zusätzlichzuden Angaben in der zugrunde liegenden Betriebsanleitung die folgenden
Hinweise.
2.1 Verwendungsbereichedes Gerätes
Das Gerät ist eine BWS Typ 4 gemäß IEC 61496-1und IEC 61 496-2und darf deshalb in
Steuerungen derKategorie 4 gemäßEN ISO 13849-1eingesetztwerden. Das Gerät erfüllt
die ATEX-Anforderungen nach EN 60079-0,EN 60079-15, EN 60079-28für Kategorie 3G
und nach EN 61241-0,EN 60079-31 für Kategorie 3D.
2.2 AllgemeineSicherheitshinweiseund
Schutzmaßnahmen
Sicherheitshinweise
Beachten Sie die nachfolgenden Punkte, um die bestimmungsgemäße, sichere
Verwendungdes Sicherheits-Lichtvorhangs C4000 – ATEX II 3G/3D zu gewährleisten.
•FürEinbau und Verwendung elektrischer Geräte in explosionsgefährdeten Bereichen
sowie fürdie Inbetriebnahmeundwiederkehrende technischeÜberprüfungen gelten
besondere nationale/internationale Rechtsvorschriften,insbesondere die ATEX-
Richtlinie.
Hersteller und Bediener der Maschine, an welcherder Sicherheits-Lichtvorhang
verwendet wird, müssen alle geltenden Sicherheitsvorschriften/-regeln ineigener
Verantwortung mit der für sie zuständigen Behörde abstimmen und einhalten.
•DiesesAddendum istdem BedienerderMaschine,anderderSicherheits-Lichtvorhang
C4000 – ATEX II 3G/3D verwendet wird, zusammen mit der zugrunde liegenden
Betriebsanleitung zur Verfügungzu stellen. Der Maschinenbediener ist durch
Sachkundige einzuweisen und zumLesen und Einhalten der Betriebsanleitung
anzuhalten.
Schützen Sie die Frontscheibe desSicherheits-Lichtvorhangs vor UV-Strahlung!
UV-Strahlung kann die Lebensdauer und Beständigkeit der Gerätefrontscheibe reduzieren.
Beim Einsatz im explosionsgeschützten Bereich darf die Frontscheibe keinerUV-Strahlung
(z. B. Sonnenlicht) ausgesetzt werden.
Wählen Sie die Montageposition so,dass die Frontscheibe keiner UV-Strahlung
ausgesetzt ist.
Beachten Sie die maximale mechanische Beanspruchung des Sicherheits-
Lichtvorhangs!
Der Sicherheits-Lichtvorhang C4000 – ATEX II 3G/3D besteht die Schlagfestigkeitsprüfung
nach Normanforderung. Er darf nur mechanischen Belastungen bis maximal 4 Joule für
Gerätebauteile aus Kunststoff bzw. bis maximal 2 Joule bei lichtdurchlässigen Teilen
(Frontscheibe) ausgesetzt werden.


Beachten Sie bei der Elektroinstallation des Sicherheits-Lichtvorhangs C4000 – ATEX II
3G/3Dzusätzlich zu den Angaben in der zugrunde liegenden Betriebsanleitungdie
folgenden Hinweise.
Die Bemessungsspannung darf nicht überschritten werden!
Beim Einsatz im explosionsgeschützten Bereich gelten besondere Anforderungen an die
Spannungsversorgung:
Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Bemessungsspannung auch bei vorübergehenden Störungen
nicht um mehr als 40 % ansteigen kann. Bei einer maximal zulässigen Versorgungsspan-
nung von 28,8 V darf diese also 40,3 V nicht überschreiten.
Trennen Sie die elektrischen Anschlüssedes Gerätes nur in spannungsfreiem Z ustand!
Beim Trennen Strom führenderTeile können Funken entstehen.Dadurchbestehtim explo-
sionsgefährdeten Bereich Lebensgefahr.
Schalten Sie immer erst die Spannungsversorgung aus,bevorSie eine Anschlussleitung
vom Gerät trennen.
Stellen Sie sicher, dass alle elektrischen Anschlüsse des Gerätes gesteckt oder
geschützt sind!
Die IP-Schutzart derAnschlüsse und somit des Gerätes ist nur garantiert,wenn die An-
schlüsse geschützt sind. Andernfalls können Fremdkörper in den Anschluss eindringen.
Dies könnte beim nächsten Einschalten eine Explosion hervorrufen.
Stellen Sie sicher, dass alle elektrischen Anschlüsse stets gesteckt und verschraubt
sind.
Oder:
Drehen Sie die am Gerät hängende Schutzkappefest auf den elektrischenAnschluss,
wenn dieser nicht verbunden ist.
Treffen Sie in jedem Fall technische Vorkehrungen, um auch die IP-Schutzart der An-
schlussleitungen aufrechtzuerhalten.


