Preparing to Install - System/Network Requirements
Preparing to Install - Network Interface and Clock Programming
This clock is locally powered, network-based, and is designed to be installed on the facility’s wall.
This manual provides information for programming the clock, allowing it to interface with the
facility’s network and access its internal settings, as well as information for the physical installation on
the facility’s wall.
To be able to program this IP-based synchronized clock, you will need the following items:
1. This manual
2. A Local Area Network (LAN) that has access to the internet and the facility’s DHCP Server
3. A local firewall that is open on Ports 80 (TCP), 123 (UDP), and 1777 (UDP)
4. At least one computer with access to this LAN and a web browser
5. A router for the LAN
6. A copy of the Network Monitoring Software
7. Security access to all of the above items
8. A 3-conductor electrical cable (hot, neutral, and ground)
9. *A network cable for a hard-wired clock model OR facility’s Wi-Fi network credentials for a Wi-Fi
clock model
10. For a Wi-Fi based Clock, a wireless router or wireless access point that broadcasts using an
802.11 b/g/n protocol
11. **For a hard wired IP based clock, an additional 15 to 50 feet (4.5 – 15 meters) network cable
(besides the network cable that has been already allocated to the clock and run in the facility’s
wall) might be required
*The Prayer Clock is a network-based clock designed to interface with the facility’s network either
by a hard-wired network cable (CAT5/CAT6) or via Wi-Fi. This will depend on the clock model that
was purchased. If there is a physical RJ45 port interface at the back of the clock, it means that it is
the hard-wired network clock, and if not, it means that it is the Wi-Fi version. When installing the
hard-wired Prayer Clock, a network cable is required, allowing the clock to physically connect to the
facility network. If the clock is Wi-Fi based, it should be installed within the facility’s 2.4GHz Wi-Fi
signal range using a wireless router or wireless access point that broadcasts using an 802.11 b/g/n
protocol (clock does not support 5.0GHz Wi-Fi).
**Hard-wired network clocks would need some
configuration before being installed on the wall. As such,
initial programming is done on a table as explained later
on in this manual. If the dedicated network cable for the
clock that has been run in the facility’s wall does not have
enough slack to interface directly with the clock (while
clock is on the table and being programmed), an additional
network cable is required for the initial programming.
We recommend having a 15 to 50 feet (4.5 – 15 meters)
network cable (depending on the table location and the
clock’s intended installation location).
