Damage
• Please inspect the unit for
damage after unpacking.
• Do not continue to operate the
unit if you are in any doubt about
it working normally, or if it is
damaged in any way - switch o,
withdraw the mains adapter and
consult your dealer.
Location of Unit
• The unit must be placed on a at
stable surface and not subjected
to vibrations.
• Do not place the unit on sloped
or unstable surfaces as the unit
may fall o or tip over.
• The mains socket must be located
near the unit and should be easily
accessible.
• This unit is designed for indoor
use only.
Temperature
• Avoid extreme degrees of
temperature, either hot or cold.
Safety Warnings
Place the unit well away from
heat sources such as radiators or
gas / electric res.
• Avoid exposure to direct sunlight
and other sources of heat.
Naked Flames
• Never place any type of candle or
naked ame on the top of or near
the unit.
Moisture
• To reduce the risk of re, electric
shock or product damage, do not
expose this unit to rain, moisture,
dripping or splashing. No objects
lled with liquids, such as vases,
should be placed on the unit. Do
not operate the unit with wet
hands, near water or other liquid.
• If you spill any liquid into the
unit, it can cause serious damage.
Switch it o at the mains
immediately. Withdraw the mains
plug and consult your dealer.
Ventilation
• To prevent the risk of electric
shock or re hazard due to
overheating, ensure that curtains
and other materials do not
obstruct the ventilation vents.
• A minimum distance of 5cm
around the unit should be
maintained to allow for sucient
ventilation.

• Do not install or place this unit in
a bookcase, built-in cabinet or in
another conned space. Ensure
the unit is well ventilated.
Safety
• Always disconnect the unit
from the mains supply before
connecting / disconnecting other
devices or moving the unit.
• Unplug the unit from the mains
socket during a lightning storm.
• In the interests of safety and
to avoid unnecessary energy
consumption, never leave the unit
switched on while unattended
for long periods of time, e.g.
overnight, while on holiday or
while out of the house. Switch it
o and disconnect the mains plug
from the mains socket.
Mains Adapter Cable
• Make sure the unit or unit stand
is not resting on top of the mains
adapter cable, as the weight of
the unit may damage the cable
and create a safety hazard.
Mains Adapter
• The mains adapter will continue
to draw electricity from the mains
supply when plugged in the
mains socket. In the interests of
safety and to avoid unnecessary
energy consumption, never leave
the adapter plugged in the mains
socket while unattended for long
periods of time. Disconnect the
adapter from the power supply.
Use only power supplies listed
in the user instructions.
Interference
• Do not place the unit on or near
appliances which may cause
electromagnetic interference. If
you do, it may adversely aect the
working of the unit, and cause a
distorted sound.
Earphones
• Listening to loud sounds
for prolonged periods of
time may permanently
damage your hearing.
• Before putting on earphones, turn
the volume down then put the
earphones on and slowly increase
the volume until you reach a
comfortable listening level.
Batteries
• Batteries used in the unit are
easily swallowed by young
children and this is dangerous.
• Keep loose batteries away from
young children and make sure
that the battery holder tray is
secure in the unit. Seek medical
advice if you believe a cell has
been swallowed.
• Please dispose of batteries
correctly by following the
guidance in this manual.
• Do not expose the battery to
direct sunlight or sources of
excessive heat.
• Attention should be drawn to the
environmental aspects of battery
disposal.

Supervision

in the case - this could result in a

as household waste or in a re as
they may explode.
• Batteries may explode if

Service
• To reduce the risk of electric
shock, do not remove screws. The
unit does not contain any user-
serviceable parts. Please leave all

7. -VOL+ / STANDBY & MUTE Dial
• Press to switch the unit between the On and Standby mode when
using main power.
• Press and hold to switch On the unit when using battery power.
• Press to switch O the unit when using battery power.
• Press and hold to mute/resume playback.
• Rotate clockwise/anticlockwise to increase/decrease the volume.
8. MENU Button
Press to show menu for the current mode.
9. Preset 1-2+ Button
• Press and hold to preset the corresponding radio station.
• Press to recall the preset station.
10. INFO Button
Press to view more information about the station or track playing.

