1.PowerManagement
Sevenlow-dropout regulatorsdesigned specificallyforGSM applications
power theterminal andhelpensureoptimal system performanceandlong
batterylife.
Aprogrammable boostconverterprovides support for1.8V,3.0V, and 5.0V
SIMs,whileaself-resetting,electronicallyfused switchsuppliespower to
external accessories.Ancillarysupport functions,suchasanLEDdriverand
twocall-alert drivers, aidinreducingbothboardarea andsystem
complexity.
Athree-wireserial interface unit(SIU)providesaccess tocontrol and
configurationregisters.Thisinterfacegivesamicroprocessorfull controlof
thePSC2106 and enables system designerstomaximize bothstandbyand
talk times.
Supervisoryfunctions.includingaresetgenerator, aninputvoltage monitor,
andathermal monitor,support reliablesystem design.Thesefunctions
worktogether toensurepropersystem behaviorduringstart-upor inthe
eventofafaultcondition(lowmicroprocessorvoltage,insufficientbattery
energy,orexcessive dietemperature).
2.Battery ChargeManagement
A batterycharge managementblock providesfast,efficientcharging ofa
single-cell Li-ionbattery.Used inconjunctionwitha current-limited voltage
sourceandanexternal PMOSpass transistor,thisblock safelyconditions
near-deadcellsandprovidestheoptionofhavingfast-chargeandtop-off
controlled internallyorbythesystem's microprocessor.
3.Backlight LED Driver
The backlight LEDdriver isa low-side,programmablecurrentsource
designed tocontrolthe brightness ofthekeyboardandLCDillumination.
The driver isenabled byEN_LED, anditscurrentsettingisdetermined by
LED[0:2].Provided EN_LEDis '1',the drivercanbe programmed tosink
from 12.5mA to100mA in12.5mA steps.LED_DRViscapableofsinking
100mA ataworst-case maximum outputvoltageof0.6V.Forefficientuse,
theLEDsisconnected betweenthe batteryandtheLED_DRVoutput.

4.VibratorMotorDirver
Thevibratormotordriver isa low-side,programmablevoltagesource
designed todriveasmall dcmotor thatsilentlyalertsthe userofan
incomingcall. The driver isenabled byEN_VIB, anditsvoltagesettingis
determined byVIB[0:2].Provided EN_VIBisa logic1,the drivercanbe
programmed tomaintainamotorvoltageof1.1Vto2.5Vin20mV stepsand
whilesinkingupto100mA.Forefficientuse,thevibratormotorshould be
connected betweenthe mainbatteryandtheVIB_DRVoutput.

1.LCDConnector
LCDisconsisted ofmainLCD(color65K STNLCD)andsmall LCD(4-gray
LCD).ChipselectsignalsofEMIpart inthetrident,CLCD_EN_FOand
GLCD_EN_FO,
canenableEachLCD.LED_EN_FOsignal enableswhiteLEDofmainLCD
andEL_EN_FOsignal enablesELofsmall LCD.
Thesetwosignalsarefrom IO part oftheDSPinthetrident. RST signal
from 2006 initiatestheinitial process oftheLCD.
16-bit data lines(D(0)_FO~D(15)_FO)transfersdata andcommandstoLCD
throughemi_filter.Data andcommandsuse A(2)_FOsignal. Ifthis signal is
high,InputstoLCDarecommands.Ifit islow,InputstoLCDare data. The
signal whichinformstheinputoroutputstatetoLCD,isrequired.But this
system is notnecessarythis signal. SoCP_WEN_FOsignal isused towrite
dataorcommandstoLCD.
Powersignalsfor LCDareV_batandV_ccd.
SPK1PandSPK1N fromCSP1093 are used foraudiospeaker.And
VIB_EN_FOfrom enablesthe motor.
2.JTAGConnector
TridenthastwoJTAGportswhichareforARMcoreandDSP
core(DSP16000).Sothis system hastwoport connectorfor theseports.
Pins' initialsforARMcoreare'CP_' andpins' initialsforDSPcoreare
'DSP_'.
CP_TDIandDSP_TDIsignal are used for inputofdata. CP_TDOand
DSP_TDOsignalsare used for theoutputofthe data. CP_TCKand
DSP_TCKsignalsare used forclock because JTAGcommunicationisa
synchronous.CP_TMS andDSP_TMS signalsaretestmode signals.The
difference betweentheseistheRESET_INT signal whichisforARMcore
RESET.

