On placement
•Place the system in a location with adequate
ventilarion to prevent heot build-up in the system.
• At high volume, over long periods of time, _he cabinet
becomes hoi to the touch. This is no_ a malfunction.
However, touching tile cabinet should be avoided. Do
not place the unit in a confined space where
ventilarion is poor as this moy cause overheating.
• Do no_ block the ventilodon slots by putting anything
on the system. The system is equipped with a high
power amplifier. If the ventilation slots on the top
surface are blocked, the unit con overheat and
malfunction.
• Do not place the system on a soft surface such as a rug
that might block file ventilotion holes on tile bottom.
• Do no_ place tile system in a location near heot
sources, or in a place subject to direct sunlight,
excessive dust, or mechonicM shock.
On operation
• Iflhe system is brought directly from a cold to a warm
location, or is placed ill a very damp room, moisture
may condense on the lenses inside _he system. Should
this occur, the system moy not operme properly. In
this case, remove the disc and leave tile system turned
on for about half an hour until the moisture
evaporates.
• When you move the system, take out any disc. If you
don't, _he disc may be damaged.
•For power saving purposes, the system can be
completely turned off by the I/(_) button on the
syslem. Though fl_e LED remains lit for a while, the
system is completely off.
On adjusting volume
DO not _urn up the volume while listening to a section
x,vith very low level inputs or no audio signals. [f yotl
do, the speakers may be damaged when a peak level
section is suddenly played.
On cleaning
Clean the cobinet, panel, and controls with a soft cloth
slighHy moistened with a mild detergent solution. Do
not use any type of abrasive pad, scouring powder or
solvent such as alcohol or benzine.
Ifyou have any questions or problem s concerning your
system, please consult your nearest Sony dealer.
On cleaning discs
DO not use a commercially available CD/DVD
cleaning disc. It may cause a malfunction.
On your TV's colour
If_e speake_ should cause the TV se_en to have
colour irregularity, turn oft-lhe TV ot once then turn it
on after 15 to 30 minutes. If colour irregutarily skould
persisb place the speakers Far_ker away from the set.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Caution: This system is capable of holding a still
video image or on-screen display image on your
television screen indefinilely. If you leave the still
video image or on-screen display image displayed
on your TV for an extended period of time you risk
permanent damage to your television screen.
Projection televisions are especially susceptible to
this.
On moving the system
When you carry _he system, use the following
procedure to protect the inner mechanism. Remove lhe
disc, and then press and hold tile • button on the
system. A|}er "MECI IA LOCK" is displayed on the
front panel display, remove the AC power cord from a
wall outlel.
