1 About this guide
This installation guide applies to the MyReserve
Backup Power. This system combines optimally
coordinated devices for a reliable backup power
supply from a PV system and a MyReserve stora-
ge system. Read this installation manual careful-
ly, to ensure a awless function of the MyReser-
ve Backup Power.
Installation and maintenance must be conduc-
ted by a qualied and SOLARWATT certied
electrician.
The installation instructions should be kept
near the MyReserve and must be accessible for
all persons involved in work on the system at
any time.
The installation of the MyReserve Backup Po-
wer is only permittet under consideration of
installation instructions of all components
included (see chapter Further applicable do-
cuments).

4 MyReserve Backup Power brief description
The MyReserve Backup Power is the combina-
tion of optimally coordinated devices for a re-
liable backup power supply from a PV system
and the MyReserve energy storage system. It
ensures automatic further supply of all phases
in case of power failure. To do this, the conven-
tional DC generator-coupled connection of My-
Reserve is going to be mantained. The battery
input of the Fronius Symo Hybrid inverter is
NOT used.
X
The operation of the MyReserve Backup Power
can be split for areas that depend on backup
power and areas without backup power protec-
tion (e.g. large consumers, which would exceed
the limitations of the MyReserve Backup Power).
The included SwitchBox is installed between
house distribution and PV system. It contains
all components for automatic grid separation
(including AC sensor) while simultaneously en-
suring the backup function.
MyReserve Backup Power process:
• Power supply from the grid fails
• MyReserve Backup Power automatically
detects
the power failure
• Disconnects household from the grid
• Enables backup power mode of the
inverter and the battery storage system
• MyReserve remains active without
• interruption and switches to "supply from
battery"
• Fronius Symo Hybrid restarts, builds a
• neutral conductor and starts self-test
• Power is supplied from battery storage
and PV system
For correct performance dimensioning, a
detailed planning of the system is required.

5 Safety
5.1 Intended use
The MyReserve Backup Power must be used
exclusively in combination with a MyReserve
storage system and a Fronius Symo Hybrid. Be
sure to observe all technical data in the data
sheet. Every di erent kind or improper use of
the MyReserve BackUp Power and its individual
parts can cause undesirable operating behavior,
defects on the device and / or life-threatening
situations. As a result, there will be no claim for
warranty services.
5.2 Prohibited use
• Do not use the SwitchBox with an island system
• Do not use more than one SwitchBox per in-
stallation
• Do not connect more than one Fronius Symo
Hybrid to the SwitchBox
• Do not use the SwitchBox in combination
with a Fronius battery or other battery stora-
ge systems that are not from SOLARWATT
• Do not use the SwitchBox in combination
with a MyReserve 500 or MyReserve 800
5.3 Safety instructions
Danger to life due to electric shock!
The live components are subject to life-threatening voltages. The SwitchBox must be
only connected to the house distribution system when it‘s de-energised. Here the 5
safety rules must be observed.
Damage or destruction of the SwitchBox due to improper use!
By applying mains voltage to the CAN bus terminals or an operation outside of the
speci ed technical data (see Chapter 13) the SwitchBox may be damaged or destro-
yed.

Always use a network cable (at least Cat.5e) for CAN communication and communication to
the inverter. Isolate unused wires separately to prevent short circuits.
Please nd wiring diagrams for all dierent SwitchBox types in the Installation In-
structions MyReserve SwitchBox by enwitec (see also included documents). This is
for your information only and does not involve any steps of the in installation of the
MyReserve Backup Power.
8 Commissioning
• Enable the power supply by switching on the main fuse and all other fuses in the house dis-
tribution and switch on the residual current switch in the switchbox.
• Commission the devices in the following sequence
1. Switch o the DC circuit breaker on the inverter
2. Switch on the AC supply on the inverter
3. Switch on MyReserve Command‘s DC circuit breaker
4. Wait until the inverter has reached his operating point
5. Switch on the AC power supply for MyReserve Command (F1 in SwitchBox )
6. Plug in the UPS and switch it on
7. Plug MyReserve Command into the UPS in one of the provided sockets
The power socket of the UPS marked red in the gure is not supplied
during a power failure.
Therefore, use one of the other socket slots for connection with the
MyReserve Command.

14 FaQ
Can the MyReserve Backup Power also be used with clusters?
Yes, the MyReserve Backup Power can be used with a cluster installation under the following res-
trictions.: only ONE Fronius Symo Hybrid inverter can run on emergency power. All other inverters
go out of operation in the event of a power failure.
What do I need to consider when retrofi tting the MyReserve Backup Power?
Retro tting the MyReserve Backup Power is easily feasible. An installed AC sensor can be removed
and replaced by the AC sensor of the SwitchBox.
For an installed MyReserve Command, the power supply must be established via the SwitchBox.
If a Fronius Symo Hybrid is installed, make sure its separate connection cable is plugged into the
SwitchBox.
15 Disposal
The switchbox and all its components must be disposed in accordance with local
regulations for the disposal of electronic scrap.
