Present day traffic conditions require pay-
ing the utmost attention when driving on
the public road network.
Due to the numerous and carefully
designed items, modern car audio sets
not only offer a wide range of leisure
options but also a variety of information
on traffic and road conditions, etc.

Unfortunately, more than once the fact of
changing a tape or looking for a particular
tape while driving have led to critical situ-
ations.
The car audio volume must also be at a
level that allows us to hear clearly any
outside sounds.

Up to now any time the radio set was
taken apart or the car battery was discon-
nected the anti theft code had to be intro-
duced manually.
The new comfort coding for the car audio
set has brought a change. After having
introduced the code for the first time, the
car also memorises the number.
If the current supply has been cut off, the
car audio set automatically cross checks
its code with the code memorised by the
vehicle. If both codes coincide, it only
takes a few seconds for the radio to be
back in operation.
You do not need to unlock the set elec-
tronically!
Should the code numbers not coincide,
for instance if the car audio has been fit-
ted on a different car then obviously the
set must be encoded manually.

To switch DS on or off, press button
DS.
When it is switched on " DS ON" shows
on display.
When switching it off " DS OFF" shows
briefly on display.
With the DS off the tuner set does not
switch automatically to alternative fre-
quencies.
If you switch on the radio with the DS off
" DS OFF" will show briefly on display.
•
Every time you select a new frequency
e.g.: station search, pretuning buttons,
etc., the DS is automatically switched
on.
With the DS on we can also tune into
non- DS stations.

When the DS function is on an DS
broadcasting station is tuned in. The fre-
quency is displayed in the first place. And
once the tuner has analysed all the infor-
mation the station’s abbreviated name is
displayed instead of the frequency.
•
The DS function on or off can be mem-
orised together with the station selected
by using the pre-tuning buttons.

Some channels broadcast also regional or
local programs.
The radio tries to tune into the alternative
frequencies of the selected station only.
If the quality is so poor that the station
starts to fade, then the tuner also accepts
"neighbouring" station frequencies. As
these local stations may be broadcasting
different programs at certain time slots it
may happen that we end up listening to a
different programme.
This is why the radio tuners have been
programmed so that the DS only selects
local or regional stations broadcasting
the exact same program.
•
But, should a change of this kind take
place, then the Auto EG setting from the
menu must be activated (see page 10).

(e.g.: mountain drive) the set will fre-
quently try to tune into alternative fre-
quencies and this may cause brief broad-
cast interruptions.

the alternative frequencies. If none of the
alternative frequencies is interference
free, then the DS will also be interfered.

To memorise DS stations all you need to
do is press the pre-tuning button when
the name of the station shows on display.
In this way we can be sure that all the DS
information has been analysed and auto-
matically memorised.

sta-
tions the name will be displayed. If the
frequency memorised is not correctly
tuned in the set will select an adequate
alternative frequency.
If none of the alternative frequency can be
tuned in properly, then you cannot listen
to that station so you have to select a dif-
ferent station.

If a different station to the one of your
choice is tuned in the memorised fre-
quency, the 22 pre-tuning button indica-
tion is switched off on the display.
