The earpiece volume button is on the left side
of the phone.
Press the volume button to adjust the ear
piece volume whilst on a call. The display will
indicate the volume level.

1You can access WAP straight from the main
menu when you first turn your phone on by
pressing . This will launch WAP
according to your settings. Alternatively,
follow the steps below.
2Press under Menu then or until
you see WAP Browser.
3Press under Select. You will see
Sending))), and then Welcome to Orange
Multi Media. If a connection is not made the
first time, press Retry.
4Press or to scroll and select from
Orange Main Menu, or Other Sites.Scroll to

6To return to the home page while browsing,

before you start

inserting the SIM Card
1To remove the back cover, pull the
grey button at
the top of the
phone in the
direction
indicated by the
arrow. The cover
will spring away
from the phone
and you can
remove it.
2Pull back the
plastic catch of
the SIM Card
holder, Slide the SIM Card into the slot
so that it slips beneath the plastic
teeth, cut-off corner side first. The gold
contacts should be facing down.
Release the catch to hold the SIM
Card in place.
Note: If you need to remove your SIM
Card, always turn your phone off first.
about the SIM Card
Look for the plastic card that came in
your phone’s box. If there is no SIM Card
in your box, it may have already been
inserted into your phone. If there isn’t one
in your phone or your phone’s box,
contact your stockist or call Orange
Customer Services on 07973 100 150 or,
if you are a pay-as-you-go customer, on
07973 100 451.

You will see a small number written on
the SIM Card next to the golden
contacts. Write down the number in the
box on page 1.4. The first six numbers
have already been completed. If your
phone is not already registered, you'll
need this number when you call Orange
to register. This number is also on the
outside of the box.

Remove the
SIM Card from its
plastic surround by
carefully pushing it
out. The SIM Card’s
contacts are easily
damaged so take care when doing this
and try to avoid touching the golden
contacts.

The SIM Card (or Subscriber Identity Module) is a computer chip containing
information about your phone and subscription.

Note: Rechargeable batteries have a
limited lifespan and Orange recommend
that you purchase a new one every year.
Call the Orange Accessory Hotline on
0500 178 178 for up-to-date prices or to
order accessories for your phone.
talk time and standby time
Your phone comes with a slim battery
and a large battery. The slim battery
gives up to 2 hours of talk time and up to
40 hours of standby time under optimum
conditions. The large battery gives up to
3 hours of talk time and 25 hours of
standby time. When the battery is
running low, the words Low Battery will
be displayed and you will hear two
double ‘beeps’ indicating that only a few
minutes of talk time are left. When the
battery is completely discharged your
phone will turn off.

the back cover
of the phone.
2Place the
bottom of the
cover against
the bottom of the phone.
3Push the top of the cover in, lifting the
grey button at the top of the phone as
you do so.
4Release the button, which holds the
back cover closed.
charging the battery
The first charge must be for a minimum
of 16 hours in order to achieve optimum
performance. Subsequent charges
should be for 4 hours if the battery is
completely flat. You can make calls whilst
charging as long as you have registered
your phone with Orange. See page 1.5.
1Plug your charger into a mains socket.
The phone can be charged when it is
switched on or off.
2Insert the other end of the lead into
the bottom of your phone. The battery
symbol on the display will start to
pulsate to show it’s charging if the
phone is switched on. If the phone is
switched off, the battery symbol
pulsates when charging begins. The
first time you plug in the charger and
switch it on the battery indicator may
take a few seconds to show. The
phone and charger may become
warm when the battery is charging,
this is normal and is not cause for
concern.

Please call Orange Customer Services on
150 from your Orange phone or
07973 100 150 from any other phone
before you make any other calls. This only
applies if your phone was not registered at
the time you bought it.

This is given to you either when you buy
your phone or when you call to register.
SIM update
When your phone is registered you will
receive one or more SIM updates. They
will arrive as text messages and SIM
update will show on the display.
acknowledging and deleting your
SIM update
Treat the SIM update as you would any
other text message you might receive on
your phone.
1When a message arrives you will hear
a tone and see the symbol and
the words New Message (1).
2Press under View twice. Press
under Options. Delete will be
highlighted. Press under OK. You
will see the message Confirm
Deletion? Press under Yes.
3Press and hold the Ckey to return to
the main display.
4You should turn your phone off and
back on again. This will enable you to
make your first call.

Network, you and Orange agree to be
bound by the Orange terms and
conditions set out in this user guide.
Please take time to read and consider
them before you register.

Switch on your phone by pressing and
holding the key. During your first
call to Orange Customer Services you
will be asked for the following
information:
1The 15-digit serial number - or IMEI
number which is on the back of your
phone underneath the battery.
IMEI number / Serial number
2The SIM Card number. This is on the
SIM Card itself.
SIM Card number
3A password for security purposes - for
example your mother’s maiden name.
4Your address including the postcode.
5If you are connecting to pay-as-you-
go, you will also need a four digit
identity code of your choice - if you
ever need to call Customer Services,
you will be asked for this, so please
keep it handy or memorise it.
Pay as you go customers
Please call 0800 079 0006 from any
other phone to register your Orange
phone and be credited with the free talk
time, applicable on registration.
