Installation procedure
The STINGER310 kit contains the followingitems:
Systembase unit with pre-connectedPowerand
PIR cablesandintegral NiMHbattery
PassiveInfra Red(PIR) movement detector with
mountingframeanddecorative trim
2 x KeyFobcontrollers
User Instructions
Kit contents
Thefollowingproceduredescribesthetypical installation methodfor mostcaravans.However, asthe
STINGER310 is designedto suite manyapplications it is not limitedto this methodonly.
ThePIRshouldbemounted150mmto 350mmfromthefloor, inacentral location lookingdown the
'alley' of thecaravan.Thebaseunit shouldbelocatednearthePIRunit(withinreachof the1200mm
PIR cable)in aposition where the unit can beaccessedfor servicing,but is out of sight.
Typical arrangements arethePIRmountedinthefront floor mountedlocker betweenthebedsandthe
baseunit mountedin the offside bedbox.
Cuta50mmmountinghole for thePIRensuringadequate spacearoundtheholefor themountingplate
anddecorativetrim.
Cuta40to 50mmholein the caravan floor directly below thesirenoutlet inthebottom of thesystem
baseunit.
Fit avent tubeor otherwater repellinggrill /deviceto thefloor hole to stopwater ingressinto the
caravan floor structure (not supplied).
Position thesystembaseunit overthe preparedhole ensuringtheunitisorientatedasperthediagram
on thetopof theunit, andsecureinto position with4screws(not supplied).Ensuretheuser canaccess
andremove the cross fixingbolt for servicingetc.
Fit the PIRintothemountingplatewith theletter ‘A’at thetop. For different installations thePIR can
berotated at 90 degintervals to providedifferent coveragepatterns.‘A’ gives forwardandupcoverage,
‘B’givescurtain to the rightcoverage, ‘C’givesforwardanddowncoveragewhen thePIRismounted
high up, and‘D’ givecurtain to theleft coverage.
RoutethePIRcableto thePIR mountinghole andpluginto theback ofthePIR.Clipthecableto the
caravan structure asrequired.
Mount the PIRusing2 screws (not supplied) andfit thedecoratetrim(clicksin place).
With theleisure batterydisconnectedandthecaravan charger turnedoff, plugthesystembaseunit
powercableinto theexistingsupply inthecaravan (where applicable)or usetheadaptor cable to hard
wire into thecaravancircuit.Nevercut thealarm plugoff thecable,asthiswillpreventservicingand
coulddamagetheunit.Thewiresintheconnector areallocatedas follows:red wire12v supply (fuse
at 5Amax), blackwire Negative supply,2xgrey wiresaretheswitchingcontacts for theawninglight
control.Connectone greywire toeach sideof theawning/entry light switchto allowthealarmto
control the light.
Installation isnow complete.

Open thesystembaseunit byremovingthetwo screwson the topof thelidandremovingthecrossbolt
from the side (10mmspanner required).
Turn thebackupbattery switch,which islocatedon thebattery mountingplateatone end,to theon
position (I).
If you are addingextrakeyfobsto thesystem(more than thetwo suppliedas standard)now isthetime
to ‘learn’ the extra fobs as per the separateinstruction.
Replace the lid, screwsandcrossfixingbolt.
Reconnect theleisure batteryandwhererequiredturn thecaravan charger on.
Allow 2 minutes frominitial switch-on for the system to stabilise.
Exit the caravan andreadthe user instructionsso that you know how to operate the alarm.
Armthe alarm by pressingthe keyfobpower button (indicatedbyone beep)
Wait 45 seconds for the alarm toset.
Walkinto the caravan towards the PIR, checkingthat thesiren operates.
Pressthekey fobpower buttonto cancel thesiren (indicatedby3 beeps).
Commisioning
Connectivityreferenceinformation
As standard,thealarmsystem hastwo4-way connectors,aplugto connect to the12V supplyandthe
awninglight, andasocket to connectto otherequipment such asatracker.Thefollowingdiagram
showstheseconnections.
In addition to theaboveconnections,extra connectivityisavailable insidethe unit for morecomplex
installation or when specialsignalsare required.Theseareshown below.Theawninglight switching
contacts are ratedat3A max.Allsignals are rated3mAmax.For further detail specification
information please contact us.
