Troubleshooting
Faults Possible Causes Remedies
UVinex™
System not
oprating
a) UV is not plugged in
b) GFCI switch (ground fault
circuit interrupt) has tripped
c) Domestic fuse has blown
d) UVinex™ bulb needs
replacing
e) UVinex™ transformer has
failed
a) Connect UV plug to a working outlet
b) Reset GFCI. If this occurs often consult an
electrician
c) Replace the fuse or the reset circuit breaker. If
this occurs often consult an electrician
d) Replace bulb
e) Replace transformer
Transformer
Light RED
a) Bulb not connected to
transformer
b) UVinex™ bulb needs
replacing
c) Transformer needs to be
reset
a) Unplug from the electrical circuit. Unscrew
junction box and reconnect bulb into
transformer, reassemble and restart
b) Replace Bulb
c) Unplug transformer from the circuit
Bulb not lit
a) Coating is cracked or
broken
b) UVinex™ bulb needs
replacing
c) Transformer needs to be
reset
a) Check coating for signs of breakage or
cracks. Replace bulb
b) Replace bulb
c) Unplug transformer from circuit allow 2
minutes and restart

System trips
GFCI
a) Bulb coating is cracked or
broken
b) Too much output for the
electrical outlet
a) Replace bulb
b) Unplug any other items plugged into the
same circuit. Have an electrician check circuit

clearing up/
clarifying
a) Not enough UV output
b) Too much calcium buildup
c) Not enough Bio-
Mechanical Filtration
d) Needs additional time for
extreme buildup
a) Check UV output ratio to pond gallons and
pump output (GPH). Additional wattage needed
b) Wipe UV coating with a clean cloth to
remove build-up
c) Check your pond gallons and waste
accumulation to the amount of ltration
needed. Add additional ltration
d) If starting UV system under extreme algae
buildup - allow additional time for clarication.
