The series number is identical to the num-
ber printed on the side of the set housing.
The radio card gives proof of the property
of the set, helps police search should the
set be lost and speeds up the compensa-
tion paperwork with the insurance com-
pany.

System") the car audio is removed from
the battery (for instance, when replacing
the battery at a workshop) the set will be
electronically blocked.

With the car audio set off and the contact
key removed press main control

In this way, the set will run for 1 hour and
will switch itself off automatically after
this time. If you turn the key in the contact
during this hour period will disconnect
the function (limited time function).
To switch off the set before the hour has
elapsed press the main control

again.
You can switch on the set any time you
wish.
With the car audio set on and the key in
the lock but without the contact on the set
will remain on for 2 hours and will switch
itself off automatically after this period of
time.

The car audio set can be connected to a
mobile phone or a radio-telephone.
While these accessories are in operation
the volume is reduced to the P OG-
System set volume. In this operation
mode you can set the tone, fader, and bal-
ance values. Changed values are stored in
memory. See chapter "P OG-System" (car
audio muting). The screen will display
"PHONE".

To help handling the car audio includes
the P OG system. It allows you to carry
out settings which are only required once
or incidentally.
CCoonnffiirrmmiinngg ffuunnccttiioonnss
This car audio is factory set so that when
you activate certain keys a brief confirma-
tion signal is heard.
In the "P OG-System" chapter you will
find out how to get rid off this warning
signal with the "BEEP" function (Beep off).
Now, instead of a warning signal, when
you press the keys the loud speakers will
mute.

With the main control
AA
you can adjust
the volume and the balance (BAL) bass
(BASS) and treble (T EB).
The selected function shows up on the
display screen.
If you keep the adjust-key pressed you
achieve the average value (it is shown by
the functions confirmation signal).
For instance, bass adjusting:
Press the BASS key briefly.
Now, with then main control
AA
you can
change the bass performance value.
To return to the average bass value hold
the BASS key pressed until you hear the
warning sound.
OOppeerraattiioonn mmooddeess
The set allows you to switch between var-
ious sources:
– adio (BAND and " DS" keys)
– Cassette ("S C" key)
– CD changer (if provided) ("CD" key)
If you are provide with a CD changer con-
nected to the car audio, and a cassette
inserted, you can switch directly between
both sources of sound by using the "S C"
and "CD" keys.
For instance:
If when listening to the radio you briefly
press key "S C" the cassette will switch
on. By pressing the "CD" key the cassette
will stop and the "CD" function will be
switched on.
To return to the radio function again you
need to use the "BAND" or " DS" keys.

With the P OG system selected you can
see the functions related to that particular
level.

storing in memory or activating pro-
grammes, play adjustments, PTY code sta-
tions search and for switching on and off
the anti-theft protection (Code).

The pre-tune 1 ... 5 keys allow you to reg-
ister tune settings as well as sound distri-
bution to left/right.
When you select the key used to register a
sound setting, playback will take place
according to the values registered.

Carry out the bass, treble and balance set-
tings as described previously. While car-
rying out one of these settings, hold the
pre-tune key pressed down (for instance:
1) where you wish to register the settings
until you hear the confirmation signal.
"SOUND" will be displayed on the screen.
The set values will be stored in memory.

Press on of the BAL, T EB, or BASS keys
and then the pre-tune key with the setting
for the values you wish to call up (for

you can switch from the "FM1" memory

can switch from the " DS1" memory
bases to the " DS2" and vice-versa.

The LEA N memory allows you to store up
to 25 DS stations ( adio Data System).
These stations can be tuned by briefly
pressing the and search keys.
This function makes sense if you are mov-
ing through a non-habitual area and you
do not wish to delete the stations tuned
into the memory keys (1 to 6) you are
used to listening to.

Press the DS key until you hear a confir-
mation signal.
"L N" will be displayed on screen.
The tuner searches the FM band and
memorizes the DS programmes (up to a
maximum of 25) being broadcast in the
area you are currently.
Next, the set switches over to the best
tuning DS programme.
If you also press the TP key you will only
tune in to DS programmes broadcasting
traffic announcements.

Press one of the or keys. The
screen will briefly display " DS SCAN".
Next you will listen to another DS pro-
gramme from the LEA N memory.
