BIOSSettings
TheSD30 BIOSROMhasabuilt-inSetup programthatallowsuserstomodifybasic
systemconfiguration.Thisinformation isstoredinbattery-backedRAMsothatit re-
tainsSetup information evenif thesystempoweristurnedoff.
ThesystemBIOSmanagesand executesavarietyofhardwarerelatedfunctions
including:
Systemdateand time
Hardwareexecution sequence
Powermanagementfunctions
Allocation ofsystemresources
EntertheBIOS
To entertheBIOS(BasicInput/OutputSystem)utility,followthesesteps:
Step1.Poweron thecomputer.Thesystemwill perform itsPOST(Power-On
Self Test) routinechecks.
Step2.Press the<Del>key immediately,oratthefollowingmessage:
Press DEL toenterSETUP,orsimultaneouslypress <Ctrl>,<Alt>,
<Esc>keys
Note1. If you miss trainsofwordsmentionedinstep2 (themessage disap-
pearsbeforeyou canrespond)and you stillwishtoenterBIOSSetup,
restartthesystemand tryagainbyturningthecomputerOFF and
ONagainorbypressingthe<RESET>switchlocatedatthe
computer’sfront-panel. You mayalsorebootbysimultaneously
pressingthe<Ctrl>,<Alt>,<Del>keyssimultaneously.
Note2. If you do notpress thekeysintimeand systemdoesnotboot, the
screenwill promptanerrormessage,and you will begiventhe
followingoptions:
"Press F1toContinue,DEL toEnterSetup”
Step3.Whenyou entertheBIOSprogram,theCMOSSetup Utilitywill displaythe
MainMenu,asshowninthenextsection.

TheMainMenu
Onceyou entertheAwardBIOS(tm)CMOSSetup Utility,theMainMenu
will appearon thescreen.TheMainMenu allowsyou toselectfromsev-
eralsetup functionsand twoexit choices.Usethearrowkeystoselect
amongtheitemsand press <Enter>toacceptand enterthesub-menu.
Notethatabriefdescription ofeachhighlightedselection appearsatthe
bottomofthescreen.
