WARNING: Only use with suitable bariatric LOOP lift:
This sling is designed to transfer the patient
in a slightly reclined position to alleviate the
danger of suocation/breathing diculties.
Please consult your healthcare professional
before transfer if in any doubt.
WARNING
Inner Leg Straps
Sling Application:
Put the bed into a semi-proled position (if possible) so
that the patient is in a slightly reclined position to aid
sling insertion.
Introduce 2 at slide sheets between patient and bed
to assist with ease of application, if required.
Take the inner leg sections and glide under
each thigh in turn ensuring the sling is not twisted.
With the sling label facing outwards, gradually introduce
the sling between the slide sheets.
Introduce via head or foot depending on the patient’s
body shape to which would provide greatest ease of
application.
Once you have positioned the leg sections around
each thigh, remove the top slide sheet from under the
patient.
Leave lower slide sheet in place to assist with re-
positioning if slide sheets are being used.

Bring lift into position and attach both shoulder straps
securely on to the spreader bar of the lift.
If using a neck roll; secure by feeding the strap through
the shoulder loop of the sling then loop back through
the plastic slider. Adjust strap to suit, by passing through
the slider.
Sling Application Continued:
6
Attach inner leg strap to spreader bar of the lift
(crossing if preferred) then attach outer leg straps.
Check the inner leg strap and adjust the slider to ensure
equal tension with the outer leg loop.
We would advise a controlled transfer a few inches o
the bed to check sling position and patient comfort
before continuing with full transfer.
7
In a controlled way, raise the lift until the sling takes the
full weight of the patient. Before moving, reassess the
patient’s position and check for comfort.
Lower back to the bed to make any adjustments before
continuing with the transfer.
8
Bariatric Lift disclaimer - This sling has been
designed to be used with an appropriate bariatric lift
and should NEVER be used with a lift without checking
the lift safe working load.

General Instructions: Warning
Do not attempt to transfer the patient until
all appropriate sling attachments are secured to
the lift spreader bar and you are satised that the
sling is the correct style, size and t for the patient.
Correct sizing of a sling is important as a sling that is
too large could cause the patient to slip through the
aperture.
While every attempt is made to instruct a safe move
you must conform to the current moving and handling
procedures/regulations. If in any doubt, consult your
Moving and Handling Advisor.
Service Label & Sling Checks:
All products should be checked each time they are
used for any signs of deterioration.
The service label is a visual guide to the product’s
check. Please conduct a thorough sling check in line
with current safety requirements in your country.
If in doubt consult your distributor for current sling
checking protocols.
A risk assessment must be carried out to ensure
that the correct size and style of sling has been
met before use.
Pre-use sling check list:
• braiding/straps for deterioration and fraying
• material for holes/snagging
• compatibility with the lift
• safe working load of both the lift and sling/
product (if applicable)
• label is legible
Remove from use immediately if there are any signs
of deterioration to the sling or straps or the label
is illegible.
