Proper use
The USB charger with Bluetooth®headset is an
information technology device for use in vehicles
with an on-board power supply of 12/24V.

The USB charger is intended for charging and
operating mobile phones (and other 5V devices
with a USB socket). The USB charger also functions
as a charger for the Bluetooth®headset.
The Bluetooth®headset is designed to create
a hands-free connection with a mobile phone via
a Bluetooth®connection, in order to allow the
user to make telephone calls while travelling by car
without having to hold the mobile phone in his or
her hand.
The device is suitable only for vehicles in which the
negative terminal of the battery is connected to the
bodywork.
The device is intended for private use only and is
not suitable for commercial purposes. The device
is not intended for any other purpose nor for use
beyond the scope described. The manufacturer
accepts no responsibility for damage caused by
failure to observe these instructions, improper use
or repairs, unauthorised modifications or the use of
unapproved replacement parts. The risk is borne
solely by the user.

for handling the device. This appliance complies
with the statutory safety regulations. Improper
use may result in personal injury and property
damage.
Basic safety instructions
To ensure safe operation of the device, follow the
safety guidelines set out below:
■ Check the appliance for visible external damage
before use. Do not operate a device that has
been damaged or dropped.
■ This device may be used by children aged
8 years and above and by persons with limited
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack
of experience and knowledge, provided that
they are under supervision or have been told
how to use the device safely and are aware of
the potential risks.

■ When using the device (incl. any connected
devices), ensure that it does not interfere with
the steering, braking or the operation of other
vehicle systems (such as airbags) and does not
restrict your field of view when driving.
■ Comply with all local laws. Only operate the
device on those occasions in which the traffic
situation permits it and in which you will not
endanger, injure, obstruct or cause annoyance
to other road users. Therefore, you should only
operate the device in a stationary vehicle.
■ Do not allow yourself to be distracted from the
traffic situation by operating the device or reading
the display! Before starting your journey, famil-
iarise yourself with how to use the device and
practice how to use it safely!
■ Do not allow any liquids or moisture to get into
the appliance.
■ The device must always be supervised during
use.

■ WARNING! Unplug the device from the
cigarette lighter (vehicle socket) immediately
if you notice unusual noises, a burnt smell or
smoke. Have the device checked by a qualified
specialist before using it again.
■ Never open the device housing. There are no
parts inside the device which require user main-
tenance. Do not make any unauthorised modi-
fications or alterations to the device. All repairs
must be carried out by authorised specialist com-
panies or by the Customer Service department.
Improper repairs may put the user at risk. and
will also invalidate any warranty claim.
■ Defective components must always be replaced
with original replacement parts. Compliance with
the safety requirements can only be guaranteed
by using these replacement parts.

Notes on the radio interface
■ Keep the Bluetooth®headset at least 20 cm
away from any pacemaker or implanted
defibrillator, as the proper functioning of the
pacemaker or the implanted defibrillator could
be affected by radio waves.
■ The transmitted radio waves can cause noise
interference in hearing aids.
■ Do not use the Bluetooth®headset with the
radio components switched on in the presence
of flammable gases or in a potentially explosive
atmosphere (e.g. in a paint shop), as the
transmitted radio waves can cause an explosion
or ignite a fire.
■ The range of the radio waves is dependent on
the environment and the ambient conditions.
■ Data transmissions via a wireless connection can
be intercepted by unauthorised third parties.

Charging the Bluetooth®headset
CAUTION
► Use only the supplied USB charger 1to
charge the Bluetooth®headset 8!
► To preserve your vehicle's battery, charge the
battery only when the motor is running.
Before using the Bluetooth®headset 8, the
integrated battery must be completely charged.
