FEATURES
Compatible with PAL DVD (Video CD)
and NTSC DVD (Video CD)
This player can play discs recorded in
either PAL or NTSC format.
• A single LSI chip now integrates all
major DVD playback circuit functions
including MPEG2 decoder, video D/A
converter, and audio decoders.
• L/R stereo analog audio outputs (RCA)
for connection to existing head unit
aux inputs. Video output is composite
video (RCA).
• Supplied remote handles
multi-function software (multi-language
audio-track/subtitle, multi-angle), plus
all basic functions.

When Driving
Keep the volume level low enough to be
aware of road and traffic conditions.
When Car Washing
Do not expose the product to water or
excessive moisture. This could cause
electrical shorts, fire or other damage.
When Parked
Parking in direct sunlight can produce
very high temperatures inside your
vehicle. Give the interior a chance to
cool down before starting playback.
Use the Proper Power Supply
This product is designed to operate with
a 12 volt DC, negative ground battery
system (the regular system in a North
American car).
Protect the Disc Mechanism
Avoid inserting any foreign objects into
the slot of this player.
Failure to observe this may cause
malfunction due to the precise
mechanism of this unit.
Use Authorized Service Centres
Do not attempt to disassemble or adjust
this precision product. Please refer to
the Service Centre list included with this
product for service assistance.
For Installation
The unit should be installed in a
horizontal position with the front end up
at a convenient angle, but not more than
30°.

Handling and Cleaning
•Dirt, dust, scratches and warping disc
will cause malfunction.
•Do not place stickers or make
scratches on discs.
•Do not warp discs.
•A disc should always be kept in its
case when not in use to prevent from
damaging.

1. Direct sunlight
2. Dirty, dusty and damp areas
3. Near car heaters
4. On the seats or dashboard
Disc Cleaning
Use a dry soft cloth to wipe the surface.
If the disc is quite dirty, use a soft cloth
slightly moistured with isopropyl (rubbing)
alcohol. Never use solvents such as
benzine, thinner or conventional record
cleaners as they may mar the surface of
the disc.
Note:
A disc may become somewhat scratched
(although not enough to make it
unusable) depending on your handle it
and conditions in the usage environment.
Note these scratches are not an
indication of any problem with the player.
Preparing New Discs with Rough
Spots
A new disc may have rough edges on its
inside and outside edges. If a disc with
rough edges is used, the proper setting
will not be performed and the player will
not play the disc. Therefore, remove the
rough edges in advance by using a ball
point pen or pencil as shown on the right.
To remove the rough edges, press the
side of the pen or pencil against the
inside and outside edges of the disc.

Notes:
•Choose the mounting location where
the unit will not interfere with the
normal driving function of the driver.
•Before finally installing the unit,
connect the wiring temporarily and
make sure it is all connected up
properly and the unit and the system
work properly.
•Use only the parts included with the
unit to ensure proper installation.
The use of unauthorized parts can
cause malfunctions.
•Consult with your nearest dealer if
installation requires the drilling of holes
or other modifications of the vehicle.
•Install the unit where it does not get in
the driver’s way and cannot injure the
passenger if there is a sudden stop,
like an emergency stop.
•If installation angle exceeds 30˚from
horizontal, the unit might not give its
optimum performance.
•Avoid installing the unit where it would
be subject to high temperature, such
as from direct sunlight, or from hot air,
from the heater, or where it would be
subject to dust, dirt or excessive
vibration.
DIN FRONT/REAR-MOUNT
This unit can be properly installed either
from “Front”(conventional DIN Front-
mount) or “Rear”(DIN Rear-mount
installation, utilizing threaded screw holes
at the sides of the unit chassis).
For details, refer to the following
illustrated installation methods.

appropriate tabs according to the
thickness of the dashboard material
and bend them outwards to secure
the bracket in place.