Beachten Sie bei derPflege desSicherheits-Lichtvorhangs C4000 – ATEX II 3G/3D zusätz-
lich zu den Angaben in der zugrunde liegenden Betriebsanleitung die folgenden Hinweise.
Gefahr der statischen Aufladung!
Gerätefrontscheibe undGehäuse nur mit feuchtem Tuch reinigen!
Die Frontscheibeund die Gehäusebeschichtung des Sicherheits-Lichtvorhangs C4000 –
ATEX II 3G/3D sind aus Kunststoff und können sich elektrostatischaufladen. Beim Einsatz
des Gerätes im explosionsgefährdeten Bereich müssen Sie dies verhindern.
Verwenden Sie zur Reinigung ausschließlich feuchte Tücher.
SICK bietet zu diesem Zweckden antistatischen Kunststoffreiniger (SICK-Art.-Nr.
5600006) unddas SICK-Optiktuch (Art.-Nr. 4003353) an.

When usingthe C4000 – ATEX II 3G/3D safety light curtain, observe the following notes in
addition to the information in the underlyingoperating instructions.
2.1 Applications of the device
The device is a type 4 ESPE as defined by IEC 61496-1and IEC 61 496-2and is therefore
allowed foruse with category 4 controls as per EN ISO 13849-1.The device meetsthe
ATEX-requirements in compliance with EN 60079-0,EN 60079-15, EN 60079-28 for
category3Gand in compliance with EN 61241-0,EN 60079-31 for category 3D.
2.2 General safety notesand protective measures
Safety notes
Please observe the followingprocedures inorderto ensure the correctandsafe use of the
C4000 – ATEX II 3G/3D safety light curtain.
•For the installation and usage of electrical devices in explosive areas, as well as for
commissioning and periodic technical inspections, special national/international rules
and regulations apply, in particular the ATEX directive.
Manufacturers and operators of the machine with which the safety light curtain is used
are responsible for obtaining and observing all applicable safety regulations and rules.
•This addendum mustbe made availableto the operator of the machinewhere the
C4000 – ATEX II 3G/3D safety light curtain is used, together with the original operating
instructions.The machine operatoristo be instructedin the use ofthe device byspecia-
list personnel and must be instructed to read and observethe operating instructions.
Protect the front screenonthe safety light curtainagainst UVradiation!
UVradiationcan reduce the service life anddurabilityof the device frontscreen.On usage
in an explosion-protected area, the front screen must not be subjected to anyUV radiation
(e.g. sunlight).
Choose the mounting position such that the front screen is not subjected to anyUV
radiation.
Pay attention to the maximum mechanical load on the safety light curtain!
The C4000 – ATEX II 3G/3D safety light curtain withstands the impact strength test in
accordance with the requirements in the standards.It is onlyallowed to be subject to
mechanical loads up to a maximum of 4 Joulesfordevicecomponents made of plastic and
up to a maximum of 2 Joules for transparent parts (front screen).


3Electrical installation
During the electrical installationof the C4000 – ATEX II 3G/3D safety light curtain, observe
the following notes in addition to the information in the underlying operating instructions.
The rated voltage must not be exceeded!
When used in an explosion-protected area, special requirements applyto the power
supply:
Ensure that the rated voltage cannot be exceeded bymore than 40 %,even in the case
of temporary faults. At a maximumpermitted supplyvoltage of 28.8V, 40.3 V must not
be exceeded.
Only disconnect the electricalconnectionsof the device whenpower isswitched off!
On the disconnection of parts carrying electrical power, sparks maybe produced. This will
result in a serious risk of injuryin an explosivearea.
Always first switch off the power supplybefore you disconnect a connection cable from
the device.
Ensure that all electrical connections are made to the device or the connections are
protected!
The IP enclosure ratingfor the connections and thus the device is onlyguaranteed when
the connections are protected. Otherwiseforeign objects mayenterthe connection
chamber.This could cause an explosionthe next time the deviceis switched on.
Ensure that all electrical connections are always made and screwed tight.
Or:
Screw the protective cap attached to the device ontothe electrical connection and
tighten if the connection is not used.
In any case take appropriatetechnical precautions to maintain the IP enclosure rating of
the connection cables.


4Care and maintenance
During care and maintenance of the C4000 – ATEX II 3G/3D safety light curtain, observe
the following notes in addition to the information in the underlyingoperating instructions.
Risk of static charging!
Only clean device front screen and housing with damp cloth!
The front screen and the housing coatingon the C4000– ATEX II 3G/3D safety light cur-
tain are made of plastic and can become electrostatically charged. On usingthe device in
such an explosive area, you must prevent this static build up.
Only use damp cloths for cleaning.
For this purpose, SICK offers the antistatic plastic cleaner (SICK part number 5600006)
and the SICK optical cloth (part number 4003353).

