2. DESCRIPCIÓN
Descripción general del equipo:
El fotómetro / colorímetro es un analizador de sobremesa de tamaño
reducido.
El sistema de lectura está basado en una fuente de luz generada por
un emisor, un monocromador compuesto por ltros interferenciales y un
fotodetector de silicio con respuesta espectral limitada según caracte-
rísticas técnicas.
La señal recogida en el detector es amplicada y ltrada para eliminar
todas las interferencias y a continuación un circuito analógico realiza
una conversión para pasar a escala logarítmica según la ley de Beer
que determina la absorción de la luz por la materia.
Una vez obtenida la señal proporcional a la absorción, un convertidor
analógico/digital introduce la información al microprocesador.
El software permite la medida de absorbancia, transmitancia y concen-
tración.

2.1 DESCRIPCIÓN DEL TECLADO
El teclado es el dispositivo que nos permite enviar al instrumento datos
digitales o alfanuméricos. La tabla siguiente describe las distintas teclas
y su situación.
3. INSTALACIÓN
Situar el equipo en una supercie plana y cerca de una toma de red.
Impida que los rayos solares incidan directamente sobre el equipo.
Evite la instalación en lugares excesivamente húmedos, calientes o
polvorientos.
Antes de enchufarlo a la red, compruebe en la etiqueta de características
del equipo que la tensión de alimentación coincide con la de la red.
Realice la conexión a la red de alimentación mediante el cable suminis-
trado. Para su seguridad, asegúrese de que exista una correcta toma a
tierra en la clavija de conexión a la red.
Para sustituir el fusible, desconecte el cable de conexión a la red de ali-
mentación y acceda al portafusibles tirando de él hacia fuera. Sustituirlo
exclusivamente por un fusible de igual corriente nominal que el indicado
en la etiqueta de características.
4. FUNCIONAMIENTO
Análisis de una muestra:
• La muestra debe estar disponible en:
-Cubeta rectangular de 10mm
-Tubo de vidrio/polipropileno de Ø12 -16 mm
• Introducir la muestra en el porta-cubetas
• Seleccionar el ltro de la longitud de onda deseada.
• Seleccionar el tipo de lectura mediante el menú.
Al encender el analizador aparece la opción ABSORBANCIA del menú
general.

Realizar la lectura de la transmitancia de una muestra con el ltro selec-
cionado manualmente.
4.3 MEDIDA DE LA CONCENTRACIÓN A PARTIR DE
UN FACTOR
Realizar la medida de la concentración a partir de la absorbancia y un
factor introducido previamente. Las medidas se realizan a la longitud
de onda del ltro seleccionado manualmente. Para una mejor precisión
utilizar el mismo tipo de contenedor con agua destilada para realizar el
«blanco»

4.6 INTRODUCIR UN FACTOR DE CORRECCIÓN
Estemenúpermite laintroducciónde un factordecorrección de lalectura
de Absorbancia. El valor por defecto del factor es 1.00 y su valor debe
estar comprendido entre 0.8 y 1.2.
La entrada de este factor es útil cuando se realizan pruebas repetitivas
y se quiere ajustar la lectura de acuerdo a un patrón.

4.7 SALIDA SERIE RS-232
La salida serie RS-232 permite enviar las lecturas a un ordenador o a
una impresora. La lectura es enviada automáticamente al pulsar la tecla
«ENTER» después de cada lectura.

4.8 PUESTA A CERO (RESET)
Para cargar el programa de fábrica y eliminar cualquier dato memorizado,
se puede realizar una puesta a cero. El procedimiento es el siguiente:
Pare el equipo, pulse la tecla ENTER y manténgala pulsada y ponga en
marcha el equipo. En la pantalla del equipo aparecerá RESET?. Conrme
la acción con la tecla ENTER. SI desea cancelar la acción pulse la tecla
ESC. Esta acción puede ser útil si observa que el funcionamiento no es
el correcto y antes de enviar el equipo al servicio técnico

2. DESCRIPTION
General description of the equipment:
The photometer / colormeter is a small benchtop analyser.
Measuring is based on a light source from a transmitter, a monochromator
composed of interference lters and a silicon photodetector with a limited
spectral response according to technical specications.
The signal captured by the detector is amplied and ltered to eliminate
any interferences, an analogue circuit converts the signal to a logarithmic
scale according to the Beer’s law that determines the light absorbance
of the sample being measured.
Once the signal proportional to the rate of absorption has been
obtained, a digital analogue converter introduces the information into
the microprocessor.
The software can measure ABS (Absorbance), Transmittance and
Concentration values.

2.1 KEYBOARD DESCRIPTION
The keyboard allows the user to input alphanumerical information into
the instrument. The following table describes the various key functions.
3. INSTALLATION
Place the analyser on a at surface near a power source.
Do not expose the device into direct sunlight.
Avoid installing the instrument in excessively damp, warm or dusty areas.
Check that the voltage of the analyser, as shown on the label on the rear
panel, is the same as that of the mains electricity supply.
Connect the power cable to the socket at the back of the analyser. Then,
plug the other end into the mains electricity supply. Ensure that the device
is correctly earthed.
To replace the fuse, unplug the mains cable from the analyser. Pull-out
the fuse holder. Replace with a new fuse of the same rating as indicated
on the specications label.
4. OPERATION
Sample analysis:
• Samples must be placed in a:
Rectangular 10mm cell. OR
Polypropylene/glass Ø12-16mm tube.
• Insert the sample in the cell holder.
• Select the desired wavelength lter.
• Select on the main menu the type of result required.
On starting the analyser, ABSORBANCE appears from the main menu.

4.6 ENTERING A CORRECTION FACTOR
This menu allows the user to enter a correction factor that is applied to
the absorbance reading. The default value is 1.00. The value needs to
be between 0.8 to 1.2.
Entering this factor is specially useful for repetitive samples whereby an
adjustement is required by a standard.

4.7 RS-232 SERIAL OUTPUT
By using the RS232 connection, data can be downloaded to an external
computer or directly to a serial printer. The readings are automatically
sent when the «ENTER» key is pressed after each reading.

After reading, the analyser sends a message, depending on the reading

4.8 PERFORM A RESET
To load the factory program and delete any stored data, you can perform
a reset. The procedure is as follows:
Turn the equipment o, press the ENTER key and hold it and start the
equipment. RESET ? will appear on the screen. Conrm with the ENTER
key. To cancel the action, press the ESC key. This action can be useful
if you notice that the operation is not correct and before sending the
equipment for technical service.