INSTALLATION
Removing the unit
1. Frame
2. Insert fingers into the groove in the
front of frame and pull out to remove
the frame. (When reattaching the
frame, point the side with a groove
downwards and attach it.)
3. Lever
Insert the levers supplied with the unit
into the grooves at both sides of the
unit as shown in figure until they click.
Pulling the levers makes it possible to
remove the unit from the dashboard.

Installation using the screw holes on the
sides of the unit.

Fastening the unit to the factory radio
mounting bracket.
1. Select a position where the screw
holes of the bracket and the screw
holes of the main unit become aligned
(are fitted), and tighten the screws at
2 places on each side.
Use either truss screws (5 x 5mm) or
flush surface screw (4 x 5mm),
depending on the shape of the screw
holes in the bracket.

USING THE DETACHABLE FRONT PANEL
To Detach the Front Panel
1. Press the OPEN button and the front
panel will drop down.
2. Remove the front panel by grasping it
in the middle and pulling toward you.
3. For safekeeping, store the front panel
in the supplied protective case
immediately after being removed.
4. Push the front metal plate into the
main body. A ‘click’sound should be
heard.

To Reinstall the Front Panel
1. Push the front panel into the main
body. A ‘click’sound should be
heard.
2. Note that if the front panel fails to lock
in position properly, press control
button may not function and display
may be missing some segments.
Pressing the OPEN button and then
reinstall the front panel again.
Precautions when Handling
1. Do not drop the front panel.
2. Do not put pressure on the display or
control buttons when detaching or
reinstalling the front panel.
3. Do not touch the contacts on the front
panel or on the main unit body. It may
result in poor electrical contact.
4. If any dirt or foreign substances
adhered on the contacts, they can be
removed with a clean and dry cloth.
5. Do not expose the front panel to high
temperatures or direct sunlight in
anywhere.
6. Keep away any volatile agents (e.g.
benzene, thinner, or insecticides) from
touching the surface of the front panel.
7. Do not attempt to disassemble the
front panel.

Preparing the Remote Control
Inserting the Batteries
1. Open the battery compartment cover.
2. Insert the new batteries (two AAA
size). Make sure the positive and
negative terminals of the batteries are
oriented as indicated.
3. Close the cover
Using the Remote Control
Point the remote towards the front of the
DVD-7000.
Operation angle: About ±30 degree in
each the direction of the front of the
remote sensor.
To prevent damage to the unit, be sure
to follow the connection diagram
(page 9).

GENERAL OPERATION
TRANSMIT INDICATOR
During pressing the key on the remote
controller, the TRANSMIT INDICATOR
(29) will be lighted.
REMOTE SENSOR (IR)
Point the remote handset to the REMOTE
SENSOR (27). Receive the signal from
remote handset.
ON/OFF
Switch on the by pressing the POWER
button (1) shortly in front of panel, press
it again to turn off the unit.
FACEPLATE RELEASE
Press OPEN button (3) to detach the
removable faceplate.
SOUND ADJUSTMENT
Press SEL button (12) shortly to select
the desired adjustment mode, it will
change in the following order:
By pressing + / –(audio control) buttons
(13), it is possible to adjust the desired
sound quality.
MUTE
Press POWER button (1) for several
seconds to mute down the sound
instantly.
The mute state is released by press of
POWER/MUTE button (1), + / –(audio
control) buttons (13), detach of front
panel.
SELECT MODE
Press SOURCE button (4) to choose
desired mode:
If the CD changer is not connected, CDC
Mode is skipped.
ILLUMINATION (ILL)
Press ILL button (8) to control the
brightness of VFD.
FLASHING LED
If the front panel does not install in the
main unit, the LED will be flashing.
RESET
RESET button (26) is placed on the
housing and must be activated with
either a ball point pen or thin metal
object. RESET button (26) is to be
activated for the following reasons:
- Initial installation of the unit when all
wiring is completed.
- All the function buttons do not operate.
- Error symbol on the display.
CLOCK SETTING
Press SEL (12) quiescently and press
/ (6) to set up time after power off.
RADIO OPERATION
BAND SELECTION
At tuner mode, press BAND button (10)
to select the desired band.
The reception band will changed in the
following order:
LOCATION SELECTION
Press LOC button (18) to select Local or
Dx (initial). When Local is selected, the
“LOC”icon will be displayed on VFD.
STATION SELECTION
Press / (Tune up/down) buttons (7)
shortly to up/down one frequency step.
Press for several seconds is for manual
seek up/down.

