1: Installing the speakers
This receiver allows you to use a 7.1 channel
system
(7 speakers and one sub woofer).
To fully enjoy theater-like multi channel
surround sound requires five speakers (two
front speakers, acenter speaker, and two
surround speakers) and asub woofer
(5.1
channel).

You can enjoy high fidelity reproduction of
DVD software recorded sound in the Surround
EX format if you connect one additional
surround back speaker
(6.1 channel system) or
two surround back speakers
(7.1 channel

•When you connect a 6.1 channel speaker system,
place the surround back speaker behind the
listening position.
•Since the sub woofer does not emit highly
directional signals, you can place it wherever you
want.

3: Connecting the TV
You can watch the selected input image when
you connect the HDMI OUT or MONITOR
OUTjack to aTV.
It is not necessary to connect all the cords.
Connect audio and video cords according to

Notes
•Be sure to tum on the receiver when the video and
audio signals
of aplayback component are being
output to a
TV via the receiver. Unless the power is
turned on, neither video nor audio signals will be
transmitted.

Definition Multimedia Interface.
It is an
interface which transmits video and audio
signals
in digital format.

Digital, DTS, and Linear PCM.
