Notes on Use
• When carrying a camera with the lens attached, always firmly
hold both the camera and the lens.
• Some tripoli models may interfere with this
le ns dependin g on
the c<~mera or tripod used.
Precautions on using a flash
• When using a flash, shoot at least lm (3 .3 feet) away from your
subject. With certain combinations
oflens and flash, the lens
may partia
ll y block the light of the flash, resulting in a shadow
at the bottom
of the picture.
Vignetting
• When using the lens, the corners of the screen become darker
than the center. To re-d u ce this phenomena (called vig netting),
close the aperture by I to 2 stops.
Shake compensation function
• For details on setting the shake compensation function, refer
tn the instruction manual supplied wi th the camera.

G) Attaching and Detaching the Lens
To attach the lens
(See illustration

Remove the rear and front lens caps and the
camera body cap.
• You can attach/detach the front lens cap in two wars, (1}
and (2). Whom you attach/detach th~:: lens cap with the
lens hood attached. use method (2).
2 Align the white index on the lens barrel with
the white index on the camera (mounting
index), then insert
the lens into the camera
mount and rotate
it clockwise until it locks.
• Do not press the lens release button on the camera when
mounting the lens.
• Do not
mount the l~:ns at an angle.
To remove the lens
(See illustration liJ-[2].)
While holding down the lens release button on
the camera, rotate the lens counterclockwise
until
it stops, then detach the lens.
liJ Attaching the Lens Hood
It is recomme n ded that you use a lens hood to reduce flare
and ensure maximum im age quality.
Align the red line on the lens hood with the red
line on the lens (lens hood index), then insert
the lens hood into
the lens mount and rotate it
clockwise until it clicks into place and the red
dot on the lens hood is aligned with the red line
on the lens.
• Wl1en using a built- in camera !lash or a tb sh supplied with the
camera, remove the lens hood to avoid blocki
ng the fl ash light.
•
Wl1en stor in g, fit the lens h ood onto the lens backwards.
mzooming
Zooming with the zoom lever
Slide the len·r slightly to zoom slow ly and sl ide it fu ll y to
zoom quickly.
Zooming with the zooming ring
Rotate t he zoo ming ring to the desired focal l engt h (zoom
posilion ).
• \Ve recommend us ing the :mom lever for muting operation
noise
of the zooming ring while recording movies.
• Move the zoom lever with your finger lightly on th
<: lever, to
prevent wrong operation.
IiiFocusing
There arc three ways to focus.
• Auto focus
The camera focuses automatically.
• OMF (Direct manual focus)
Aflcr the camera focuses in auto focus, you can make a fine
adjustment ma nually.
• Manual focus
You focus manually.
For details on mode settings, refer to the instruction manual
supp lied with the camera.

Pour poser l'objectif

1 oeposez les capuchons d'objectifavant et
arri@re et le capuchon de l'appareil photo.
• Vous pouvez poser et JCposcr Jes c;tpuchons d'objectif
avant de deux
fa<;ons, (I) et (2). Si I' OUs pusez/JCpnsez le
capuch on d'objectif avec le parasoleil, utilisez Ia mCthodc
{2).
2 Afignez fe repere blanc du barillet d'objectif
sur le
rep@re blanc de l'appareil photo
(repere
de montage), puis posez l'objectif
sur Ia monture
de l'appareif photo et
tournez-le dans le sens horaire de sorte qu'il
s'endiquette.
• N'appuyez pas sur le bouton de liberation de l'objectlfsur
l'appareil photo lorsque vous posez l'objectif.
• Ne posez pas l'objectif de biais.
Pour deposer l'objectif
(Voir !'illustration li)- [2] .)
Tout en appuyant sur le bouton de liberation de
l'objectif sur l'appareil photo, tournez l'objectif
dans le
sens antihorairejusqu'it I'arret, puis
deposez l'objectif.
liJ Fixation du parasoleil
II est conseillC J'utiliser un parasoleil pour rCduire Ia lumii're
parasite et ob t cn ir Ia meilleure image possible.
Alignez fa ligne rouge du parasoleil sur Ia ligne
rouge
de l'objectif(repere de parasoleil), puis
inserez leparasoleilsur Ia monture d'objectif
et
tournez-le dans le sens horairejusqu' it ce qu'il
s'encl i quette et le point rouge du parasoleil
s'aligne sur Ia lignerouge
de l'objectif.
• Lorsque vous utilisez le flash intCgrC d'un appareil photo ou le
flash fourni avec un appareil photo, retirez le parasoleil pour
c!oviterdebloquerlalumii'reduflash.
• Pour ranger
le parasoleil. insCrez-le il l'arrihe de l'ob jecti f.

Notes on use
• Do not l eave the lens exposed to the sun or a bright light
source. Internal malfunction ofthe camera body and lens,
or a
fire may result due to the effect oflight fo cusing. If
circumstances necessi tate leaving t he lens in sunlight, be sure
to attach the lens caps

Be careful not to subject the lens/tdeconverter to mechanical
shock
while attaching it.

ways place the lens caps on the lens/teleconverter when
storing.

Condensation
Ifyour lens is brought directly fr om a cold place to a warm
place, condensation may appear on the lens.
To avoid thi s,
place the lens in a plastic bag or something similar. When
the air temperature inside the bag reaches the surrounding
temperature, take t
he lens out.
Cleaning the lens
• Do not touch the surface ofthe lens directly.
• If the lens gets dirty, brush off dust with a lens blower
and
wipe wi th a soft, dean do th (Cleaning Cloth is
recommended).

Do not use any organic solvent, such as thinner or benzine, to
clean the lens or the camera cone.