stored into the preset memory.
If LOC is selected, 1st A/S is done by
LOC state and if 6ch. is not fully memorized,
2nd A/S search continued by DX state.
At the end of Auto Store operation,
mode is changed to Preset Scan.
- Preset Scanning
Press AS/PS button (11) shortly to scan
preset station. This operation starts
from next preset number and finished
at the same preset number of which
last channel memory stored.
Frequency of preset memory is
displayed with blinking for 5 seconds.
STATION STORING
Press any one of the preset buttons (21)
(M1 to M6) to select a station stored in a
memory preset. Press and hold a preset
button to store the current station in that
location.
CDC OPERATION
SELECT TRACKS
During CDC operation, press / (Tune
up/down) buttons (7) to move to the
following track or the previous track.
Track number shows on display.
Keep holding / (Tune up/down)
buttons (7) to fast forward or fast reverse.
CDC play starts from when / (Tune
up/down) buttons (7) are released.
PAUSE PLAYING
Press button (9) to pause CDC
player. Press it again to resume play.
REPEAT THE SAME TRACK
Press RPT button (23) to continuously
repeat the same track. Press it again to
stop repeat.
PREVIEW ALL TRACKS
Press SCN button (22) shortly to play
first several seconds of each track on the
current disc. Press it for several seconds
to play first track on each disc in the CD
magazine. Press it again to stop intro
and listen to track.
RANDOM PLAY
Press RND button (24) to play all tracks
on the current disc in random order.
Press it again to cancel the function.
SELECT DISC
Press D.DN/D.UP buttons (25) to select
previous disc or next disc.
LOADING CD/CDC/DVD
- Turn the ignition on to the accessory
position.
- Press the POWER button (1).
- Press SOURCE button (4) to select
DVD mode.
- Press the OPEN button (3), the front
panel will fold down slowly.
- Insert the disc with printed side facing
up.

The player starts playback automatically.
EJECTING A DISC
- Press the OPEN button (3).
- Let the panel fully fold down, then
press EJECT button (2) to eject.
- Remove the disc and close the front
panel
Note: Do not remove the disc while
pressing the EJECT button (2) with the
unit powered up. Do not press the
OPEN button (3) while a disc is ejecting.

STOPPING PLAY
- Brief press the STOP button (11) to
stop the unit playback, when press the
PLAY button (9) it can continuous
normal playback.
- Press STOP button (11) twice to stop
the playback and go back to initial
Track/Chapter.
RAPID FORWARD/RAPID REVERSE
Press & button (6) during play.
Each time the button is pressed, the
speed of rapid forward/reverse changes
according to the disc as follow.
DVD/VCD/CD/MP3:
SKIPPING TRACK
Press / (Tune up/down) buttons (7)
during playback to skip to next or
previous track.
Note: For some VCD2.0 discs (PBC-
playback control), / (Tune up/down)
buttons (7) may be unavailable.
PAUSE (still picture)
Press button (9) during playback.
Press it again to return to normal
playback.
ON-SCREEN DISPLAY FUNCTION
Press the DISP button (16) during
playback to display the contents of the
current disc on the screen.
Example:
DVD:
(1) Press DISP for the first time:
Title Number, Total Title Number, Chapter
Number, Total Chapter Number of this
Title of the disc currently being played
will be shown on the fluorescent display,
along with the elapsed time.
(2) Press DISP for the second time:

The message on the screen will be cleared.

