Indication of lights - Li-Po Charge Status
LED1 – (bottom green) Signal of full battery charge. This LED lights up when charging process is finished. n that time Switch has to be ON and
power has to be from BEC.
LED2 – (top green) Power from BEC. This LED lights up when power will be only from BEC. n that time Switch has to be ON.
LED3 – (red) Power from battery. This LED lights up when power will be only from battery. Switch has to be ON.
LED4 – (yellow) Charging of battery from BEC. This LED lights up when the charging process is happening. n that time Switch has to be ON and
power has to be from BEC.
Connecting your Scorpion Backup Guard
Simply connect the DC 5V Output to any empty socket on the receiver. f all the sockets are being used, use a Y-harness wire to connect to
any servo output socket.
*** (But do not plug into the S-Bus channel port. This
will drain the Backup Guard II battery without
charging.) ***
Using your Scorpion Backup Guard II
Before use, you can charge up the 2S Li-Po battery or
let the Backup Guard Power Board charge up by the
main battery when operating, the charge rate will be 0.5A
Turn on backup guard after you power up your BEC system
(see connecting your Scorpion Backup Guard)
Power off Scorpion Backup Guard first then you can power off the BEC system or ESC after flight
Always turn Backup Guard on last, and turn OFF to identify whether your BEC system is functioning properly.
How Scorpion Backup Guard II works
Make sure BEC output voltage on the helicopter or plane has an output of more than 5.5V, otherwise it will drain the Scorpion Backup Guard
in flight. BEC failure occur, the Scorpion 5V output will take over and continue to power the radio system.
Maintenance for your Scorpion Backup Guard
Because of the DC 5V is a one-way output, whenever the main power unit output voltage is higher than DC 5.5V, the Scorpion Backup Guard
will not be drained by the power consumption of the radio system.
For maintenance, it only needs to make regular check on the balance of the internal 2S Li-Po battery. f you will not use the backup guard for a
long period of time, please keep the battery level at 50% charged and remember to charge up to 8.4v before you use it.
