This pump can be operated in potentially explosive atmospheres
(ATEX). Directive 2014/34/EU of the European parliament establishes
essential health and safety requirements for the use of devices and
protective systems in these atmospheres and allows the technical
expression of the requirements contained therein to fall within the
harmonized European norms. Samoa Industrial S.A has followed a
procedure whereby it demonstrates the conformity of the product that
accompanies this manual with these requirements. This process has
consisted of the preparation and subsequent deposit of the required

with the following information included (do not use it in ATEX if you do
not incorporate it):
Ex: indicates that it is possible to use this pump in a potentially
explosive atmosphere.
h: indicates that it refers to the standard 80079-36.
IIB: indicates the group of the equipment, in this case destined to be
used in explosive atmospheres of gas, except mines or when the typical
gas is hydrogen (in the directive, cat. 2G zone 1).
T4: indicates the temperature class for group II. In this case, the class is
T4 (<= 135ºC), which takes into account the maximun temperature
that pump´s surface could reach when oil’s one is 70ºC (maximum
allowable value stated by this manual) and several hours of dry running
overheating occurs.

technical documentation in the notified body mentioned in the
declaration of conformity together with an internal control of
the production.
The devices intended for use in this type of atmosphere must have a
specific marking that is an essential tool for the end user for the correct
location and use of the pump. Next, the content of the marking
incorporated by these pumps suitable for ATEX will be explained.
Remember that you should never use a pump that is not marked with
this label in potentially explosive atmospheres.
Gb: indicates the EPL of the pump.
In addition, the marking includes the reference number of the technical
documentation that has been deposited with the notified body (see
declaration of conformity), followed by the letter “X”.
X: indicates that there are special conditions of safe use that are
transmitted through this instruction manual to the end user, which in
this case are:
• Ambient temperature for which the pump is intended:
-20ºC≤Tamb≤50ºC
• Maximum surface temperature of the pump is dependent on the
temperature of the oil to be pumped, which should never exceed
70ºC, or the ambient one (whichever is greater).
• A grounding cable with a clamp is included, which must be placed
firmly and stably and protected on a conductive element of the
installation, foreign to the pump and connected to the ground.
Zones defined by group II (gas): suitable for zone 1.
• Zone 1: areas in which explosive atmospheres caused by mixtures
of air and gases, vapours or mists are likely to occur in
normal operation.

EQUIPMENT MISUSE
• This equipment is for professional use only. Read all instruction manuals, tags, and labels before operating the equipment.
• Do not tamper the equipment.
• Use the equipment only for its intended purpose.
• Install and use the pump following all local and national regulations including all health and safety laws and regulations.
• Use only original replacement parts from Samoa Industrial, S.A.
• Any unauthorised modification to the equipment, misuse, improper maintenance or identification label removal may void
the warranty.
• To avoid accidents, make sure to disconnect the equipment from the air supply when is not being used.
CHEMICAL COMPATIBILITIES AND TEMPERATURE LIMITS
• The use of non-compatible fluids may cause damage in the pump and serious personal injuries. This equipment is not intended for
use with fluids that are listed in section 1 of the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/34/EU. These fluids are explosive, extremely
flammable, highly flammable, flammable, highly toxic, toxic, oxidizing or those whose vapor pressure is greater than 0,5 bar
(7 psi) above the atmospheric pressure at the maximum allowable temperature.
• The pump generates high or very high pressures. Do not exceed the maximum air inlet pressure of 12 bar (170 psi).
• High pressures can cause very serious injuries to the human body.
• This unit may have stored pressure. Release all pressure and disconnect from any fluid systems before servicing. To ensure the unit
safe operation, all service work should be done by qualified personnel only.
• All fittings in the system connected to the pump outlet must be suitable for the maximum pressure generated by the pump/air
motor. If the system is not designed to withstand the pump maximum pressure, install safety or diverter valves.
SAFETY MEASURES
• Ensure that operators using this equipment are trained on the operation, the product and its limitations.
• Use safety equipment as required.
• User must respect the surface temperature considerations in explosive atmospheres. This manual specifies conditions in this regard.
The ATEX marking states the maximum temperature that the equipment can reach in use, which will depend on the oil and/or
ambient, and must be taken into account.

Compressed air powered reciprocating piston pump. This high flow capacity pump is compatible with mineral and synthetic oils and suitable for
large installations with long length piping supplying several fluid outlets simultaneously.
This pump can be mounted on the wall, with wall mounting bracket (Part. No. 360140, 360139), or directly on a drum or tank, using a suction
tube of a suitable length. All pumps bundle a bung adapter, except references xxxx8x.