Each time DISP is pressed, the message

MENU FUNCTION
TITLE menu
If the DVD has multiple titles recorded on
the disc, the preferred title can be selected
from the title menu to start playback.
1. Press TITLE button (18) during
playback, the title menu is displayed.
2. Press the / or / button (6 or
7) shown in TV screen, select
preferred title by the cursor button and
confirmed by ENTER key (5).
SUBTITLE LANGUAGE FUNCTION
(FOR DVD ONLY)
Press SUBTITLE button (17) during
playback.
Each time the button is pressed the
number of the angle changes in
sequential order.
Notes:
- The language number is different
according to the disc.
- Some discs only contain one language
soundtrack.
- When no different language soundtrack
are recorded, will be displayed at
screen left top corner.
OPERATION
MULTI-ANGLE FUNCTION
(FOR DVD ONLY)
Press ANGLE button (15) during
playback.
Each time the button is pressed, number
of the angle changes in sequential order.
Notes:
- The angle number is different according
to the disc.

The function only works for discs having
scenes recorded at different angles.
- When no different angles are recorded,
will be displayed at screen left top
corner.
MP3 DISPLAY FUNCTION
This player supports the following MP3
CD format:
1. Joliet
2. Romeo
3. ISO9660
MP3 disc is playing as the format of
FOLDER. Maximum is 255 folders.
For example:
Use to select the item or
folder, then press ENTER button (5) or
PLAY button (9).
In the playback, use to skip an item
ahead or back.
: Rapid reverse, : Rapid advance
Note: The FOLDER cannot be selected
during playing. It can be selected after
STOP button (11) pressed.

EXTRA FUNCTION CONTROL
The colour, contrast and brightness can
be adjusted in “STOP”mode.
ANGLE : Select the colour, contrast and
brightness
: Decrease the level
: Increase the level
DISP : Recover to the normal value
Notes:
1. For MP3 disc, the above modes
cannot be adjusted.
2. When the sum of the contrast value
and brightness value is 29, neither
should be increased.
3. Do not adjust the contrast and
brightness level too high.
Auxiliary or AV Input
It is used to switch between the DVD
player and external AUDIO/VIDEO.
Please connect the external AV line to
the AV input terminal of the DVD player.
Then press SOURCE button (4) to switch
to the external AV. Press it again to
return to the DVD unit.

SETUP MENU --- MAIN PAGE
1. Press SETUP button (19) in the stop
mode. [Press the STOP button (11)
twice to ensure the player under STOP
mode.]
2. The initial SETUP menu is displayed.
3. Select the preferred item by using the
/ (Tune up/down) buttons (7).

TV display setup
This is to select the appropriate TV
aspect (4:3 or 16:9) according to the
connected TV set.
Normal/PS (For 4:3 TV)
Plays back in the PAN & SCAN style.
(If connected to wide-screen TV, the left
and right edges are cut off.)
Normal/LB (For 4:3 TV)
Plays back in letterbox style.
(If connected to wide-screen TV, black
bands appear at top and bottom of the
screen.)
Wide (For 16:9 TV)
Select when a wide-screen TV set is
connected.

TV TYPE setup
This player can play discs recorded in
either PAL or NTSC format. Select NTSC
format, when you connected to NTSC
TV. Select PAL format, when you
connected to PAL TV. Select MULTI
format, the player TV output format will
be according to the DVD disc format.
--- GENERAL PAGE ---
PIC MODE setup
Select AUTO, the player PIC mode will
depend on DVD disc. Select HI-RES
format for best image resolution.
Select N-FLICKER format on format on
image or picture under noise affect.
--- GENERAL PAGE ---
ANGLE MARK display setup
If it is set to ON, when the multi-angle
DVD disc is playing, (the angle mark)
will appears on the screen; if it is set to
OFF, the mark will not appear.
