l Insertyourfingernailorotherflatobjectintotheslotonthetopleftsideofthebattery
compartmentcoverandliftthecoverupgently.

l Replacethebatterycompartmentcover,makingsureallthetabsaresecureandthereare
nogapsaroundthecover.

3. PlugtheUSBconnectorintothecharger/accessoryjackonthebottomofyourphone.
Warning! Whilethephoneischarging,ifthetouchscreendoesnotfunctionduetoanunstable
powersupply,unplugtheUSBpoweradapterfromthepoweroutletorunplugtheUSBcablefrom
thephone.
4. PlugtheACadapterintoanelectricaloutletandchargeyourbattery.Fullychargingabattery
maytakeuptothreehours.
Note: Yourphone’sbatteryshouldhaveenoughchargeforthephonetoturnonandfindasignal,
runthesetupapplication,setupvoicemail,andmakeacall.Youshouldfullychargethebatteryas
soonaspossible.
5. PressandholdthePowerbuttontoturnthephoneon.
l Ifyourphoneisactivated,itwillturnon,searchforSprintservice,andbeginthesetup
application.
l Ifyourphoneisnotyetactivated,seeActivateYourPhoneformoreinformation.

Dependingonyouraccountorhowandwhereyoupurchasedyourphone,itmaybereadytouseor
youmayneedtoactivateitonyourSprintaccount.
n IfyoupurchasedyourphoneataSprintStore,itisprobablyactivatedandreadytouse.
n IfyoureceivedyourphoneinthemailanditisforanewSprintaccountoranewlineofservice,it
isdesignedtoactivateautomatically.
l Whenyouturnthephoneonforthefirsttime,youshouldseeaHands Free Activation
screen,whichmaybefollowedbyaPRL UpdatescreenandaFirmware Updatescreen.
Followtheonscreeninstructionstocontinue.
n Ifyoureceivedyourphoneinthemailandyouareactivatinganewphoneforanexistingnumber
onyouraccount(you’reswappingphones),youcanactivateonyourcomputeronlineordirectly
onyourphone.
l Activateonyourcomputer:
o Gotosprint.com/activateandcompletetheonlineinstructionstoactivateyourphone.
l Activateonyourphone:
o Turnonyournewphone.(Makesuretheoldoneisturnedoff.)Yourphonewill
automaticallyattemptHands-FreeActivation.
o TapActivatetooverrideauto-activationandstartthemanualactivationwizard.
o Followtheonscreenpromptstocompletetheactivationprocess.
n Toconfirmactivation,makeaphonecall.Ifyourphoneisstillnotactivatedoryoudonothave
accesstotheInternet,contactSprintCustomerServiceat1-888-211-4727forassistance.
Tip: DonotpressthePowerbuttonwhilethephoneisbeingactivated.PressingthePowerbutton
cancelstheactivationprocess.

Alwaysuseapasswordtoprotectagainstunauthorizedaccess.Yourphoneautomaticallytransfers
allunansweredcallstoyourvoicemail,evenifyourphoneisinuseorturnedoff.
