HT644 - 01
The HT 644-0is adialogue-oriented in-housetelephone withadisplay for indication ofall actions and
responses. Operating errors and faults areindicated withthe message "not possiblexx".
XX stands for an error code whichis explained inthe tableon page 7.
Several functionality is only availableup from version 4.xx.

Meaning of buttons
Using the key combination F and anumber between 0and 9, it is possible
toactivateremotecontrol functions 0- 9.
Call inhibit on/off
The softwareversion, the logic address and the assigned number are
displayed for around 2secs.
Concierge function
Call rerouting
Singleactuation withthe receiver downindicates the callback number.
Doubleactuation withthe receiver up creates aspeechconnection to
the user whichinitiated the announcement.
+Using keys collectivecall + 0, acollectivecall is started.
Normal operation: Light switch
Programming mode: Quits the submenu or programming menu.
Normal operation: Door releasebutton
Programming mode: Confirms an input (Enter)
Normal operation: Dial repeat
Programming mode: Scrolling forwardthrough mainmenus, submenus and tables.
Normal operation: Nofunction
Programming mode: Scrolling back through mainmenus, submenus and tables.

L1 The LED flashes when emergency or alarm calls arewaiting.
L2 The LED indicates an activated call inhibit status.
L3 The LED flashes when acall back request is stored.
The LED is permanently on as long as adoor loudspeaker call is waiting.

Calling auser.
Inorder tocall auser, the receiver must be lifted and acall number withmax. 4digits dialled.
Ifaseries 44x or 54x unit is called, the following message appears for around 2seconds:
"Call toXXXX". The message then disappears.
Ifaseries 64x is called, the message "Call toXXXX" appears until the called user picks up the receiver.
Then the message "Connection XXXX" is displayed.
After termination ofthe call, the default setting appears inthe display.
Accepting door calls
A door call is signalled by athree-tone chimeand LED 3. Inthe display, the message "Door XXXX
calling" appears.
By picking up the receiver, aconnection is immediately created tothe calling door. The message
"Connection XXXX" appears.
Door release
The door releasekey can be actuated at any time. Ifthe door releaseis actuated from the door
release, the message "door release" appears inthe display. Ifthe door loudspeaker cannot switchon the
door release, "not possible12" appears (see error table).
Transferring calls between two users
Inorder totransfer acall from auser withan existing speechconnection toathirduser, simply enter the
number ofthe thirduser. Ifthe called user is free, the speechconnection is immediately created between
the twousers. The display then indicates "Transfer OK"..
Ifthe user is engaged, the original connection between the first twousers is retained. The message in
the display then reads „Engaged still connected“.
Light switching
The light button can be actuated at any time. Ifthe relevant switching moduleis successfully
switched, the display "Light" appears. Ifthe switching modulefails toswitch, the error message "Not
possible9" appears.
Remotecontrolfunctions.
When actuating the key F and anumber between 0and 9, the relevant remotecontrol function is
activated.
Ifthe function is executed, the message "Function OK" is displayed.
Ifthe function is not executed, the message "Not possible11" appears inthe display.
Call silencing
The call silencing function is activated by pressing the key. Anactivecall silencing status is indicated
by LED 2and the message "Call sil. active". The call silencing function is deleted againby pressing the
key again.
Ifadoor loudspeaker call is received during the call silencing status, this is still indicated inthe display
and by LED 2, and the video interfaceis alsoactivated. However, the three-tone chimedoes not sound.
A speechconnection tothe door can be created by lifting the receiver.
Dialrepeat
Using the button, another call is activated tothe last called user.
Call diversion
Inorder todivert all the calls toasubscriber assigned toone subscriber number, press the key
and enter the respectivesubscriber number.
Following, the "Diversion toxxxx" message will be showninthe LED display. When re-pressing this key,
this call-diversion function will be de-activated again. Uptoamaximum of15 call-diversion transactions
will be possibleinthe system at the sametime.

A diverted call cannot be diverted toafurther destination over again(pleasenote: the call-diversion
featurerefers toasingle-stage call diversion).

