machinereliability.Theseriesisavailableintwoprimarytype,eitherVibrationonlyor
VibrationandTemperature.Bothsensorsprovidea4‐20mAoutputforeachparameter
thoughtheVibrationonlymodelalsoincludesabuffered100mV/gdynamicsignaloutput
ontheterminalblock.TheCMCP420VTSeriesaretypicallyinstalledonabearinghousing,
ormachineframe,andconnectbacktotheuser’sPLC,DCS,SCADAorothercontrol
systemwherethe4‐20mAsignalscanberecorded,trendedordisplayed.Each
CMCP420VT/Exsensorisprovidedwithanapprovedflameproofhousing.

1. Thetemperatureattheflameproofenclosureshallnotexceed85°C.
TypicalInstallation(StudMount)
1. Preparemountingsurfaceusingaspotfacingkit,suchastheCMCP270L,to
createa1.0”(25.4mm)flatsurface.
2. Drillandtapthecenterholeforthecorrectmountingthread.Thesensoris
suppliedwithboth¼‐28andM8x1.25threadadapters.Mountingpadsmaybe
usedwithanextendedlengthmountingscrewormountingpadscanbeglued
tothemountingsurfaceusingasuitableadhesive.
3. Cleansurfacewithadegreasingagent.
4. Applyathinfilmofsiliconedialecticgreasetoachieveahigherdegreeof
surfacecontactbetweenthesensorandmountingsurface(ifnecessary).
5. Screwthesensorontothemountingstudandtorqueto9Nm.
6. Attachtheflameproofhousingtothesensor.
7. Torquethehousingto30Nm.
8. InstallconduitorflameproofcableglandperIEC/EN60079‐1.
9. Usingtwisted/shieldedcable,connectthesensortothecontrolsystemperthe
diagramshowninthewiringdetailsbelow.Allconnectionsaretobemade
insidethehousingandmustusecableratedforaminimumof85°C.
