CARE INSTRUCTIONS
To obtain the best possible protection and comfort when using this safety product, it is essential that you read and observe the following
information.
1. Important!
No cut-protection clothing can provide absolute protection against injuries by chainsaws. The degree of protection depends
on numerous factors (e.g. speed of the chainsaw, engine torque, angle at which the bar contacts the fabric, working
position – stooping or upright, etc.).
This cut-protection is not a replacement for safe working procedures. Incorrect use of a chainsaw can result in accidents.
You should therefore observe the safety regulations of the appropriate authorities and the safety notes in the operating
instructions being used.
2. Caution!
Examinations have shown that contamination of the clothing (by, for example, tree resins, oil or fuel residues in the
material) can have a negative effect on the function of the cut protection clothing. The number of times the clothing is
cleaned or washed can also (due to the mechanical effects of the washing machine) reduce the effectiveness of the cut
protection clothing. In order to ensure the best possible protection, the following rules for cleaning and care of the cut
protection clothing should be observed.
Cut protection clothing requires special care and should be cleaned regularly. It should be cleaned every week if worn daily
with average soiling. It should be washed immediately after use if severely soiled. Conventional detergent is recommended
for washing. Do not use fabric conditioners. Always wash with the zipper closed.
After washing, pull the cut protective clothing into shape while it is still damp and dry it in the air. Excessively high washing
temperatures or drying of the clothing in an electric dryer will reduce the protective function and the wearing properties by
shrinkage.
Instructions for cleaning:
(See the pictograms inside the garment)
Normal wash at 40 degrees C DO NOT DRY CLEAN
DO NOT IRON DO NOT BLEACH with chlorine
DO NOT TUMBLE DRY DRIP DRY ONLY
After washing lay the garment flat and reshape the trousers whilst still wet especially the legs to realign the protective
material
3. Avoid damaging the clothing by contact with sharp objects (the chain of the chainsaw, thorns, metal tools, etc.) Also avoid
contact with aggressive substances such as acids, oils, solvents, fuel, animal excrements and with hot objects (exhaust
pipes, etc.) and other heat sources (naked flames, heaters, etc.)
Important! If the garments are smeared with fuel, oil, grease or other inflammable substances while working change
clothes before continuing work – fire hazard! Ensure that the garments are cleaned as specified before they are reused.
4. Repair
Only the outer material can be repaired. Do not stitch through, or modify the cut protective layers. Never use a damaged or
ripped garment. The protective area must never be altered or repaired in any way.
5. Criteria for damaged clothing
Attention: Any garment where the cut protection has been damaged or modified can no longer be used! Any items of
clothing which are damaged or modified due to other causes must be discarded immediately.
6. Storage and transport
The garment should be stored in a dry well ventilated room. Allow to dry thoroughly, avoid excessive folding, store
preferably vertically away from UV light and exposure to liquids.
7. Weights
Medium size – Design A - approximately 1420 grams – Design C approximately 1580 grams. The weight of other styles
and sizes varies accordingly.
