instructions, and properly maintained, give you years of trouble free performance.

1. SAFETY
1.1. ELECTRICAL SAFETY
WARNING! It is the user’s responsibility to check the following:
Check all electrical equipment and appliances to ensure that they are safe before using. Inspect power supply leads, plugs and
all electrical connections for wear and damage. Sealey recommend that an RCD (Residual Current Device) is used with all electrical
products. You may obtain an RCD by contacting your local Sealey stockist.
If the product is used in the course of business duties, it must be maintained in a safe condition and routinely PAT (Portable
Appliance Test) tested.
Electrical safety information, it is important that the following information is read and understood.
Ensure that the insulation on all cables and on the appliance is safe before connecting it to the power
supply.
Regularly inspect power supply cables and plugs for wear or damage and check all connections to ensure
that they are secure.
Important: Ensure that the voltage rating on the appliance suits the power supply to be used and that the
plugisttedwiththecorrectfuse-seefuseratingintheseinstructions.
8DO NOT pull or carry the appliance by the power cable.
8DO NOT pull the plug from the socket by the cable.
8DO NOT use worn or damaged cables, plugs or connectors. Ensure that any faulty item is repaired or is
replacedimmediatelybyaqualiedelectrician.

If the cable or plug is damaged during use, switch off the electricity supply and remove from use.

a)ConnecttheGREEN/YELLOWearthwiretotheearthterminal‘E’.
b)ConnecttheBROWNlivewiretotheliveterminal‘L’.
c)ConnecttheBLUEneutralwiretotheneutralterminal‘N’.
Ensure that the cable outer sheath extends inside the cable restraint and that the restraint is tight.
Sealeyrecommendthatrepairsarecarriedoutbyaqualiedelectrician.
1.2 GENERAL SAFETY
9Familiarise yourself with the product’s application and limitations, as well as the specific potential hazards peculiar to the machine.
WARNING! Ensure all Health and Safety, local authority, and general workshop practice regulations are strictly adhered to.
WARNING! Disconnect from the mains power supply before changing accessories, servicing or performing any maintenance.
WARNING! DO NOT sand any materials containing asbestos.
WARNING! Wearapprovedsafetyeye/faceprotection.Ifdustisgeneratedrespiratoryprotectionmustbeworn.
9Maintain the sander and keep in good condition (use an authorised service agent).
9Check the alignment of moving parts regularly, for safest performance keep the sander clean at all times.
9 Usethecorrecttypeandsizeofsandingdiscforthissander.
9 Beforeeachusechecksandingdiscforcondition.Ifwornordamagedreplaceimmediately.
9 Replaceorrepairdamagedparts.Usegenuinepartsonly.Non-authorisedpartsaredangerousandwillinvalidatethewarranty.
9Locate the sander in a suitable area, keep area clean, uncluttered and ensure there is adequate lighting.
9The sander is for indoor use only. DO NOT get the sander wet or use in a damp location.
9Ensure the sander is situated on a solid work surface, adequate for supporting the weight of both the sander and the workpiece.
9Ensure there are no flammable or combustible materials near the work area.
9Remove ill fitting clothing, ties and loose jewellery, and tie back long hair.
9 Maintaincorrectbalanceandfooting,ensurethefloorisnotslipperyandwearnon-sliprubbersoledfootwear.
9Keep hands and body clear of the worktable when operating the sander.
9Ensure there are no nails, screws etc. protruding from the surface to be sanded.
8DO NOT operate the sander when you are tired, under the influence of alcohol, drugs or intoxicating medication.
8DO NOT leave the sander running unattended.
9Hold workpiece firmly, avoiding hand positions where a slip may cause your hand to come into contact with the sanding disc.
8DO NOT modify or change the sander motor for one with a different rating.
8DO NOT turn the sander on until work table is clear of all objects, wood scraps etc.

8DO NOT touch the sanding disc whilst operating, or whilst sander is plugged into the mains power.
8DO NOT switch the sander on while the workpiece is in contact with the sanding disc.
8DO NOT operate the sander if any parts are damaged or missing as this may cause failure or possible personal injury.
8DO NOT allow children or untrained persons to operate the sander. Keep them away from the work area.

4. ASSEMBLY
4.1. Unpackthesanderandcheckcontentsagainstthelistbelow.If there are any damaged or missing parts contact your supplier
immediately.

4.2. Removevariousscrews(fig.1parts1-4)fromthesanderassembly,
fittable(A)inpositionandretainbyreplacingscrews.Thetableshouldalwayshaveatleast1.6mmclearancefromthesandingdisc,
adjustment can be made by loosening the six cross head bolts in the face of the table top.
4.3. Ifadustextractionsystemisavailable,connectittotheextractionport(diameter52mm).
4.4. The mitre gauge, when required, locates in the table groove.
WARNING!Beforeuse,themachinemustbepositionedonastable,fireproofbenchortablewhichisstrongenoughtotaketheweight
of the machine and the workpiece. The sander is supplied with rubber feet, alternatively it can be bolted to a work surface.
Failure to comply with this instruction could result in severe personal injury.
5. OPERATION
5.1. Ensure that you have read, understand and apply the safety instructions in Section 1.
WARNING!Beforeeachuserotatethesandingdiscbyhandtocheckitisundamagedandsecure.Removeadjustingkeysand
wrenches before turning the machine on.
5.2. TABLE ADJUSTMENT
5.2.1. Thetableisadjustablethrough45°byslackeningthetwolockingleverhandles(fig.1.3.)-bothrighthandthread,adjustingthetableto
the required angle and then fully tightening both handles.
5.3. MITRE GAUGE ADJUSTMENT
5.3.1. Thegaugeisadjustablethrough±45°byslackeningthethumbscrew,adjustingtorequiredangleandtighteningthethumbscrew.
5.4. OPERATING THE SANDER
5.4.1. Feed workpiece carefully into the sanding disc, work methodically and DO NOT force the sander to remove material faster than it was
designed for. Hold workpiece with both hands and ensure that they are not in a position where they could slip up against the sanding disc.
5.4.2. Ensure large workpieces are supported at table height.
5.4.3. Turn sander off and make sure sanding disc is stationary before clearing scrap pieces from the table.
6. MAINTENANCE
6.1. The sander is maintenance free and only requires cleaning using a vacuum cleaner and brush.
6.2. Occasionally check sander over for loose fittings and to ensure sanding disc is secure.
