ThenremovetheVRcoveronthebackoftheprinterand
performthefollowingsteps.

STEPS
1AttachtheconnectorfromtheTPTestModuletothe
testportontheMAINPCB.Notecorrectpositioning
ofconnector.Nibsontheconnectorareplaceddown
onthePCBintheforwardposition.
2AttachthegroundprobeoftheDigitalMultimeterto
theTPTestModulegroundpin(GNDPIN).
3AttachpositiveprobeoftheMultimetertothe+SIG
PINontheTPTestModuleterminal.
4Turnprinterpoweronandrotatethedialtoadial
POSontheTPTestModule.Recordthevaluesfrom
theMultimeter.
5Confirmvoltagesarecorrect.Ifnot,thenreplace
partsoradjustmentsensorlevel.RefertoCheckand
Adjustmentchart.
6Afterperformingtest,puttheVRcoverbackto
theprinter.

Excessiveribbonunwindandrewindtensionwill resultin
variablemotionandcouldbethecauseofprintquality
problems.Ensuretheribbonrewindandunwindtensions
arewithinspecificationsoradjustmentofeitherclutchis
necessary.
STEPS
1SwitchtheprinterOFF anddisconnectthepower
cable.
2Openthetopandfrontaccess door.Removethe
ribbonandlabelstockifinstalled.
3Attachstringtoanemptyribboncoreandplace
ontheRibbonSpindle.Windthestringtightlyaround
theribboncoreinsinglelayerandinclockwisedirection.
Attachtheendofthestringtothetensionguage.
4Graduallyliftthetensiongauge,pull thestringand
unwinditfromthecore.Once thespindlestartsto
move,thegaugeshouldindicate500 to700 gramsof
tensionforribbonrewind,and400 and500 gramsof
tensionforribbonunwind.Refertopictureinnextpage.
5To adjusttheclutch,loosenthelockingscrewand
movetheadjustnutCWformoretensionandCCW
forless tension.Tightenthelockingscrewandrepeat
steps3and4until thecorrecttensionisachieved.