• Turn to perform manual tune in FM or DAB mode.

Connections
Using the AUX Connection
Connect the AUX IN socket at the rear of the unit to the line output sockets
on the auxiliary equipment using a 3.5 mm to 3.5 mm stereo audio cable
(included), as illustrated.

Using Earphones
Turn down the volume before connecting the earphones (not included).
Slowly raise the volume with the earphones on until you reach your desired
volume. When earphones are connected, the speaker is automatically
muted.
Long-term exposure to loud music may cause hearing damage. It
is best to avoid extreme volume when using earphones, especially
for extended periods.

Power Source
Your unit can be mains powered or battery powered. We recommend for
prolonged use to use the mains power.
1. Fully extend the aerial before plugging the unit into the mains.
2. Connecting the unit to any other power source may damage the unit.
Unwind the mains adapter cable to its full length. Connect the end of
the cable to the DC IN 12V 1A Socket at the rear of the unit and then
connect the mains adapter to the mains socket. Make sure the mains
adapter is rmly inserted into the mains socket. The unit is now ready
to use.
Ensure all connections are connected before connecting to the
mains power socket.

Extend the aerial before switching to DAB mode for the rst time.
This will ensure that the initial scan captures all stations in your
area.

Using your radio at high volume will reduce your battery life.
Knowing when to Replace the Batteries
When the batteries become weak, the sound becomes weak and distorted.
The display backlight becomes unstable when a button is pressed. The
battery icon will ash.
When the batteries are completely exhausted, the power is turned o.

Insert 4 × 1.5V AA battery (not included) into the battery compartment
located at the rear of the unit.

Handling the Batteries
• Improper or incorrect use of batteries may cause corrosion or
battery leakage, which could cause personal injury or damage
to property.
• Install the batteries correctly by following the polarity (+ and –)
indications in the battery compartment.
• Use only the types of the batteries which are indicated in this
manual.
• Do not install new batteries with used ones and do not mix
dierent types of batteries.
• Do not dispose of the used batteries as domestic waste.
Dispose of them in accordance with local regulations.
• If you are not going to use the unit for a long time, remove the
batteries to avoid damage from battery leakage and corrosion.
Due to the short battery life span of some alkaline batteries, it
is recommended to use rechargeable batteries. You will need to
purchase a charger to charge the rechargeable batteries. This
saves money and is more environmentally friendly.

Basic Operation
Switching ON/OFF
While using battery power:
• Press and hold the STANDBY & MUTE dial to switch the unit on.
• Press the STANDBY & MUTE dial to switch the unit o.
While using mains power:
• Press the STANDBY & MUTE dial to switch the unit on.
• Press the STANDBY & MUTE dial again to switch the unit in Standby
mode.
• To switch the unit o completely, unplug the power adapter from the
mains socket.
Remove the mains plug from the mains socket if you want to
switch the unit o completely.
Selecting Modes
Press MODE on the unit to switch between DAB radio, FM radio,
Bluetooth and Aux in.
The unit will enter Standby mode (while using mains power)
or switch OFF (while using battery power) for power saving. If
there is no connection in Bluetooth and Auxiliary input mode for
approximately 10 minutes
Adjusting the Volume
• Adjust the radio volume by turning –VOL+ dial. Turn anti-clockwise to
decrease volume and turn clockwise to increase volume.
• Press and hold the STANDBY & MUTE dial to mute/resume playback.
Setting a Sleep Timer
You can set a sleep timer so if you are listening to your radio and fall asleep,
it will automatically switch o at the preset time. The sleep timer can be
activated for up to a maximum of 90 minutes.
When a sleep timer has been set, the “ ”symbol will be displayed.