This system usesIRDA module,HSDL_3201,HP's.Thishas signals,
IRDA_EN(enablesignal),IRDA_RX(inputdata)and IRDA_TX(outputdata).
Thesesignalsareconnected toPPIoftrident.Itusestwopowersignals.
V_ccdisused forcircuit andV_bat isused for LED.
4.Keypadconnector
Thisisconsisted ofkeyinterfacepins amongPPIinthetrident,
KEY_ROW[0~4]and KEY_COL[0~4].Thesesignalscomposethe matrix.
Resultofmatrixinformsthekeystatustokeyinterfaceinthetrident.Some
pins areconnected tovaristorforESD protection.Andpoweron/off keyis
seperated fromthe matrix.
Sopoweron/off signal isconnected with PSC2106 toenablePSC2106.
SVC_GREEN,SVC_REDandSVC_BLUE arefrom OCTLofCSP1093.
Thesesignalsdecide thecolorofLED,serviceindicator.
EighteenkeyLEDusetheV_batsupplyvoltage.Theseareconnected to
BACKLIGHT signal inthePSC2106.
This signal enablesLEDswithcurrentcontrol. FLIP_SNS informsthestatus
of folder(openorclosed)tothetrident.Thisusesthehall effectIC,
A3210ELH.
A magnetundermainLCDenablesA3210ELHwhichisonthekeyFPCB.
5. EMIFiltering
This system usestheshuntcapacitorstoreducenoisefromLCD part.Some
controlsignalsareconnected toLCDwithoutEMIfiltering.
3)IFconnetor
It is24-pinconnector, and uses18-pinatpresent.Theyare designed touse
SDS,DEBUG,DLC-DETECT,JIG_ON,VEXT,VTEST,VF,CF,VBATandGND.
Theyconnected topowersupplyIC,microprocessorandsignal processorIC.

AOUTAPfromCSP1093 isconnected tothe main speaker.AOUTANis
connected tothespeakervia audio-amp.AOUTBNand AOUTBPareconnected
tothe ear-micspeakerviaear-jack. MICINandMICOUTareconnected tothe
mainMIC.And AUXINand AUXOUTareconnected totheEar-mic.
YMU762MA3 isaLSIforportabletelephonethat iscapableofplayinghigh
qualitymusicbyutilizingFM synthesizerand ADPCMdecorder thatare
included inthisdevice.
Asasynthesis,YMU762MA3 isequipped 16 voiceswithdifferenttones.Since
the deviceiscapableofsimultaneouslygeneratinguptosynchronouswiththe
playoftheFM synthesizer, various sampled voicescanbe used as sound
effects.
SincetheplaydataofYMU762MA3 areinterpreted atanytime throughFIFO,
thelengthofthe data(playingperiod)is notlimited,sothe devicecan
flexiblysupport application suchasincomingcall melodymusicdistribution
service.Thehardwaresequencerbuilt inthisdeviceallowsplaying ofthe
complexmusicwithoutgivingexcessiveloadtotheCPUoftheportable
telephones.Moreover,theregistersoftheFM synthesizercanbe operated
directlyfor real time soundgeneration, allowing,forexample,utilizationof
various sound effectswhenusingthegame softwareinstalled intheportable
telephone.
YMU759 includesaspeakeramplifier with highrippleremoval ratewhose
maximum output is550mW(SPVDD=3.6V).The deviceisalsoequipped with
conventional functionincludinga vibartoranda circuit forcontrollingLEDs
synchornouswithmusic.
For theheadphone,it isprovided withastereophonicoutput terminal.
For thepurposeofenablingYMU762MA3 todemonstarteitsfull capablities,
Yamahapurposetouse"SMAF:SyntheticmusicMobile ApplicationFormat"asa
datadistributionformat that iscompatiblewihtmultimedia. SincetheSMAF
takesastructurethatsetsimportanceonthesynchronizationbetween sound
andimages, variouscontentscanbe writtenintoit includingincomingcall
melodywithwordsthatcanbe used for traningkaraoke, andcommercial
channelthatcombinestexts,imagesandsounds, andothers.Thehardware
sequencerofYMU762MA3 directlyinterpretsandplaysblocksrelevant to
systhesis(playingmusic andreproducingADPCMwithFM synthesizer)thatare
included indatadistributed inSMAF.
