1.3 Installing SIM Card and Memory Card
Remove the nanoSIM/microSD tray
Remove the nanoSIM/microSD tray from
the card slot.
Install the SIM card
Align the nanoSIM card properly with the
notch in the tray and then insert the tray
back in the slot.
If inserted correctly, the tray should go in
smoothly.
SIM
Install the memory (microSD) card
Place the memory (microSD) card onto the
tray.
microSD SIM
Replace the nanoSIM/microSD tray
Push the nanoSIM/microSD tray into the card slot.

1.4 Charging the Battery
The battery that came with the device is only partially charged.
Charge the battery
1. Connect one end of the USB cable to
the USB port of the device.
2. Connect the other end of the USB cable
to the charger.
3. Plug the charger to a wall outlet to start
charging.
When the battery is charging and the device is turned on, the icon is displayed
on the status bar. When the battery is fully charged, the icon is displayed on the
status bar.
Warning
• Please use indoors and in dry places.
• Overheat protection mechanism is activated, the device will temporarily stop
charging:
When the system temperature reaches the maximum operating temperature,
the device will automatically activate the overheat protection mechanism and
temporarily stops battery charging. When the system temperature drops, the
system will automatically restart the battery charging.
NOTE:
• Battery life varies depending on network, apps, and ambient temperature.
• You can also charge the device by connecting it to your computer via USB
connection. The USB Preferences menu will appear on the screen. For battery
charging, just ignore the menu.
However, if you want to transfer the les,
select File Transfer to copy les from your device
to the computer.

1.5 Turning the Device On or Off
After installing the SIM card and charging the battery, the device is ready to be turned on.
Turn the Device On or Off
Turn on the device
Press and hold the Power key until the device turns on.
Turn off the device
1. Press and hold the Power key until the Power
menu is displayed.
2. In the Power menu, tap Power off.
NOTE: In the Power menu, tap Emergency to make an emergency phone call.
Restart the Device
1. Press and hold the Power key until the Power menu is displayed.
2. In the Power menu, tap Restart.
Switch the Device to Airplane Mode
Airplane mode temporarily disables wireless functions from cellular radio, Wi-Fi, and
Bluetooth.
1. Slide down from the top of the screen to open the
quick settings panel.
2. Drag the panel down to extend the quick settings panel, then slide to left until you
see the Airplane mode option. Tap .
Switch the Device to Sleep Mode
Sleep mode helps to save power and extend battery life time.
While the screen is on, press the Power key. This will turn off the screen.
To wake the device from the sleep mode, pick up your phone or press the Power key.

1.6 Locking and Unlocking the Screen
Lock the screen to prevent it from accidentally being touched. By default, the screen
locks after being idle for 30 seconds. To modify the screen timeout time, refer to “Display
Settings” on page 77.
Lock the screen
To manually lock the screen and turn off the display, press
the Power key.
Unlock the screen
1. While the screen is off, press the Power key.
2. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to unlock the
screen.
NOTE: The lock screen also provides a quick access to
the Camera app and Google Assistant.
• To open the Camera app, tap on the lock
screen and swipe diagonally left.
• To open the Google Assistant, tap on the
lock screen and swipe diagonally right.

1.7 Using the Headset
For hands-free conversation or listening to music, plug a headset to the audio jack on top
of the device.
NOTE:
• When using a headset, your ability to hear outside sounds may be limited. Do not
use a headset if it will endanger you.
• Do not set the headset volume to its maximum as it may damage your hearing.
1.8 Adjusting the Volume
To adjust the volume, use either of the two methods:
• Press the Volume Up/Down key repeatedly to adjust the volume.
• Press the Volume Up/Down key once. Then drag
the volume slider to adjust the volume.
NOTE: In volume quick menu, you can also congure
settings for incoming calls and notications
(Vibe( ) / Mute( ) / Manner OFF( )),
adjust additional volume settings ( ), and
turn captions on and off ( / ).

2.1 Home Screen
From the default Home screen, you can quickly access apps, common features, view
notications of missed calls, received messages, and more.
Status bar:
View notication icons,
battery status, system
status, and clock.
Tap an icon to access
the app.
Perform Google search
TIP:
• On the Home screen, swipe up to access more apps. Refer to “Open Apps” on
page 17.
• On the Home screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to view the recent
apps. Refer to “View Running Apps and Manage Resources” on page 17.
• Long-tap on a blank space on the Home screen to congure Home screen
settings, add widgets, and select a wallpaper. Refer to “Home Screen
Management” on page 18.

