It is possible that some of the functions
described in this manual correspond only
to one model of car radio.
References to any specific car radio that
may appear in this manual refer only to
the specific functions of that car radio.
RRaaddiioo CCaarrdd
TThhee ccaarr rraaddiioo ddooccuummeennttss
Contain the model, serial and code num-
ber for codification.
The serial number is identical to the num-
ber engraved on the side of the equip-
ment.
The Radio Card credits ownership, and, in
case of loss, facilitates police search and
accelerates reimbursement by insurance
companies.
Keep your Radio Card in a safe place.
Never leave it in the car.
AAnnttii--tthheefftt pprrootteeccttiioonn
CCooddiiffyyiinngg
If the car radio is separated from the bat-
tery (e.g. when changing the battery in a
workshop) when the code has been acti-
vated (see PROG-System chapter) it will
be electronically blocked.
It can only be operated again if the code
number is re-activated.
RReemmoovviinngg tthhee ccoonnttrrooll ppaanneell
As well as codifying the radio, you can
remove and replace the control panel.
This makes the radio less attractive to
thieves.
LLuummiinnoouuss ssaaffeettyy ppiilloott
If this option is activated (it has to be
selected), as long as the radio or the igni-
tion are switched off, the luminous safety
pilot will flash. See the chapter on PROG-
System.

Hold the control panel and press the eject
button

. The control panel is ejected out-
wards into your hand.
If you remove the control panel while the
radio is working, it switches off automati-
cally.

First place the control panel by fitting the
knobs at the bottom, and then pushing in
the upper side until the catch locks.
If the radio does not come on with the
main switch, remove the panel and put it
back again.

After switching the radio off and removing
the ignition key, press the main switch

The radio will then work for 1 hour and will
switch off automatically at the end of this
time. Turning the ignition key during this
period will cancel this function.
To switch off the radio before one hour is
up, press the main switch

again.
The radio can be switched on at any time.

The car radio may be connected to a
mobile or radio telephone.
Wile these accessories are being used the
volume is adjusted to the level recorded
in the PROG-System. Toner, fader and bal-
ance may be adjusted in this mode. Any
altered values are recorded in the mem-
ory. See PROG-System” chapter (muting
the radio). The display will read PHONE”.

While these accessories are being used
the radio remains silent. PHONE”
appears on the display.

The radio is fitted with the PROG system
to make operating easier. This can be
used to make a series of adjustments that
only need to be done once or in certain
circumstances.
FFuunnccttiioonn ccoonnffiirrmmaattiioonn
This radio is designed in the factory to
give a short confirmation beep when cer-
tain keys are pressed.
The PROG-System” chapter explains how
to switch off this beep using the BEEP”
(beep off) function.
Instead of a beep the loudspeakers will go
silent for a moment when you press these
keys.

Use the main switch
AA
to alter volume and
adjust fader (FAD), balance (BAL), bass
(BASS) and treble (TREB).
The function you have chosen is shown in
the display.
Keep the key pressed to achieve the aver-
age value (this is shown by a beep).
For example: bass:
Briefly press the BASS key:
You can now use the main switch to alter
the bass level.
To return to the average bass value, keep
the BASS key pressed until you hear a
beep.
OOppeerraattiinngg mmooddeess
You may switch between several sources:
– Radio (swiches FM/AM”

and RDS”)
– Cassette (switch TAPE/CD”)
– CD changer (if fitted) (switch TAPE/
CD”)
If a CD changer is fitted and there is a tape
in the cassette, you switch between these
two sources with the switch TAPE/CD”.
For example:
You are listening to the radio. Push the
TAPE/CD” switch and the cassette will
switch on. If you press the same switch
again the cassette will stop and the CD
will come on.
To go back to the radio use the FM/AM”
1)
or RDS” switches (not valid for head-
phone mode).

and highlight as you wish, as described
above. While you are in the adjustment
mode for each of these values, press the
pre-tuning key where you wish to record
