Safety Recommendations
The packaging material (plastic
bags, boxes etc.) must be kept out
of the reach of children as it is a
potential source of danger.
People who require assistance must
be supervised constantly during ap-
plictaion. Such persons often under-
estimate the hazards involved (e.g.
strangulation with the USB cable of
the power adapter), so resulting in
injury.
The device contains small parts
which can block the respiratory tract
and lead to choking. Therefore, make
sure that you always keep the Vapor-
izer and accessories out of the reach

& Bickel. The use of products from
other sources can damage the bat-
tery.
If you have any concerns, ask a spe-
cialist to check whether the electrical
system is in accordance with the
local safety regulations.
If there are any problems during
operation, immediately pull out the
power adapter from the socket.
The USB cable of the power adapter
must be unwound over its entire
length (avoid rolling up and laying the
coils over each other). It must not be
exposed to any impacts and must
be kept out of the reach of children.
Also, it must not be kept near liquids
or sources of heat and must not be
damaged. Do not wind the USB cable
of the power adapter tightly, nor pull
it over sharp edges and never crush
or kink it. If the mains USB cable is
damaged, please contact our Service

1312
The amount of aromas and fragrances
released can be inuenced by the fol-
lowing factors:
1. Quality: The amount of aroma or
fragrance contained in the respec-
tive plant material that can be va-
porized.
2. Quantity: The amount of vaporiza-
tion material in the Filling Chamber.
3. Surface: The ner the plant is
ground, the greater the surface and
the more aromas and fragrances
can be released during the vapori-
zation cycle.
4. Temperature: The higher the tem-
peratures, the more aromas and
fragrances will be released at once.
Please note: Increasing the tempera-
ture should be the last resort, because
plant material tastes more roasted
when using higher temperature.
Since the plant ingredients are released
in a gentle manner, the vaporization
cycle may be repeated with the same
contents in the Filling Chamber. De-
pending on the four factors described
above, the Filling Chamber contents
may be reused multiple times until the
aromas and fragrances are released
completely.
If no more vapor is produced at the
highest temperature, then the vapori-
zation material is completely exhaust-
ed and must be replaced with new
material. However, for the best aroma
results it is advisable to replace the
vaporization material before this point.

7. COMMISSIONING AND OPERATION
Connecting the Vaporizer using the power
adapter or 12 volt Car Charger
Once the charging operation is com-
plete, rst disconnect the power adapt-
er from the mains socket and then un-
plug from the Vaporizer.
The CRAFTY cannot be oper-
ated while plugged in. It can
only be turned on again if it has
been partially charged beforehand.
The battery can also be
charged via the optional 12
volt Car Charger. Connect the
12 volt Car Charger to the power sock-
et of the Vaporizer using the USB cable
and then plug the Car Charger into the
socket in the car for the cigarette light-
er, or any other suitable 12 V socket.
Charge and complete the operation in
the same way as with the power adapt-
er (see Chapter 7.1. “Charging the Bat-
tery”, page 16).
Batteries are specially assem-
bled consumable items that
can only be replaced by Storz
& Bickel when the CRAFTY Vaporizer
is sent in to them.
Any attempt by the customer to re-
place the battery by him/herself is po-
tentially dangerous and leads to loss of
any claims under the warranty and ex-
empts Storz & Bickel from any liability.
Automatic Switching Off
The automatic switching off is used to
save battery capacity so that the Va-
porizer can be used as long as possible
without charging.
The device switches off automatically
one minute after the last press of a but-
ton or the last application. The switch-
ing off of the Vaporizer is indicated by
a short vibration and by displaying the
charged state.
A short press of the ON/OFF
switch during operation can
reset the automatic switching-
off to one minute.
7. COMMISSIONING AND OPERATION
Do not leave the device unat-
tended during operation.
Place the CRAFTY Vaporizer
only on a hard, heat-resistant, at, sta-
ble surface, never on soft surfaces or
ammable material. Check whether
the power supply voltage corresponds
to the voltage rating listed on the pow-
er adapter. The power adapter and USB
cable must be in perfect condition.
Connect the power adapter only to a
properly installed socket.
The manufacturer will not bear any
responsibility whatsoever if this acci-
dent prevention measure is not taken.
Please unplug the power adapter from
the mains socket to completely discon-
nect from the mains power supply.
7.1. Charging the Battery
The battery charge status is signaled
by the blue light on the LED display.
Explanations on the battery display
during the charging operation:
Steady blue light:
the battery is fully charged.
Blue, slow-ashing light: the battery
is between 61 and 96% charged
Blue, rapidly ashing light: the battery
is between 31 and 60% charged
Blue ashing: the battery is up to 30%
charged
Explanations of the battery display fol-
lowing switch off:
Steady blue light: the battery is
between 64 and 100% charged
Blue, slow-ashing: the battery is
between 32 and 64% charged
Blue, rapidly ashing: the battery is
between 1 and 32% charged
Blue ashing: battery is completely
discharged
Check the housings of the Va-
porizer and the power adapter
for signs of damage each time
before using or charging. The Vaporiz-
er may not be charged and neither Va-
porizer nor power adapter used if these
are damaged.
The battery charge of the new product
has a level of up to 80%. Fully charge
before using for the rst time.
The charging time for the battery de-
pends on how old it is and how high
the charge is on starting; it takes about
two hours if the battery is completely
discharged.
Connect the USB cable to the charg-
ing socket of the Vaporizer and to the
power adapter. Then plug the power
adapter into a suitable power socket.
Note: When the power adapter is
plugged into the mains, the LED dis-
play lights up in green/red/blue for a
moment and the Vaporizer vibrates
briey. This serves as a functional
check and indicates that the charging
operation has started.
The LED lights up and starts to ash,
i.e. the battery is being charged. As
soon as the battery is fully charged,
the charge indicator lamp stops ash-
ing and shows a steady blue light.