Při používání bezpečnostní světelné závory C4000 – ATEX II 3G/3D dodržujte kromě
pokynů uvedených v základním provozním návodu též následující pokyny.
2.1 Oblasti použití zařízení
Zařízení je ESPE typu 4 podle IEC 61496-1a IEC 61496-2 a smí se proto použ ívat v
řídících systé mech k ategorie 4 podle EN ISO 1 38 49-1. Zaříz ení splňuje požadavky ATEX
podle EN 600790, EN 60079-15 a EN 60079-28 pro k ategorii 3G a podle EN 6 12 41-0,
EN 60079-31 pro kategorii 3D.
2.2 Všeobecné pokyny k bezpečnosti a ochranná opatření
Pokyny k bezpečnost i!
Dodržujte následující body, abyste zajistili správné a bezpečné používání bezpečnostního
světelného závěsu C4000 – ATEX II 3G/3Dv souladu s jeho určením.
•Pro m ontáž a použ ití elektrických z ařízení v pro středí, k terá jso u ohro žena nebez pečím
výbuchu, a pro uvedení do pro vozu a opakované technické k ontroly platí z vláštní národní
i mezinárodní právní předpisy, zejména směrnice ATEX.
Výrobce a uživatelé stroje, u kterého se bezpečnostní svĕtelný závĕs bude používat, musí
na vlastní odpovĕdnost z ísk at od odpovídajících úřadů všechny platné bez pečno stní
předpisy a norm y, a zajistit jejich sladĕní a dodrž ování.
•Tento dodatek musí být dán k dispozici o bsluze k aždého stroje, na k terém je použit
bezpečnostní světelný závěs C4000 – ATEX II 3G/3D, a to společně se z ákladním
provozním návodem. Obsluhu stroje musí řádně zaškolit odborně způsobilá osoba a
musí být zajištěno, aby si obsluha přečetla provozní návod a dodržovala jej.
Čelní kryt bezpečnostního svĕtelného závĕsu chraňte před UV zářením!
UV z áření můž e z k rátit životno st a o do lnost čelního k rytu z aříz ení. Při použ ití v oblasti
chránĕné před výbuchem nesmí být čelní k ryt v ystaven ž ádnému UV z áření (např.
slunečnímu svĕtlu).
Zvolte tako vou mo ntážní polohu, aby čelní k ryt nebyl vystaven ž ádnému UV z áření.
Respektujte hodnoty maximálního dovoleného mechanického namáhání
bezpečnostního světelného závěsu!
Bezpečnostní světelný závěs C4000 – ATEX II 3G/3D uspěl ve zkoušce rázové pevnosti
podle pož adavk ů normy. Sm í být vystaven pouze m echanickým namáháním s e nergií
nejvýše do 4 Jo ulů u částí z aříz ení vyro be ných z plastů, resp. nejvýše do 2 Jo ulů u dílů
propouštějících světlo (čelní kryt).


Při provádění elektroinstalačních prací bezpečnostní světelné závory C4000 – ATEX II
3G/3Ddodržujte kromě pokynů uvedených v základním provozním návodu též následující
pokyny.
Jmenovité napĕt í nesm í být př ekročeno!
Při použití v oblasti chránĕné před výbuchem platí z vláštní požadavky na napájení:
Zajistĕte, aby jmenovité napĕtí nemohlo ani při pře chodných poruchách stoupnout o víc
než 40 %. Při maximálnĕ přípustném napájecím napĕtí 28,8 V nesmí přek ročit 4 0,3 V.
Elektr ic ké přívody zař ízení odpojujte pouze ve stavu bez napět í!
Při odpojování dílů pod napĕtím m ohou vz niknout jiskry. Vz nik jisk er je v oblasti s
nebezpečím výbuchu životu nebezpečné.
Před jakýmkoli odpojováním připojovacího kabelu od zařízení vždy nejprve vypnĕte
napájení.
Zajistěte, aby ve všech elektrických konektorech z ař ízení byly řádně z apojené zástrčky,
nebo aby byly konektory chráněné!
Ochrana IP přípo jek a tím i z ařízení je zajištĕna pouz e tehdy, k dyž jsou k onek tory chránĕny.
V opačném případĕ se mohou do konektoru dostat cizí tĕlesa. Ta by m ohla při
následujícím zapojení způsobit výbuch.
Zajistěte, aby všechny elektrické konektory byly trvale zapojené a zašroubované.
Nebo:
Kdyk oliv je přívod odpojený, nasaďte na elek trický k onektor o chrannou k rytku
přivěšenou k z aříz ení a pevně ji utáhněte.
Vždy učiňte tak ová technická opatření, aby bylo m ož né dodrž et také druh o chrany IP
přípojného vedení.


4Údržba
Při provádění údržby bezpečnostní světelné z ávory C4000 – ATEX II 3G/3D dodržujte
kromě pokynů uvedených v základním provozním návodu též následující pokyny.

Čelní kr yt a pouzdr o z aříz ení ot ír ejte pouze vlhkým hadříkem!
Č elní kryt a povrch pouz dra bez pe čnostní světelné závory C4000 – ATEX II 3G/3D jsou z
plastu a m ůž e na nich vz nik at elek trostatický náboj. Při použ ití z ařízení ve výbušném
prostředí je nutno tomu zabránit.
K čištění používejte výhradně vlhké hadříky.