These pumps can be installed directly on a drum or tank. However, we
recommend installation with a wall-mounting bracket (360140/360139).
They can be installed in three different ways:
a. Wall mounting with bung adapter. Insert the pump through the
wall bracket (360140) and attach it with the bung adapter
(360001) (Fig. 1).
b. Wall mounting with screws. Insert the pump through the wall
bracket (360140) and fix it with 4xM8 screws (Fig. 2).
C. Adjustable drum or tank mounting, using bung adapter (360001).
Screw the proper suction tube (see Fig. 3) to the foot valve of the
pump. Screw the nut of the bung adapter to the 2” opening of the
cover. Insert the suction tube through the nut and secure it with the
star nut at the desired height.
In those cases in which it is required to comply with ATEX conditions,
be sure to ground the pump with the cable equipped with
a clamp (534907).

This pump is self-priming. To prime it the first time, you must connect the air supply to the pump and slowly increase the air pressure from 0 to
the desired pressure using a pressure regulator. The pump starts to pump when an outlet valve is opened, for example an oil control gun.

NOTE: The compressed air supply must be between 30 and 170 psi (2 - 12 bar), and 80 to 100 psi is ideal.

TROUBLESHOOTING
SYMPTOMS POSSIBLE REASONS SOLUTIONS
The pump is not working or there is
no oil delivery.
Not enough air supply pressure. Increase the air supply pressure.
Some outlet line component is clogged or closed. Clean or open the outlet circuit.
The pump begins to operate very
fast.
The tank is empty or the oil level is beneath the
suction tube inlet.
Fill the tank or lower the suction tube until you
reach to the oil level.
The pump keeps on operating
although the oil outlet is closed.
There is an oil leakage in some point of the outlet
circuit. Verify and tighten or repair.
Oil leakage through the air outlet
muffler or the leakage warning hole
on the pump body.
Oil has by-passed to the air motor caused by worn or
damaged seal.
Replace the seal. Check if the pump piston is scratched.
If so, replace the air piston assembly.
Air leakage through the air outlet
muffler.
Damaged or worn piston O ring. Replace O Ring.
The air seal of the inverter assembly is damaged or
worn. Replace the air seal.
Damaged or worn spool seals. Replace the seals.
Oil output too low or diminishes
over time.
Contamination in the foot valve. Remove and clean. Replace if damaged.
Contamination in the upper valve. Remove and clean. Replace if damaged.
The exhaust felt is clogged by compressed air dirt or
lubricant. Replace the muffler felt.
CLEAN THE MUFFLER (FIG. 5)
1.Unscrew and remove the plug (C).
2.Remove the muffler diffuser (B).
3.Replace the felt (A) with a new one.
4.Replace the diffuser (B) together with the new felt (A).
5.Replace the plug (C).
REPAIR AND CLEANING PROCEDURE
WARNING: Before starting any kind of maintenance or repair,
disconnect the compressed air supply and open a downstream
valve to relieve the oil pressure.
During the assembly, ensure to apply grease to all the seals.

1. Desenrosque los 3 tornillos (A) y quite la tapa (B).
2 . Desenrosque el tapó

n (C). Deseche su tórica (D) y ponga una nueva
posteriormente.
3 . Saque las 2 chavetas curvas (E).
4 . Retire los 5 tornillos (F) junto con sus arandelas (G).
5 . Tire hacia arriba del cabezal motor (Q) hasta liberarlo del resto de la bomba.
6 . Tire hacia arriba del casquillo (J) hasta sacarlo del cabezal. Saque también todas las
tóricas del interior (3xH y I). Deséchelas y sustitúyalas posteriormente por unas
nuevas.
7 . Deseche las tóricas (K, L, 4xR, S) y la (H) que se encuentra bajo la arandela (M).
Reemplácelas por unas nuevas posteriormente.
8 . Desenrosque los 4 tornillos (V), tire de la brida (N) hacia arriba y deseche las tóricas
(O) y (P). Reemplácelas posteriormente por unas nuevas.
9 . Tire hacia arriba del cilindro (U) y reemplace las tóricas (O), (P) y (T).
10 .Vuelva a montar el conjunto en sentido inverso, aplicando fijador de rosca en el
tapón (C).
NOTA : las juntas nuevas necesarias estan incluidas en el kit 539502.