Collectivecall
Ifthe unit is programmed for entitlement totransmit collectivecalls, acollectivecall can be started by
actuating the key and 0. The collectivecall is terminated by replacing the receiver.
Ifthe unit is programmed for entitlement toreceivecollectivecalls, beforeacollectiveannouncement a
briefattention signal sounds and the message "Collectivecall from XXXX" appears inthe display.
Ifthe key is actuated when the receiver is down, the number ofthe user initiating the collectivecall is
indicated inthe display. Doubleactuation when the receiver is downcreates aspeechconnection tothe
user initiating the collectivecall. This function is independent ofthe way inwhichthe collectivecall
function has been programmed.
Callback function
Inthe callback menu, it is possibletoprogram the availableoptions for storing unaccepted calls and
background calls inthe form ofacallback request. A maximum of3callback requests can be stored.
Callback requests areoptically indicated by LED 3flashing and alsoby the relevant number inthe
display. Ifthe stored callback request originates from a44x or 3XX HT, the callback requests aredeleted
from the memory when the relevant user has been called back. Ifthe callback request initiates from a
64X series HT, it is not deleted until the called user has picked up the receiver. Ifthe callback number is
entered when the receiver is down, the callback request is deleted.
Alarmand emergencycalls
Ifaunit is programmed for alarm and emergency call processing, the HT manages amaximum of4alarm
calls and 4emergency calls.
However, theseare not saved incaseofa power failure.
Alarm calls areacoustically indicated by an alternating alpha tone and optically indicated by aflashing of
LED 1and the message "Alarm call from XXXX".
The alarm call is deleted by aspeechconnection withthe initiating call station.
(The receiver ofthe initiating station must be lifted).
Emergency calls areacoustically indicated by acontinuous alpha tone and optically by LED 1flashing
and the message "Emergency call from XXXX".
Ifthereis no HTZ inthe system, and ifthe HT has the address 1, the reassurancelampis switched on by
the HT. Emergency calls can only be cancelled by the initiating call station by actuating the cancel
emergency call button.
The alpha tone can be switched off using the key 0or by expiry ofapreviously set timelimit. Switching
off deactivates all acoustic signal generators inthe system.
Ifthereareseveral alarm and emergency calls waiting, theseareindicated alternately inthe display. Ifa
fifthemergency or alarm call is initiated, this is optically and acoustically signalled but not stored or
managed by the system.
Ifstored alarm and emergency calls areforwarded from the HTZ, the first 4arealways stored.
Porter function (Concierge)
When enabling the porterfunction,the respectiveportergroups(door-call diversion)can be activated,
or deactivated, by means ofpressing the key and entering one digit between one and four.
The porter groups whichhavebeen activated will be showninthe "Con. 1(234)" display.
Enabling theoperating interface / functionality
Inordertocarry-outanyfunctionsofthe operating interface,the respectivefunctionshavetobe
enabled inthe "Ranges/functionsenable/disable" menu.

Additionalfunctionsbymeansof theMFM-611-10 unit
Remote-control functions, subscriber numbers, and switching functions can be assigned tothe MFMkeys
ofthe HT-644 module.Furthermore,inordertoextend the functionality ofthis modulerelevantly,
additional functions can be assigned tothe MFMkeys as well.
Please, find below alist ofthe additional functions whichcan be programmed toany arbitrary MFMkey.
(For further information, pleaserefer tothe respective"Programming instructions".)
Clearing thevoice circuit
Inorder tocarry-out aforced clearing ofany voicecircuit, apply this function.
Fire-alarmfunction
Inorder toactivate, or de-activate, any firealarm, apply this function.
Activating theoutput 12
Inordertoactivatethe output12 ofanyinternaltelephone forthree seconds, press anyMFMkey. (Key
function). Inorder toswitchone potential-free contact, employ the AR-85911 module.
Active/passivemode(HTZ function)
Inordertomakepossiblethatthe internaltelephone can be switched intothe “Active”state,and switch
all the other internal telephones intothe “Passive” state, first program aMFMkeyregarding the execution
ofthis function.Then,press this key. When being switched intothe activestate,the internaltelephone
will react tothe address 1and the programmed address aswell. When being switched intothe passive
state,the internaltelephone will react tothe programmed address only. However, when switched in
connection withan HTZ-442 module,this internaltelephone can be employed asaslavecentral-position
as well.
Error codetable
Instructions whichcannot be carried out or operating errors areindicated by the message:
"Not possibleXX" and anumber.
The tablebelow provides an explanation for the indicated error codes
