Step #1 – Door and Hardware Preparation
A. Verify Hand and Bevel of Door
Standontheoutsideoflockeddoorwhendeterminingthedoorhand.
B. Door Preparation
• Prior to installation, all holes must be free of burrs, debris and sharp edges.
• If doors are not properly reinforced per ANSI115.2, commercially available reinforcements
should be installed.
• Prepare door according to appropriate template(s):
–Field door templates are shipped with product
–Doormanufacturer’stemplates4531(inside)and4532(outside)
–Raceway template 4540 (for wood and metal doors)
• Forreplacementtemplates,contactSARGENT1-800-810-WIRE(9473).

Step #2 – Concealed Door Position Switch (3287)
Installation Instructions
Door position switch wiring information:
InstalltheSARGENT3287ConcealedDoorStatusSwitchwiththisv.N110LineProduct,
usingSARGENTinstallationdocumentA7448B.
Wirethe3287ConcealedDoorStatusSwitchtotheElectroLynxframeharnessand
to the door status wires:
1. Connect the common wire of the switch to the common wire of the harness.
2. Connect the normally open wire of the switch to the door position wire of the harness.
Note:Thethirdwire(normallyclosed)ofthe3287ConcealedDoorStatusSwitch
is not used for this type of system.
Step #4 – Latch Bolt, Stop Plate and/or Weather Conduit Installation
A. Fire rated doors:
IMPORTANT: Fire stop plate is required for all fire rated doors.
1.Installlatchwithbeveledboltfacingthestrike.
2. Attach with two screws. DO NOT tighten completely at this time.
3. Attach fire stop plate (part number 52-0033) using two screws (Fig. 4A).
B. Non-fire rated exterior doors:
1.Useweatherconduit(partnumber52-2847).
2.Installusingholeforribboncablefromkeyboardtocontroller(Fig.4B)

To remove only the outside lever:
1.Insertkey,rotate45°clockwiseandhold(Fig.7A-1).
2.Depressleverretainerwithprovidedpushpintool(Fig.7A-2).
Step #7 – Remove Outside Lever Only
1. With outside lever in hand, using standard pliers,
pull out cylinder retainer.
2.Removekeyandcylinderfromlever.
3. Insert new cylinder.
4. Secure by pressing cylinder retainer flush
with the lever.

1A. If this is a wood door, feed wires up through the routed
channel (Fig. 6A - 1A).
1B. If this is a metal door (not shown), feed wire and connector
through inside of door and out the hole on the outside of
the door.
2. Attach inside rose assembly and spacer bushing Fig. 6A - 2)
3. Secure with screws, as shown at right.

1A. For fire rated doors only, feed ribbon cable connector and
groundwirefromoutsideofdoorthroughweathersealgasket
(if used). Then, feed through fire stop plate.
1B. For non-fire rated doors only, feed ribbon cable connector
and ground wire from outside of door through weather seal
gasket(ifused).Theninstallconduitsleeveindoor.
2.Slidetheoutsideescutcheonoverthelockandholdthe
escutcheon to the door surface.
3.Verifywhiteplasticcylinderspacer(notshown)isinserted
intohorizontalslotoflockbody.
4.Slidetheoutsideleverontotubewithkeyhorizontal(towardlatch).
Rotatekey45ºclockwise.
5. Push lever until lever catch is engaged.

1. Set controller options prior to installing inside escutcheon.
Note: Options for S1 and SW2 are provided in Controller Switch table (below).

3.Feedexcessribboncableandgroundwirethroughinsidedoorholeandinto
outside escutcheon cavity, being careful not to pinch wires (Fig. 10A and 10B).
NOTE: Connectors go on only one way. Do not offset connector and
be sure they are completely seated.
4.Inserttwo#8-32screws(Fig.10B)throughtopandbottomofinside
escutcheon. Thread into outside escutcheon. Straighten escutcheons
and tighten securely being careful to avoid pinching wires.
5. Slide the inside lever onto the tube.
6. Tighten two latch screws completely.

Power and Door Wiring
This diagram depicts the power and door wiring of the v.N1 system. Earth ground and power supply ground must be common
betweenthepowersuppliesthatpowerthev.N1componentsandtheelectronicaccesscontrolsystem;however,these
grounds must not be common to each other.
The wiring for each door consists of five connections between the interface module and the controller inside of the door.
Connectionsforanexternaldoorpositionswitch(ifrequired)arealsowiredtothedoorthroughthehinge.

This diagram depicts the specific door wiring of the v.N1 System. The wiring from the Interface Module to the door
shouldconformtotheguidelinesspecifiedinthev.N1UserManualA7817:
• DataAandDataBareRS485andshouldberunontheirownshieldedcable.
• TheshieldshouldbeterminatedatEGNDattheinterfacemodule.

Interface Module
The interface module is an integral part of v.N1 architecture. The diagram on the following page provides common locations
of installation and should clarify integration confusion.
Note:Foracompleteguidetoallexternalconnections,refertothev.N1UserManual(documentnumberA7817).
1) TS2 and TS3 provide physical connection points to each door. If using power supplied by the interface board, all five
connectionsarenecessary.Ifnot,DONOTconnecta12V(or24V)signal.Theseconnectionsare,fromtoptobottom,in
reverse order on each side of the board. In this fashion, they are interchangeable. Be sure to remember this point when
wiring the doors.
2)Doorposition,requesttoexit,andlockarealldrycontactsignals(basicN/Orelayoutputs),sopolaritydoesnotmatter.The
v.N1systemprovidesDPSandREXasrelayoutputsfromtheinterfacemodule.Theaccesscontrolsystemprovidesthelock
signalasarelayoutputfromtheaccesscontrolpanel.SoundandLEDaredigitalsignals;theinterfaceboardanticipatesan
activehighoractivelowsignalforactivationofthesetwooutputs.Data0andData1aredigitalsignalterminalsthattransmit
Wiegand data to the access control panel. These connections are interchangeable (from left to right across the top, and they
are the reverse of those found across the bottom, from left to right).
3)ThisnumberindicateswheretheDIPswitchsettingsfortheinterfacemodulearelocated.Theyincludethesettingforsound,
tamperandLEDonS1.OnS2,thesesettingsincludetheactivationforeachdoor.