1.Unscrew the 4 bolts (J) from the cover (I) and remove it.
2.Unscrew the 4 screws (A) from the muffler (B) and remove it together
with the gasket (C) and the muffler resonator (D).
3.Using a plastic tool, gently tap the spool (H) on the side of its smallest
diameter through the motor (Fig. 6), remove the spool (H).
AIR MOTOR SEALS (FIG. 7)
1.Remove the 3 bolts (A) and then the cap (B).
2.Remove the plug (C) and its O-ring (D). Remove o-ring (D) and
replace it later by a new one.
3.Take away the 2 curved keys (E).
4.Unscrew the 5 bolts (F) and take tehm away along with their washers (G).
5.Pull upwards the head of the motor (Q) till it´s free from the rest of
the pump.
6. Pull upwards the part (J) till it´s out of the head of the motor. Remove
the o-rings 3x(H) and (I) and replace them later by new ones.
7.Remove o-rings (K), (L), 4x(R), (S) and the one (H) below the
washer (M). Replace them later by new ones.
8.Remove the 4 bolts (V), pull upwards the part (N) and then remove
o-rings (O) and (P). Replace them later with new ones.
9. Pull upwards the cylinder (U) and replace o-rings (O), (P) and (T).
10.Reassemble in reverse order, applying thread locker in plug (C).
Note: All these seals are included in the available kit (section SPARE
PARTS KITS).
4.Replace the spool seals 2x(E), (F) and (G), or replace the complete
spool (H) with its factory installed seals (Section SPARE PARTS KITS).
This is the recommended option to ensure that the seals are
installed correctly.

For easier service, it is recommended to stop the pump near
the lowest stroke position.
1.Unscrew the tube (J) from the pump body (D).
2. Unscrew the piston (I) from the rod (A). Take away the ball (F) and the
washer (G). Replace the V-ring (H).
3.Unscrew bolts (K), remove the outlet body (D) and replace the seals
(B, E) and guide ring (C).
4.Reassemble in reverse order, applying thread locker in all joints.
5.All these seals are included in the available kit (section SPARE
PARTS KITS).

La bomba que usted ha adquirido puede ser utilizada en una atmósfera
potencialmente explosiva (ATEX). La directiva europea 2014/34/EU
establece unos requisitos esenciales de seguridad y salud para la
utilización de aparatos y sistemas de protección en estas atmósferas y
deja que recaigan en las normas europeas armonizadas la expresión
técnica de los requisitos que en ella se contienen. Samoa Industrial S.A
ha seguido un procedimiento mediante el cual demuestra la
conformidad del producto al que acompaña este manual con estos
requisitos. Este proceso ha consistido en la elaboración y posterior
depósito de la documentación técnica requerida en el organismo
En la bomba a la que acompaña este manual usted debería localizar una
etiqueta con la siguiente información incluida (no haga uso de la misma
en ATEX si no la incorpora):
Ex: nos indica que es posible la utilización de esta bomba en una
atmósfera potencialmente explosiva.
h: nos indica que hace referencia a la norma 80079-36.
IIB: nos indica el grupo del equipo, en este caso destinado a usarse en
atmósferas explosivas de gas, excepto minas o cuando el gas típico es
hidrógeno (en la directiva, cat. 2G zona 1).
T4: nos indica la clase de temperatura para el grupo II. En este caso, la
clase es T4 (<= 135ºC), que tiene en cuenta la temperatura superficial
máxima que podría alcanzar la bomba si el aceite está a la máxima
temperatura admisible por especificaciones de este manual (70ºC)
y hay además sobrecalientamiento por funcionamiento en seco
durante varias horas.

Los aparatos destinados a su uso en este tipo de atmósferas deben
presentar un marcado específico que es herramienta fundamental para
el usuario final de cara al correcto emplazamiento y uso de la bomba.
A continuación se explicará el contenido del marcado que incorporan
estas bombas aptas para ATEX. Recuerde que nunca debe de utilizar
una bomba que no esté marcada con esta etiqueta en atmósferas
potencialmente explosivas.
Gb: nos indica el EPL de la bomba.
Además, el marcado incluye el número de referencia de la documentación
técnica que se ha depositado en el organismo notificado (ver declaración
de conformidad), seguido de la letra “X”.
X: nos indica que existen condiciones especiales de uso seguro que se
transmiten mediante este manual de instrucciones al usuario final, que
en este caso son:
• Temperatura ambiente para la que está destinada la bomba:
-20ºC ≤Tamb ≤50ºC
• Temperatura máxima superficial de la bomba dependiente de la Tª
del aceite a bombear, que nunca debe superar los 70ºC, o la
ambiental (la que sea mayor).
• Se incluye un cable de puesta a tierra dotado de pinza que debe
ser colocada firmemente y de forma estable y protegida sobre un
elemento conductor de la instalación, ajeno a la bomba y que esté
conectado a tierra.
Zona definida por grupo II (gas): válido para zona 1.
• Zona 1: emplazamientos en los que atmósferas explosivas
causadas por mezcla de aire con gases, vapores o nieblas son
susceptibles de producirse en funcionamiento normal.

