information. They will help you to make the best use of all the functions on
your charging device.
2.3. Use
The LAVOSCH BASIC 350 (LVSB 350) and LAVOSCH Controlled 350 (LVSC 350) automatic cable
reels with integrated charging electronics have been designed exclusively for charging electric
vehicles (EV) in accordance with IEC 62196. Charging is AC charging, with maximum power
depending on the type of charging station.
The charging station is intended for use in private and semi-public areas, such as private properties,
company car parks or company yards with restricted access. If installed correctly, it can also be
used by untrained persons.
Charging stations LVSB 350 and LVSC 350 have a retractable charging cable with a type 2 plug.
The cable is only pulled out when required and only to the length required. The rest remains neatly
stored on the cable reel and is protected from contamination and damage. The charging port is
always accessible, but never in the way. The cable length can be adjusted to suit changing parking
situations. If the charging connection is no longer needed, a short pull on the cable stop is enough to
neatly roll up the charging cable. The automatic cable reel ensures greater safety and tidiness.
The charging station can be swivel-mounted on a wall, pillar or similar and can also be mounted on
the ceiling.
2.4. Safety notices
Work on the appliance may only be carried out by persons who are familiar with it, have been
informed about the dangers and are competent persons, e.g. electricians.
In particular, the generally applicable safety and accident prevention regulations as well as fire
protection must be observed.
The electrical connection may only be made by a qualified electrician (in accordance with DIN VDE
1000-10)! In particular, the local safeguards as well as the valid VDE and EN regulations and, in the

public sector, also the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV) regulations must be observed!
The corresponding safety checks must be carried out and recorded.
You may have to register your installation with your grid operator before commissioning your
charging station!
Notice
According to DIN VDE 0100-722 (VDE 0100-722):2013-01, a separate
circuit must be set up for each charging point (IEC 60364-7-722: Low-
voltage electrical installations - Part 7-722: Requirements for special
installations or locations –Supply of electric vehicle)
Each charging point must be equipped with separate line protection and a
separate residual current device (RCD)
The supply line and the associated line protection (fuse protection) must be determined according to
the desired charging current, the cable type, the cable lengths and the local and standardised
regulations.
Both the upstream fuse protection and the voltage drop due to long cable lengths must be taken into
account when selecting the cable cross-section of current-carrying conductors.
The circuit must be protected by a residual current device (RCD) of at least type A with a tripping
current of 30 mA (e.g. ABB F204 A-40/0.03)
The residual current device (RCD) must be installed in the charging device upstream of the supply
line to the reel, e.g. in the house distribution system.
The charging electronics in the vehicle can generate a DC fault current which would not be detected
by the type A residual current device. The reel has an integrated DC monitor to protect against these
residual DC currents. This component detects DC fault currents and trips the residual current device
in the event of a fault. An AC/DC sensitive residual current device (type B) is not required!
i
Application information
There are electric vehicles that generate a high fault current while
charging. This may cause the residual current device (RCD) installed in
the distributor to trip sporadically.
This can be remedied with a residual current device that is immune to these
spikes.

•The charging device needs to be reset if it does not react to a
transponder. This is done by removing the operating voltage, e.g. by
actuating the upstream line protection or RCD.
4.4. Locking
As standard, the cable reel is equipped with a cable lock that can be deactivated. The locking
mechanism works with a spring catch. This ensures that the cable can be locked in place at a
certain extension length. The EV can be connected and charged without pulling on the cable.
•While the cable is being pulled out, a spring catch runs over snap cams and produces an
audible ratchet. This indicates that it is possible to lock the cable in place.
•To lock the cable, move it against the direction of extension while ratcheting. The spring catch
will engage in the snap cam and blocks the winding device.
•To release the lock and retract the cable, pull the cable in the pull-out direction until the spring
catch is free (the ratchet cannot be heard). Then slowly let the cable retract against the pull-out
direction.
Notice
Do not let go of the cable when unreeling it or letting it retract again.