Status Bar
Status bar displays the notication icons, battery details and other system status details.
For example:
Current time
New text message
Missed call
Wireless network
Mobile network
Battery status
Remaining

Battery is completely discharged.
Network signal strength. Fewer
bars indicate lower signal

Wi-Fi is connected. Vibrate mode is activated.
Wi-Fi is not connected. File is downloading.
Hotspot connection is active. Weather forecast.
Bluetooth connection is active. Latest news.
Airplane mode is activated. Weather forecast.
Incoming call. Missed call notication.
* The signal strength icon appears with [ ] superimposed like [ ]/[ ] while you
connect to an access point which is not connected to the Internet.

Notications Panel
The notications panel is a place to quickly access alerts, notications, and shortcuts.
It is located at the top of your device’s screen.
Open the notications panel
From any screen, swipe down from the top of the screen to open the notications panel.
Do any of the following:
• To open a notication, tap on the notication
message.
• To remove a notication, tap on the notication
message and swipe to the left or to the right.
• To view and manage apps that can send
notications, tap Manage.
• To remove all the notications, tap Clear all.
• To view and manage notications that show up
with no audible or visual alert, tap Silent. In silent
notications panel, view recently sent notications,
congure lock screen notications, and more.
• To enable or disable device features from quick settings panel, tap on the desired
setting shortcut. If the shortcut is not visible, extend the quick settings panel by
dragging it down.
Then swipe the screen to the left or to the right to nd the shortcut.
- To access all system settings, tap .
- To reorganize the quick settings panel, tap .
NOTE: To reset shortcuts default locations, tap > Reset.
Close the notications panel
Tap and swipe up the notications panel.

Open Apps
Use either of the below methods to open apps:
• Tap the app shortcut directly on the Home screen.
• If the app shortcut is not on the Home screen, swipe
up to access the Apps screen. Then tap on the app
you want to open.
NOTE: On Apps screen, you can also search for apps.
View Running Apps and Manage Resources
To open the recent apps overview and close unnecessary
apps, swipe up from the bottom of the screen on the Home
screen. Do any of the following:
• Tap on the app to quickly access it.
• To close the app, tap the app and swipe up.
• To take a screenshot of the current notication app,
tap Screenshot.
• To use the split the viewing screen, tap Split screen.

Home Screen Management
Home screen management menu enables you to manage the Home screen, add
widgets, and set a wallpaper.
To open the Home screen management menu,
long-tap on a blank space on the Home screen.
Home settings
Manage the usage of notication dots, enable or
disable adding shortcuts of newly installed apps on the
Home screen, enable or disable screen auto rotation,
and more.
Widgets
Add small views of apps on the Home screen for a
quick access.
Add a widget
1. Long-tap on the widget you want to add to the
Home screen.
a) Select the Home screen where you want to
add the widget.
b) Select the location on the Home screen where
you want to add the widget.
2. Release the widget.
Modify a widget
Long-tap on the widget and then adjust the height
and width of the widget or drag it to another Home
page.
Remove a widget
Long-tap on the widget and then drag it to X Remove.

Set Wallpaper
Select your preferred wallpaper from Live
Wallpapers, Photos, or Preset Wallpaper folder.
Folders
Group similar apps into folders to organize the Home screen.
Add a folder
Long-tap on the app you want to move into a folder
and drag it over another app you want to group it
with.
NOTE: To specify the folder name, tap on the folder and enter the folder name.
Modify a folder
1. Tap on the folder you wish to modify.
2. Do any of the following:
• To relocate the folder, long-tap on the folder
and drag it to your preferred Home page.
• To remove an app from the folder, long-tap on
the app and then drag it out from the folder.
• To uninstall the app, long-tap on the app and
drag it to Remove.
• To rename the folder, tap on the current folder
name and enter a new name.
Remove a folder
Long-tap on the folder and then drag it to Remove.
The folder together with the app shortcuts are
deleted.

Launch the Google Assistant Screen
To view latest weather report, read personalized
news, perform search, and more, swipe right from
the left edge of the Home screen. Then tap the
prole icon ( ) to log in to your Google account.
The news feed and weather report are updated
automatically or you can update them manually by
swiping down from your device screen.
NOTE: Access more Google apps on the Home
screen or access Google Assistant by pressing
the Google Assistant key on the side of your
device.
Changing the Device Settings
A complete list of device settings, such as network
connections, accounts, apps, privacy, and more are
available in Settings menu.
The Settings menu can be accessed:
• By tapping on the Home screen or Apps screen.
• By tapping on the quick settings panel.