USO INDEBIDO DEL EQUIPO
• Este equipo es sólo para uso profesional. Lea atentamente el manual de instrucciones y sus advertencias antes de empezar a operar
con el equipo.
• No modifique el equipo.
• Utilice el equipo sólo para el uso para el cual fue diseñado.
• Instale y utilice la bomba de acuerdo con todas las normativas locales y nacionales incluyendo leyes y regulaciones en materia de
salud y seguridad.
• Utilice solo repuestos originales de Samoa Industrial, S.A.
• Cualquier modificación no autorizada del equipo, uso indebido, mantenimiento incorrecto o la retirada de las etiquetas
identificativas puede ser causa de anulación de la garantía.
• Para prevenir accidentes, cuando el equipo no esté en uso asegúrese la desconexión de este de la línea de alimentación de aire.
COMPATIBILIDADES QUÍMICAS Y LÍMITES DE PRESIÓN
• Los fluidos no adecuados para la bomba pueden causar daños a la unidad de la bomba e implicar riesgos y graves daños personales.
Este equipo no está destinado para el uso de fluidos que se encuentran en el apartado 1 de la Directiva de Equipos a Presión
2014/34 / EU. Estos son fluidos explosivos, extremadamente inflamables, altamente inflamables, inflamables, muy tóxicos, tóxicos
u oxidantes. O aquellos fluidos cuya presión de vapor sea superior a 0,5 bar (7 psi) sobre la presión atmosférica a la máxima
temperatura permitida.
• La bomba puede producir presiones elevadas o muy elevadas. No exceder la presión máxima permitida de alimentación de aire de
12 bar (170 psi).
• Las altas presiones pueden ocasionar lesiones muy graves en el cuerpo humano.
• Este equipo puede contener presión almacenada, elimine la presión y desconecte la bomba del sistema de entrada y salida de
fluidos en caso de realizar cualquier mantenimiento. Para asegurar el correcto funcionamiento de esta unidad, cualquier operación
de mantenimiento solo será llevada a cabo por personal cualificado.
• Todos los accesorios que se encuentren en la línea de salida de fluido deben de ser aptos para la máxima presión generada por la
bomba. Si el sistema no está diseñado para soportar la máxima presión ejercida por la bomba, instale válvulas de seguridad o
válvulas de derivación.
MEDIDAS DE SEGURIDAD
• Asegúrese de que los operarios que utilicen este equipo estén formados sobre el funcionamiento, el producto y sus limitaciones.
• Utilice el equipo de seguridad necesario.
• El usuario debe respetar las consideraciones de temperatura de la superficie en atmósferas explosivas. Este manual especifica
condiciones para este respecto. El marcado ATEX indica la temperatura máxima que puede alcanzar el equipo en uso, que
dependerá del aceite y / o ambiente, y debe tenerse en cuenta.

Diferentes formas de montaje:

soporte (360140) y fíjela con el adaptador (360001) (Fig. 1).

(360140) y fíjela con 4 tornillos M8 (Fig. 2).
c. Montaje ajustable sobre bidón o cisterna con adaptador (360001).
Rosque a la bomba el tubo prolongador correspondiente (ver Fig. 3).
Rosque la tuerca del adaptador ajustable a la tapa del bidón/cisterna.
Inserte el tubo por la tuerca y fíjelo con la estrella a la altura deseada.
En aquellos casos en los que sea requerido cumplir condiciones ATEX,
asegúrese de conectar a tierra la bomba con el cable de tierra dotado
de pinza (534907).
INSTALACIÓN

MODO DE EMPLEO
Esta bomba es auto-cebante. Para cebarla la primera vez, es conveniente conectar el aire a la bomba incrementando la presión lentamente desde 0 bar
a la presión deseada con el regulador de presión.
La bomba empieza a bombear cuando se abre la válvula de salida, por ejemplo una pistola de control de aceite.
