1-3. Required Tool
1-3-1. Installation/Removal of Coaxial Harness
Required Tool
Use the tool and skewer below when replacing a coaxial harness.
Parts name: Connector removal tool
Parts No.: J-7121-750-A
Installation
1. Slide the connector removal tool in the direction of the arrow 1and interpose the connector.
2. Adjust the position to the connector on the board and push the coaxial harness vertically in the direc-
tion of the arrow 2.
3. Slide the connector removal tool in the direction of the arrow 3and remove it.
4. Push the connector by the even plane of the skewer.
Removal
1. Slide the connector removal tool in the direction of the arrow 1and install it.
2. Pull out the connector removal tool vertically in the direction of the arrow 2.
3. Remove the connector removal tool from the coaxial harness in the direction of the arrow 3.

When replacing the antenna, use the following tool.

.Use this tool together with the SH type open head (SH8D3/8) made by TOHNICHI or equivalent.

1-3-3. LEMO Connector Board (CN-4078 Board)
When replacing the LEMO connector board (CN-4078 board) which is used mainly for CE destination,
use the following tool.
Part name: Bit (LEMO) tool (LEMO nut mounting tool)

1-4. Water Detection Sheet
The three water detection sheets are attached to this unit.
These sheets are used to judge whether water has entered inside of this unit due to submergence, etc.
Judgment method
t
If the water detection sheet gets wet and becomes blurred, it does not return to the original state even after
it is dried. The water detection sheet does not react to the dampness. It reacts only to the dew drop and
water drop.
Procedure after judgment
When the water detection sheet is blurred, replace it referring to Section 3-3-1.

1-5. Item List in Test Mode
The item list in the test mode used for operation confirmation is described below. To enter each item,
hold down the [SET] button. The setting of each item can be switched using [+] and [_] buttons. There
are items in which the change in setting brings a violation of the law. For the item whose change is
prohibited, therefore, do not change the setting. Turn on the power again when you changed the setting
incorrectly. The change in setting may be able to be recovered.
Entering the test mode
1. Turn on the power of this unit.
2. Move a menu to VERSION.
3. Hold down the [SET] button for two seconds or more.
4. Press the [+], [_], and [+] buttons sequentially.
5. Lastly, hold down the [_] button for two seconds or more.
Exiting the test mode
1. Turn off the power of this unit.

_Displays the firmware version of CPU (IC402) on the DPR-396 board.
FPGA VERSION _Displays the firmware version of FPGA (IC201) on the DPR-396 board.
REMOTE VERSION _Displays the firmware version of remote CPU (IC2000) on the RM-215 board.
CH PLAN VERSION _Displays the version of the channel plan built in EEPROM (IC813) on the
TX-172 board.
SERIAL NUMBER _Displays the serial number of this unit.
DESTINATION Prohibited Sets the destination of the RF circuit. Change is prohibited.
Not used for maintenance service.
RANGE0 Prohibition
of numerical
change
Changes the GAIN of the amplifier circuit of the RF circuit per frequency. The
value cannot be changed. In the service, the transmission frequency can be
changed by moving the screen to B (C), B (L) and B (H) used for the setting
of frequency during the measurement of RF.

TX DATA WRITE Prohibited The changed status of the TX-172 board is written in EEPROM (IC813).
Notice that the status cannot be recovered when it is written incorrectly.

REMOTE FREQ Changeable CH used for pairing can be changed. Not used for maintenance service.
INTERNAL MAC _Displays the remote control ID of this unit.
PAIRING MAC _Displays the remote control ID of a pairing partner.
CPU UPDATE Prohibited This is used for design and investigation. Not used for maintenance service.
ADC RESET Changeable This is used for design and investigation. Not used for maintenance service.
FREQ SET Changeable This is used for design and investigation. Not used for maintenance service.
ADC MODE Prohibited This is used for design and investigation. Not used for maintenance service.
IQ DAC CONTROL Changeable IQ DAC (IC300) on the DPR-396 board can be put into the SLEEP state.
In the SLEEP state, a non-modulated signal is output from the RF circuit.
Used during RF frequency measurement.
QMOD CONTROL Changeable This is used for design and investigation. Not used for maintenance service.
OEL ALL LIGHT Changeable Lights up all dots of the organic EL display.
All lights during ALL LIGHT setting.
FREQ 6MHz JUMP Changeable The transmit frequency of the RF circuit can be changed in units of 6 MHz.
Not used for maintenance service.

Check if the radio wave is output using the receiver.

3) Failure of TX-172 board (failure of audio circuit): Replace the TX-172 board.

2-2. Error Message
The following error message may be displayed on the display portion by the self-diagnosis function built
in this unit.

XPLL ERROR CAN'T LOCK
XBOOT ERROR STEP No.11
The setting of built-in PLL synthe-
sizer has failed.
It is likely that there is some trouble in the IC808 on
the TX-172 board peripheral circuit.
Check if there is any abnormality in the path and
parts connected to IC808.
XFPGA ERROR CONFIG TIMEOUT
XBOOT ERROR STEP No.12
The FPGA startup has failed. It is likely that the data of flash memory in IC203 on
the DPR-396 board is abnormal.
Write the data by referring to Section 5. If the error
message is still displayed, there is a large possibility
that some trouble in the peripheral circuit of IC201,
IC202, IC203, IC721, IC722 or IC723 on the DPR-
396 board has occurred.
Check if there is any abnormality in the path and
parts.

The data reading from EEPROM
(IC813) on the TX-172 board has
failed and the startup process has
stopped.
It is likely that the EEPROM data in IC813 is abnor-
mal.
Write the data by referring to Section 5.
If the error message is still displayed, check if there is
any abnormality in the path and parts connected to
the periphery of IC490.
XCHANNEL PLAN FORMAT ERROR There is an abnormality in the data
of channel plan stored in EEPROM
(IC813) on the TX-172 board.
XREMOTE ERROR DEVICE NOT
FOUND
There is no response from IC2000
in the writing process of IC2000 on
the RM-215 board.
It is likely that there is some trouble in the IC2000
peripheral circuit.
Check if there is any abnormality in the path and
parts connected to IC2000.
XBOOT ERROR STEP No.4

The power on process has failed
and the startup process has
stopped.
Write the data by referring to Section 5.
If the error message is still displayed, it is likely that
there is some trouble in the IC402 or IC601 on the
DPR-396 board peripheral circuit.

puter built-in data has failed and the

Notes on Removing and Replacing the Main Parts
3-1. Tightening Torque
This unit is designed with drop protection. In order to maintain the drip-proof performance, be sure to
tighten the screw with the specified torque.
Tightening Torque:
.P1.7 x1.6: 0.12 ?0.01 N.m
.P1.7 x11: 0.30 ?0.05 N.m
.LRT screw M2: 0.30 ?0.05 N.m

When using the torque driver with the notation of cN.m, interpret it as follows.

Do not block them.
Connect the harness to CN500
