S300 OZD FOR GARBAGE ROOM
INSTALLER INSTRUCTIONS
These instructions are for a garbage room of less than 2400 cubic feet
Box contains:
• One (1) S300 VOC unit that includes:
o One (1) ‘’J’’ lamp UVC/UVV with yellow tips (part LMPHGXJ105-1 2’’ exposé)
o One (1) ‘’J’’ lamp all UVV with blue tips (part LMPHXJ105)
o Two (2) Multi voltage ballasts (part BST120/277GL) and 2 lamp-holding brackets
o One (1) Relay (part MSCELC16) connected to the all UVV lamp
o Twenty (20) feet of wire that can be inserted in BX shield.
o One (1) OZD controller (part MSC12) factory’s pre-set
• Two (2) replacement pre-filters (part MSCFTR10)
LAMP INSTALLATION
1. Remove the 6 screws on the front cover (The one with
the SANUVOX logo). Put aside.
2. Remove the BLUE END CAP lamp from packaging. Use
the gloves provided.
3. Insert the lamp in the second clamp and tighten.
(furthest clamp from opening)
4. Holding the cap with one hand, plug the white
connector tightly onto the lamp
5. Remove the YELLOW END CAP lamp from packaging. Use
the gloves provided.
6. Insert the lamp in the first clamp and tighten. (closest to
opening)
7. Holding the cap with one hand, plug the white
connector tightly on the lamp
8. Put the cover back on with the 6 screws

SUGGESTED INSTALLATION
The unit can be
• Suspended from ceiling with angles and
suspension rods (not provided).
• Hung on the wall with the supplied angle
iron (included).
Using 8’’collars, attach rigid or flex duct to the
return side of the unit above the area where
odors accumulates or where the trash bins are.
Attach duct (metal or flex) to the supply side of the unit to discharge clean air over door or
entryway. This is done to prevent odors from escaping the room. It is through recirculation that the
odors will be removed.
The OZONE controller could be installed on the wall, at 60 inches from the floor and positioned
under the exhaust. The S300 OZD unit comes with 20ft of wire to link the controller box to the unit.
If 20 ft is not long enough, you can replace it with BX wiring with 3 wires.
WORKING INSTRUCTIONS
• The S300 OZD unit runs constantly, so the regular UVC/UVV lamp is on all the time, purifying the
air. Simultaneously, the controller samples the air every minute.
If the measured ozone level is:
o Less than 0.025ppm, it triggers on the ozone lamp, thus producing oxidizer to lower the
odor.
o More than 0.025ppm, it shuts off the ozone lamp, thus preventing over-ozoning the
room.
• Garbage room odors are chemically attacked by ozone (O3) oxidation, thus transforming itself in
regular oxygen (O2). If more odors are generated, less ozone will be present in the air. Since it is
a garbage room, visit will be mostly ins and outs. No one should stay in that room for long
period of times.

vary with altitude, atmospheric conditions and locale conditions.

ventilated space.

The maximum allowable ozone concentration in industrial working areas: permissible human

Remove the cover.
Connect the 3 wires from the controller to the same color
wiring coming from the unit. Use the wire connectors included.
PLEASE CHECK IF THE GSS SENSOR IS FIRMLY CONNECTED
BEFORE PUTTING BACK THE COVER
OPTIONNAL
Also available: an ozone controller can be equipped with a data
logging USB key that would record each sampling of ozone
level in PPM in the room for a period of up to 3 months
CHECKING IF IT WORKS
1. Start the unit: the GREEN LED on the polycarbonate box, flashes. It will take some time so to
initialize the electronic card.
2. After 3 minutes, the GREEN LED will stop flashing and turn solid: the fan on the card will suck in
an air sample and will measure the ozone concentration. Because there is no ozone in the room,
the RED LED will light up, activating the relay that triggers the UVV lamp on. This sequence will
repeat itself every minute.
NOTE: if the GREEN LED doesn’t stop flashing, check if the GSS sensor is well inserted.
MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
• MONTHLY: Change the pre-filter that protects the motor (part # MSCFTR10) to ensure the
optimal performance of the unit. Check the lamps: if there is a cloudy residue please clean then
off with denatured alcohol and a cloth.
• YEARLY: Change lamps (parts -see below) to maintain performance: make sure to put the same
lamp in the same clamp. Do not interchange the lamps as the blue end cap lamp works only with
the VOC controller.

o LMPHXJ105 lamp all UVV (blue end cap)
• 3-5 YEARS: recalibration of the ozone detector – contact SANUVOX!

MAINTENANCE
• MONTLY:
o Check filter: if filters are dirty, change them (part # MSCFTR10). This will help lower air
restrictions so to keep up the performance of the unit.
o Check if the lamps are covered with dust; in that case, clean them with denatured
alcohol and a clean cloth.
• ANNUALLY:
o Change lamps to maintain performance: make sure to put the same lamp in the same
clamp. Do not interchange lamps as the blue end cap lamp works only with the OZD
controller.

• The ozone controller board is factory set to trigger an action when reaching .025 ppm of ozone.
Powered through the 20 ft wiring, it is also connected to a relay in the unit activating an all
ozone second lamp.
• The S300 OZD unit runs constantly, so the UVC/UVV lamp is on all the time, purifying the air.
Simultaneously, the controller samples the air every minute. LED=GREEN flashing
If the measured ozone level is:
o Less than 0.025ppm, it triggers on the ozone lamp, thus producing oxidiser to lower the
odor. LED= RED
o More than 0.025ppm, it shuts off the ozone lamp, thus preventing over ozoning the
room. LED=GREEN
OVERALL PROCESS
Garbage room odors are chemically attacked by ozone (O3) oxidation. This process transforms ozone
(O3) into regular oxygen (O2). If more odours are generated, less ozone will be present in the air. Since it
is a garbage room, visit will be mostly ins and outs. No one should stay in that room for long period of
times.
It is very important that the fan processes the air rapidly.
Changing the filters regularly is a must.
