INSTRUCTION

1.FEATURES
●Cal. S149issuitablefor measuringmassive timedate
inaroadrace,marathonrace,etc.
①Withtheuseofthebuilt-inprinter,themeasured
timedatacanbeprintedoutassoonastheyare
obtained.
②Year,month,dateandtimewhenthemeasurementis
startedcanbeprintedout,andtherefore,itiseasytofile
andkeepthedata.
③Anautostartfunctionisprovided.Bypresettingthe
timewhenthemeasurementisstarted,thestopwatch
startsmeasuringautomaticallyatthedesignatedtime.
④Memoryrecallfunction……Upto300measurement
datacanbestoredinmemory.Measurementdata
obtainedfromthestarttofinishofthemeasurement
isrecordedasablockwithouterasingthedatainthe
previousblock,andupto100blocksofdatacanbe
storedinmemory.
Thisfunctionisvery useful forseparatelykeeping
thedatameasuredatdifferenttimeanddate.
⑤Besides,thestopwatchisequippedwithsuch
convenientfunctionsasID No. functionusefulfor
keepingthe data ofindividual usersseparately, and
memorycapacityindicatorandfastestlaptimerecall
functions.
⑥Anantibacterialagentisappliedtothecasesurfaceof
thestopwatches.
*Itlosesitsantibacterialeffectgraduallyovertimeandthe
effectiveperioddiffersdependingon theconditionsof
use.
●Usedwithoptionaldevices,thestopwatchcanperform
variousfunctions.
①By connecting the stopwatch to SEIKO Digital
StopwatchCal. S143,etc.,morethantwostopwatches
canstartmeasuringsimultaneouslyatafixedtime.
Therefore,itispossibletomeasurethetimeinaroadrace
ormarathonatdifferentcheckpointsmoreaccurately.
②Connectedwith a gripswitch(optionalaccessory),the
stopwatchcanbeoperatedmoreeasily.
③Withtheuseofapaperextensionholder(optional
accessory),massivetimedata(approximately2,500data)
canbemeasuredsuccessivelyatatime.
SEIKODigitalStopwatchCal.S149isatimemeasuringdevicethatcanrecordthe
measurementswith the use of thebuilt-in printer. In addition,used withthe
stopwatchCal.S143oragripswitch,Cal.S149canperformvariousfunctions.

・The memory clear function is useful in
thefollowingcases.
a)When the stored data becomes
unnecessary.
b)When the residual memory is not
sufficientforanewmeasurement.
・Once the following steps are taken to
clear the data, all the stored data is
erased from memory. The stored data
cannotbeerasedonebyoneorblockby
block.
①While the stopwatch is measuring or
when the digits are not reset after the
endofthemeasurement,thestoreddata
cannotbeerasedfrommemory.
In that case, end the measurement and
resetthestopwatch.

In the memory recall display, the stored
datacanbeerasedirrespectiveofwhich

graphically by the memory capacity
indicator.
・Besides the measured lap times/split
times, the start time data and block
number are also retained in memory as
twoseparatedata.Therefore,ablockof
dataincludesatleastthreedata.Ifmore
thanoneblockisusedtostorethedata,
thememorybecomefullevenbeforethe
number of lap time/split time
measurements in memory amounts to
300.

●How to read the memory capacity
indicator
Thenumberofdatastoredinmemoryis
displayedgraphically with a10-segment
bar.
Eachsegmentofthebarcorrespondsto30
data. The segments are displayed one
by one from the bottom to indicate the
numberofdatainmemory.
●When the memory reaches its full
capacity:
・All the segments of the bar are
displayed.
・The 301st data and those measured
thereafterwillbedisplayedbutwillnotbe

6.HOWTOPRINTOUT
1.Howtosetthepaperintheprinter
●Besides the thermal paper S950 included
withthismodel,thethermalpaperS951is
availableforprintingoutthestoreddata.Itis
a long-type thermal paper that can print
out up to 2,800 lines, and sold for ¥578.
To use S951, the paper holder SVAZ007
forexclusiveusewithitisnecessary.Itis
soldseparatelyfor¥3,990.

1Cutthe first pastedposition of the paper
straight.

2Openthepapercoverasshowninthe
illustration.
□
3Slide the power switch to "ON". At this
time, the motor runs for approximately 1
second to indicate that the power is
supplied.
□
4Insetthe end of thepaper into the paper
insertionslot.
□
5Keepthepaperadvancingswitchpressed
untiltheendofthepaperisadvancedout2
to3cmfromtheprinter.
(Donotpulloutthepaperbyforce.)

Auto start function: By presetting the time when the measurement is
started, the stopwatch automatically starts measuring at the designated

●Donottouchtheprintingsurfaceofthethermalpaper,asthesweatoroilonthepalmwillcausepoorprinting.
●BesidesthethermalpaperS950includedwiththeprinter,thethermalpaperS951isavailableforprintingoutthestoreddata.Itisa
long-typethermalpaperthatcanprintoutupto2,800lines,andsoldfor¥578(includeTax).TouseS951,thepaperholderSVAZ007
forexclusiveusewithitisnecessary.Itissoldseparatelyfor¥3,990(includeTax).

11.REMARKSONTHEBATTERIES
(1)Batterylife
Whenanew normalbattery isinstalled,the stopwatchwill
operateapproximately3years.
*Ifthestopwatchisusedformorethan3hoursaday,thebatterylifemaybe
lessthan3years.
●WhenfournewandnormalSUM-3manganesedrybatteries
areinstalled,theprintercanprintapproximately10,000lines
(approx.14rollsofpaper)ifitcontinuouslyoperatesat24℃.
Whenalkaline manganesebatteriesare used,itcan print
approximately20,000lines(approx.28rolls).
*Ittheprinterisusedatextremelylowtemperatures,thebatterypower
becomesweak,andit cannot print as many linesasitprints atnormal
temperaturerange.Itisrecommended,therefore,thatalkalinemanganese
batteriesbeusedatsuchlowtemperatures.

③Batteryreplacement is charged even if it runs downwithin

④Oncethe caseback is opened forbattery replacement or

DEALER.Whenthebatteryisreplacedwithanewone,allthe
