) (Fig. 4).
Once all Thumb Screws are in place and started, proceed
to tighten each Thumb Screw to finger-tight.

For Other Frames:
1. Attach the hook-and-loop strap at the front of the bag around
the headset spacers below the stem.
2. Loop the long strap through the slots underneath and at the
narrow end of the bag. The non-buckle end goes under the top
tube and through the loop. Pull the long strap through the loop
and tighten it, affixing both sides of the hook-and-loop strap
to each other (Fig. 5).
Ongoing Maintenance
Zipper Care
To ensure reliable performance from EXP Series bikepacking
accessories’ zippers, do not try closing the zipper if the bag is
overstuffed or excessive force would be required to close it.
Do not force a zipper in an overstuffed pack, as this may cause
the zipper teeth to come irreparably undone from the pack itself.
Do not force a slider that has fabric or thread caught in it. Gently
pull the slider back and remove the trapped fabric or thread.
NOTE: Excessive force applied to zippers is not covered
by warranty.
Do not force a zipper slider that does not open or close smoothly.
The zipper should be closed with the slider all the way to the
top before cleaning to prevent clogging the teeth of the zipper.
Apply Paraffin or ZIPPYCOOL®to the front and back side of the
zipper teeth, and move the slider up and down several times
to work the lubricant in.
Fabric Care
Hand wash with warm water and all-purpose detergent. Air dry.