System Settings
Equaliser
Your radio has preset equaliser setting. This feature enables you to set a
sound equalization prole. The equalization setting will change the tone of
the sound from your radio.
1. In ON mode, press the MENU button, and then turn the SCROLL &
SELECT dial to select <System>. Press the SCROLL & SELECT dial to
conrm.
2. Turn the SCROLL & SELECT dial to select <Equaliser>. Press the
SCROLL & SELECT dial to conrm.
3. Turn the SCROLL & SELECT dial to select a prole through <Normal>,
<Classic>, <Jazz>, <Pop>, <Rock>, and <Speech>, and then press the
SCROLL & SELECT dial to conrm.
Setting Time and Date
1. Press the MENU button, and then turn the SCROLL & SELECT dial to
select <System>. Press the SCROLL & SELECT dial to conrm.
2. Turn the SCROLL & SELECT dial to select <Time>. Press the SCROLL &
SELECT dial to conrm.
3. Turn the SCROLL & SELECT dial to select options, and then press the
SCROLL & SELECT dial to conrm.
Set Time/Date Here you can manually set the time and date.
Auto update Choose how you want the time to be automatically
updated: Update from Any / Update from FM /
Update from DAB / No update
Set 12/24 hour Set 12 hour or Set 24 hour display.
4. Press the MENU button to return to the previous menu.

Backlight
You can set the brightness for the power on screens and the Standby
screen.
1. In ON mode, press the MENU button, and then turn the SCROLL &
SELECT dial to select <System>. Press the SCROLL & SELECT dial to
conrm.
2. Turn the SCROLL & SELECT dial to select <Backlight>. Press the
SCROLL & SELECT dial to conrm.
3. Turn the SCROLL & SELECT dial to select between <High>, <Medium>
or <Low>, and then press the SCROLL & SELECT dial to conrm.
Inactive Standby
1. In ON mode, press the MENU button, and then turn the SCROLL &
SELECT dial to select <System>. Press the SCROLL & SELECT dial to
conrm.
2. Turn the SCROLL & SELECT dial to select <Inactive Standby>. Press
the SCROLL & SELECT dial to conrm.
3. Turn the SCROLL & SELECT dial or to select between <O>, <2 hour>,
<4 hour>, <5 hour> or <6 hour>, and then press the SCROLL &
SELECT dial to conrm.
Language
This feature enables you to change menu language.
1. In ON mode, press the MENU button, and then turn the SCROLL &
SELECT dial to select <System>. Press the SCROLL & SELECT dial to
conrm.
2. Turn the SCROLL & SELECT dial to select <Language>. Press the
SCROLL & SELECT dial to conrm.
3. Turn the SCROLL & SELECT dial to select a language, and then press
SCROLL & SELECT dial to conrm.

Factory Reset
If you want to delete all your stations and settings, you can return your
radio back to the default setting by running a Factory Reset.
1. In ON mode, press the MENU button, and then turn the SCROLL &
SELECT dial to select <System>. Press the SCROLL & SELECT dial to
conrm.
2. Turn the SCROLL & SELECT dial to select <Factory Reset>, and then
press the SCROLL & SELECT dial to conrm.
3. Turn the SCROLL & SELECT dial to select <Yes>, and then press the
SCROLL & SELECT dial to conrm.
After factory reset, all tuned stations, preset stations and alarm
settings will be erased then your radio will switch back on.
Software version
This information may be requested when dealing with technical support
issues.
1. Press the MENU button, and then turn the SCROLL & SELECT dial to
select <System>. Press the SCROLL & SELECT dial to conrm.
2. Turn the SCROLL & SELECT dial to select <SW version>, and then press
the SCROLL & SELECT dial to conrm.
3. The software version will show on the display.
4. Press the MENU button to exit.
Alarm
Ensure the time and date is set before you can activate the alarm
function.
Setting the Alarm
Your radio has two alarms (Alarm 1 and Alarm 2). This is handy so you can
set one alarm for workdays and one for weekends. You set both alarms in
the same way.
1. In ON mode, press Alarm button repeatedly to select Alarm 1 Setup or
Alarm 2 Setup, and then press the SCROLL & SELECT dial to conrm.
2. Turn the SCROLL & SELECT dial to select options, and then press the
SCROLL & SELECT dial to conrm the setting.
