Electronic Components Troubleshooting Flowcharts
eSpinners: 7140 and 7200
The following flowcharts should help troubleshooting issues related to the display/electronic components of the 7140 and
7200 model eSpinners (generation 1 and 2).

Check the RPM
cables (black/white)
running through the
neck for continuity.

Make sure that the
following connections are
solid: The connection
between the top RPM
cable (coming out of the
display), the middle
extension cable, and the
connection between the
extension cable and the
bottom RPM sensor
cable.

sensor. Also see
document 635-4149.

show cadence

Look for damage and find out which cable is
damaged (display cable, 740-6964 – RPM
extension cable, 740-6986 – RPM sensor cable,
740-6987) & repair or replace it.

is shown on the display

not detect any flywheel
movement and/or when
pedaling there is no cadence
shown in the information
window on the screen.

of headphones to verify that
the issue is not caused by
the headphones itself.

eSpinner “No TV/Poor Picture Quality”
Check if:
swapping the coax cable from a working
nearby unit (if available) resolves the
picture quality issue
the coax cable is connected to the unit
the coax cable is connected to the wall
the coax cable is pinched or bent
between the wall and the unit
the connector used on the coax cable
has a compression connector installed
(see document 637-1415)
there is a signal coming out of the coax
cable and the signal strength is good
(about 5 db)
the TV option is enabled in the setting
(see document 637-1335)
All of these

Clean the surface of the
screen and look for debris
especially at the bottom of
the screen between the
glass and the display plastic.

The touch screen does not
recognize a touch on the screen
or the touch points are out of
alignment.

ensure the fault is not with
the heart rate strap itself (not
moist or battery low, see
also the Owner Manual for
details).
