guide to get the most out of your phone.
Before Using Your Phone
Read “Get Started” and “Important Information Booklet” thoroughly for proper usage.
Accessible services may be limited by subscription contract conditions.
Descriptions in the User Guide
Note that most descriptions in this guide are based on your phone’s setup at the time of purchase. Unless
otherwise noted, instructions begin from the phone’s home screen, which is displayed by touching Home
. Some operation descriptions may be simplified.
Screenshots and Key Labels
Screenshots in the user guide may appear differently on your phone. The status bar and keys displayed
at the bottom of the display are omitted from screenshots where unrequired in explanations. Key labels in
the user guide are simplified for description purposes and differ from your phone’s display.
Other Notations
In the user guide, the phone may be referred to either as “phone,” “device,” or “handset.” microSD™,
microSDHC™ or microSDXC™ card is referred to as an “SD Card” or “memory card.”

3.5 mm Headset Jack
Allows you to plug in either a stereo headset or an optional headset for
convenient, hands-free conversations.
Direct Wave Receiver
The touchscreen vibrates to create sound waves.
Back Key
Lets you return to the previous screen, or close a dialog box, options
menu, the Notifications panel, or onscreen keyboard (for keyboard,
changes to ). Drag or swipe up to open Google/Assistant.
Home Key Returns you to the Home screen. Drag or swipe up to open
Google/Assistant.

Part
Description
Self Camera Lens
Takes pictures and records videos while facing the screen, and allows
you to video conference.
Touchscreen
Displays all the information needed to operate your phone, such as the
call status, the Contacts list, and the date and time. Also provides one-
touch access to all of your features and applications.
Recent Apps Key Displays recently-used applications. Drag or swipe up to open
Google/Assistant.
LED
Displays a phone notification, charging status, or alert.
Misoperation
Prevention/Light Sensor
Detects ambient light level and prevents touchscreen misoperation
during call.
Camera
Lets you take pictures and videos.
Charger/Accessory Jack
Allows you to connect the AC adapter or the USB cable (included).
Mic (Recorder Mic)
Captures ambient sounds while recording videos.
Flash
Helps illuminate subjects in low-light environments when the camera is
focusing and capturing a picture or video.
Battery Cover
Accesses SIM card and SD card.
Speaker
Lets you hear the different ringtones and sounds. The speaker also
lets you hear the caller’s voice in speakerphone mode.
Mic
Talk to other party through this.
CAUTION! Inserting an accessory into the incorrect jack may damage the phone.

Keys
The following illustration outlines your phone’s keys.

Power Key
Lets you turn the phone on or off or turn the screen on or off, or switch
your phone to silent mode, vibration mode, or airplane mode.
Volume Key
Allows you to adjust the ringtone or media volume or adjust the voice
volume during a call.
Direct Wave Receiver
The phone is equipped with a “Direct Wave Receiver” which transmits sound by vibrating the display area.
You can use the phone normally although there is no hole in the receiver.
Holding the Phone to Your Ear
As shown below, hold the receiver so that it covers your ear and blocks out surrounding noise for clearer
sound. Adjust the position of the phone up, down, left or right to suit your hearing and the surrounding
environment.

●Make sure not to cover the mic with your finger etc. when you talk on the phone.
●When an earphone (commercially available) is connected to the phone, sound is from the
earphone instead of by the Direct Wave Receiver.
●Do not put a sticker, sheet, etc. on the display. The other party’s voice may become hard to hear.
●How well sound can be heard differs with each individual.
●How well sound can be heard depends on the surrounding environment.
SIM Card
The SIM card is an IC card containing phone number and other customer information.
Handling SIM Card
Keep the following in mind when handling a SIM card.
●Customer is responsible for any damage caused by inserting SIM card in another-brand IC card
reader, etc. The company is not responsible in such case.
●Always keep the IC chip clean.
●Wipe clean with a dry, soft cloth.
●Avoid applying labels. May damage SIM card.
●See instructions included with SIM card for handling.
●SIM card is the property of the company.
●SIM card is replaceable (at cost) in case of loss/damage.
●Return SIM card to the company when cancelling subscription.
●Returned SIM cards are recycled for environmental purposes.
●Note that SIM card specifications and performance may change without notice.
●It is recommended that you keep a separate copy of information that is stored on SIM card. The
company is not responsible for damages from stored information that is lost.
●Always follow emergency procedures to suspend service if your SIM card or phone (SIM card
inserted) is lost/stolen. For details, contact Customer Service.
●Always power off phone before inserting/removing SIM card.
Insert SIM Card
Follow these instructions to insert a SIM card. Remember to power off your phone before inserting a SIM
card.

If your phone has become warm, insert after it has cooled. May cause burns.
1. Remove the battery cover.
Lift where marked ○(indent) and create a gap between the battery cover and the phone.
Continue by sliding your finger completely around the phone under the battery cover to
remove.
2. Insert SIM card in SIM card slot.
Insert gently being careful of SIM card orientation (notch/(gold) IC chip facing downward).

3. Attach the battery cover.
Press firmly where marked ○so there are no gaps. Be careful not to press excessively and
damage the battery cover.
Phone Memory/SD Card
Your phone supports the use of an optional SD card (not included) to expand its storage capacity. It
supports cards up to 32 GB. Some cards may not operate properly with your phone.
The phone’s memory is also available for storing data such as system data, apps, and captured
pictures/videos.
SD Card Cautions
Content saved in phone memory/SD card:Content stored in the phone’s memory/SD card may be
altered/lost due to accidents, malfunctions, repairs, phone replacement, or other handling. Back up
important information regularly. The company is not responsible for damages from stored information
that is lost/altered.
Reading/Writing Data: Never power off or remove Battery while reading or writing data.
SD cards used on other mobile phones:A message indicating there is app data on the SD card
may appear if the SD card was used on another mobile phone (a device prior to model upgrade, etc.).
First transfer the data on the SD card to your phone with the following steps to use the data.
Drag the status bar down and open the Notifications panel > Follow the instructions in the message.
If there are folders and files with the same names in phone memory as on the SD card, a prompt
appears for whether to overwrite folders/files. Use adequate caution, as overwritten data in phone
memory cannot be restored.
Battery Level:A low battery charge may prevent reading/writing to the SD card.
Phone memory: By default, pictures, videos, and other media files captured on your phone are
saved in phone memory. Applications (third-party) you download may indicate that files are saved to
an SD card, however, they are saved to your phone’s memory.
Handling SD Card:Use/store SD cards away from the reach of infants. May cause choking if
swallowed.

Insert SD Card
Follow these steps to insert an optional SD card (not included). Make sure to power your phone off before
inserting or removing an SD card.
If your phone has become warm, insert after it has cooled. May cause burns.
1. Remove the battery cover.
Lift where marked ○(indent) and create a gap between the battery cover and the phone.
Continue by sliding your finger completely around the phone under the battery cover to
remove.
2. Insert SD card.
Insert SD card gently all the way in without bending and with terminals facing downward.

Press firmly where marked ○so there are no gaps. Be careful not to press excessively and
damage the battery cover.
Unmount SD Card
Always unmounts the SD card before removing it from your phone.
