1. INTRODUCTION
VoxTaker 192 PRO is a groundbreaking-technology studio microphone
for professional recording. It combines dual high-precision large
diaphragm condenser capsule, precision FET preamplication circuitry,
real 24Bit/192kHz sampling accuracy, and USB 2.0 high-speed audio
processing chip.
It is compatible with all recording software and ASIO audio drivers and
offers a professional driver interface with the newest 2.0 class audio
device denition. The built-in monitor interface with 3.5mm stereo
headphone jack, volume and Gain controls, provides real-time zero
latency monitoring for maximum comfort during recording.
The transducer element is a dual-condenser golden-plated large dia-
phragm capsule with selection of Uni/Bi/Omni-directional polar pattern.
All these features make the VoxTaker 192 PRO the perfect tool for any
capturing need: from human voice to acoustic instrument miking, to
background music, to choral and orchestral recording. It is a real helper
for music creation.

4. POWER REQUIREMENTS
VoxTaker 192 PRO is powered by the USB port of your device, meaning
that normally you can just plug the microphone in and get started right
away. For non-standard USB ports, a powered USB hub may be required.
The VoxTaker 192 PRO is a “Plug & Play” USB device, compatible with
both Windows and Mac computers. It can be used without driver, allow-
ing 2-channel record and playback at up to 192kHz – 24bit.
The VoxTaker 192 PRO features a blue LED inside the microphone grill

that indicates when the microphone is powered. If the light does not
turn on after plugging the microphone in, the computer or device you
are using may not provide enough power for the VoxTaker 192 PRO. If
this is the case, we recommend connecting the VoxTaker 192 PRO via a
powered USB hub.
5. HOW TO USE THIS MICROPHONE

1. Polar Pattern Selection - This switch has 3 positions. Starting
from left, the rst is Cardiod (pick-up area is in front side); central
position is Dual polar pattern (pick-up areas are front and rear
side); third position is Omni-directional (the microphones picks up
sounds from all directions).
2. -10dB Pad Attenuator - It has two positions. When the switch is
on "0", it doesn't affect the sound; when on "-10dB", it attenuates
10dB the overall signal. It is useful to adapt the microphone to
different audio interfaces or USB input devices.
3. Low-Cut Filter - It has two positions. When it is on " ", it doesn't
affect the sound; when it is on " ". it activates a -10dB low-cut
lter from 100Hz.

4. Gain - This knob adjusts gain level to adjust preamp circuitry to
the incoming sound.
5. Headphones - It adjusts monitor sound level to the mini-jack
output (6).
6. Headphones Out - It is the 1/8" stereo jack output where you
can connect your headphones and monitor your sound during
recording.
5.1. Pop-Filter Assembly
We strongly recommend using
the supplied pop-lter for all
vocal recording. This helps in
minimizing plosive sounds
(like hard “P”, “B”, “T” and “K”
sounds) that produce a sudden
jet of air and can cause the cap-
sule to overload and produce
“popping” sounds. An ideal
reference is to keep a distance
of 15-20 cm from the VoxTak-
er 192 Pro with the pop lter
attached.
To mount the pop lter, put
Pop-Filter fork base (1) between
the thread of the microphone
base (2) and the shock-mount
ring screw (3). Tighten the last
ring screw to block the assem-
bly.

6. SET UP
Any level and sampling frequency adjustments, in addition to the Gain
regulation through the knob n. 4 on the microphone (see "5. HOW TO
USE THIS MICROPHONE" on page 6), to set the ideal recording level
and quality can be made from within your recording program, or via
your computer system preferences.
To adjust input level and sampling frequency from within your recording
software, refer to the manual provided by the software developer. To
manually adjust your input level and sampling frequency via your com-
puter system preferences, use the following instructions.
6.1. Adjusting the input level
1) Mac OS computer
Connect your VoxTaker Microphone to a USB Port of your computer. Be
sure that the blue LED inside the microphone grill is on. If it doesn't turn
on after plugging the microphone in, the computer may not provide
enough power for the VoxTaker 192 Pro. If this is the case, we recom-
mend connecting the VoxTaker 192 Pro via a powered USB hub.
Click on the Apple symbol at the top left of your screen and select
"System Preferences".

Click on “Sound” to open the sound options.
Open the “Input” tab.

From here, select “Soundsation VoxTaker192” from the list of devices,
and adjust the input level using the slider.
2) Windows computer
Connect your VoxTaker Microphone to a USB Port of your computer. Be
sure that the blue LED inside the microphone grill is on. If it doesn't turn
on after plugging the microphone in, the computer may not provide
enough power for the VoxTaker 192 Pro. If this is the case, we recom-
mend connecting the VoxTaker 192 Pro via a powered USB hub.
Once the microphone is connected and the internal LED is on, Windows
will automatically search for the USB driver of VoxTaker 192 Pro and
install it in your computer (be sure the PC is connected to the Internet).
This operation will take a few seconds. Please wait until the system
tells you that the device is ready to use in the lower right corner of the
screen.
Open the Start menu and click on "Windows Settings"
Open the "Devices" preferences from within the Windows Settings
folder.

You will see the VoxTaker 192 Pro listed among the various connected
devices.
Double click on it to access device properties, and open "Recording"
tab.

Then double click on "Soundsation VoxTaker192" to adjust the input
level using the slider.
6.2. Adjusting the sample frequency
Adjusting the sample frequency affects sound quality and the size of
audio les you're going to record. The VoxTaker 192 Pro allows you to
adjust this parameter from 44.1kHz to 192kHz (192kHz can only be used
under USB2.0 fast mode).
1) Mac OS computer
Click on Launchpad and select "Other" folder. Then launch "Audio MIDI
Setup" application.
In Audio Devices window, select on left side "Soundsation VoxTaker192"
device.

Then open the "Format" drop-down menu to choose the appropriate
value.
2) Windows Computer
As in the input level adjustment procedure, open the Start menu,
click on "Windows Settings" and open the "Devices" preferences from
within the Windows Settings folder.
Choose VoxTaker192 device and double click on it to access micro-
phone properties. Then open "Advanced" tab and choose the appro-
priate format from the drop-down menu.
7. MICROPHONE STORAGE
After use, remove the Voxtaker 192 Pro from its pop lter and shock
mount, wipe it with a clean cloth and place in the supplied aluminum
case. In any case, please be noticed that a condenser microphone is
extremely sensitive to moisture. So, if the mic is being used regularly,
we strongly suggest you to cover with a protective cloth.

11. WARRANTY AND SERVICE
All SOUNDSATION products feature a limited two-year warranty. This
two-year warranty is specic to the date of purchase as shown on your
purchase receipt.
The following cases/components are not covered from the above war-
ranty:
• Any accessories supplied with the product
• Improper use
• Fault due to wear and tear
• Any modication of the product effected by the user or a third
party
SOUNDSATION shall satisfy the warranty obligations by remedying
any material or manufacturing faults free of charge at SOUNDSATION’s
discretion either by repair or by exchanging individual parts or the
entire appliance. Any defective parts removed from a product during the
course of a warranty claim shall become the property of SOUNDSATION.
While under warranty period, defective products may be returned
to your local SOUNDSATION dealer together with original proof of
purchase. To avoid any damages in transit, please use the original
packaging if available. Alternatively you can send the product to
SOUNDSATION SERVICE CENTER – Via Enzo Ferrari , 10 – 62017 Porto
Recanati - Italy . In order to send a product to service center you need
an RMA number. Shipping charges have to be covered by the owner of
the product.
