THE BUILT-IN MENU SYSTEM

5
Your installer has set up your system to make certain types of signal
post processing – Audio Modes – available, provided these suit the
sources you have connected to your system. The purpose is to
improve your experience of sources for which content is oriented
towards different types of audio playback.
When you select a source and then press the Audio button on
your Model P1 remote control repeatedly, you toggle through
only those Audio Modes your installer has made available to tailor
the sound experience to your personal collection of sources and
your preferences. Three Audio Modes are accessible by default:
‘Music’, ‘Movie’ and ‘Games’.
AUDIO MODES

6
ROOMPERFECT™
The patented RoomPerfect™ room correction technology procedure ensures that your sound system produces rich, pure sound
throughout your room. RoomPerfect™ gives you perfect sound at the Focus and Global positions. Your Steinway Lyngdorf dealer may
have renamed the RoomPerfect™ modes, the dealer can also add additional Focus listening positions at any time.
RoomPerfect™ modes
Focus
Focus improves the sound quality at a single listening position, or
master seat, thus making Focus the best solution for optimal sound
quality when you are listening on your own.
Global
Global optimizes the sound for the room as a whole. This is ideal
for larger groups of listeners, e.g. when entertaining dinner guests,
or while listening in a home theater context.

7
VOICINGS
These predefined Voicings enable you to modify the original frequency balance, changing the sound to suit your personal taste, program
material and the listening situation. To select a voicing setting, press the button on your Steinway& Sons system remote control repeatedly
until the desired voicing is activated. Note that your Steinway Lyngdorf dealer can activate the Voicings you prefer to have in your system.
Neutral
No change in tonal balance. Recommended for high-quality
recordings.
Music
Lowers the midrange to compensate for recordings that would
otherwise sound too harsh.
News
Cuts low frequencies for live broadcasting and sports events.
Movie
Emulates the experience found in full-size theaters by lowering the
higher frequencies.
Action
Enhances the lower frequencies.
Action+Movie
A combination of the Action and Movie settings.

8
If you have additional rooms – or zones – with audio/video products that are part of your Steinway& Sons system, then the
Zone Control
menu will be accessible in the main menu. Depending on your system setup, however, some menu options might not be available.
Power
Turn power on and off in a zone.
Volume
Turn volume up and down in a zone. Cannot be adjusted if a
video-only source, e.g. component, is selected. If the volume
setting is Fixed, then the volume level is locked at a preset level.
Mute
Mute and restore the sound in a zone.
Source
Select a source to watch or listen to in a zone.
PRODUCT ZONES

9
Please note that the human perception of loudness is linked to
the level of distortion, and since Steinway Lyngdorf systems are
capable of reproducing very high sound pressure levels without
audible distortion, there is a risk that you may expose your ears to
sound levels that are significantly higher than they seem.
For this reason, we advise caution when you adjust the sound
volume, for levels close to and in excess of 0.0 on the volume
display. If you are in doubt as to whether a given sound pressure
level is harmful, simply reduce the volume to a more comfortable
level.
WARNING

10
Surfaces
Do not use ordinary furniture polish or cleaning agents as these
usually contain wax or silicone that may cause damage to your
system. Use a micro fibre polishing cloth, dry or slightly dampened
with de-mineralised water to polish the surfaces instead. This
especially applies to products with a high gloss lacquer finish.
Do not attempt to polish out scratches, instead contact your
certified Steinway Lyngdorf dealer.
Model P1 Remote Control
We recommend that you charge the remote control unit once a
month using the charger included with your system. While the
remote control is charging, the lyra logo on top of the remote
control flashes red.
RoomPerfect™
If you make any significant changes that could affect room
acoustics, such as moving, adding or removing furniture, carpets
or drapes, your installer should perform a new RoomPerfect™
calibration. This ensures that your system remains perfectly tuned
to the listening room.
Additional Focus positions
If you would like to add or change Focus positions, contact your
certified Steinway Lyngdorf dealer. A total of eight Focus positions
can be stored.
Service
Do not attempt to open the product cabinets or perform service
on the system yourself. This may cause damage to the system.
Contact your certified Steinway Lyngdorf dealer instead.