plant material too much so that the
airow is not unnecessarily impeded.
Remove any excess plant material left
around the lling aperture so that it is
clean and allows the Cooling Unit to be
tted.
If the Filling Chamber is only
partially lled, then the vapori-
zation material may shift
around; the hot air then bypasses the
vaporization material, so that no va-
porization can occur.
If the Filling Chamber is not to be lled
completely, it is recommended to
place the included Liquid Pad over the
herbs, and then mount the Cooling Unit
on the Vaporizer.
8. FILLING THE FILLING CHAMBER7. COMMISSIONING AND OPERATION
7.2. Heating Up
The CRAFTY Vaporizer provides two
temperature levels that are set in the
factory: The basic temperature at
180°C (356°F) and the booster tem-
perature at 195°C (383°F).
Both the basic and booster
temperatures can be altered
using a smartphone and the
CRAFTY App (see Chapter 11.4. “Set-
ting Temperature with the CRAFTY
App”, page 29).
Switch on the device (heating up the
Vaporizer with full Filling Chamber and
Cooling Unit mounted is recommend-
ed). To do this, press the orange ON/
OFF switch for at least half a second.
The Vaporizer responds with a short
vibration. The vibration does not take
place if there is a fault.
The LED display indicates the heating
operation up to the basic temperature
by a steady red light. Heating up the
heat exchanger can take up to two min-
utes, depending on the temperature
setting and battery charge level. Once
the basic temperature is reached, this
is signaled by a short double vibration
and a steady green light.
If the basic temperature can no longer
provide adequate evaporation, the
booster temperature can be activated
by means of a double-click on the
orange-colored ON/OFF switch. The
LED displays the heating-up operation
for the booster temperature by a red
ashing signal. Once the booster tem-
perature is reached, this is signaled by
a short double vibration and a green
ashing signal.
7.3. Temperature Setting
The levels for the basic and booster
temperatures can be altered with the
aid of a smartphone and the CRAFTY
App. See Chapter 11. “CRAFTY App”,
page 27.
7.4. Reset to Default Settings
It is possible to reset settings (see
Chaper 11.1. “Default Settings”, page
27) which were changed using the
CRAFTY App. The reset is made by
pressing the ON/OFF button for ten
seconds while the CRAFTY Vaporizer
is switched on.
If the ON/OFF button has been
pressed for ten seconds, the signaling
of the reset is made by the following
running lights sequence: red/green/
blue/red/green/blue/red/green/blue.
The CRAFTY Vaporizer also vibrates
while the lights sequence is running.

8.2. Filling the Filling Chamber using
the Filling Aid
Remove the Cooling Unit from the Va-
porizer and remove any residues that
may be in the Filling Chamber. The
Filling Chamber Tool can be a help in
doing this.
Remove the lower cap of the Filling Aid
by turning counterclockwise. Place the
Filling Aid on the Vaporizer and attach
by turning it clockwise. Remove the
upper cap from the Filling Aid. Pull the
plug and use it to ll a portion of plant
material through the central opening
into the Filling Chamber.
Make sure that the Filling
Chamber is not overlled (see
Chapter 8. “Filling the Filling
Chamber”, page 19).
Fill the Filling Aid to the lower rim (see
the two following drawings)!
Overlling leads to clogging of the
Screens and can make inhaling more
dicult.
Then re-insert the plug into the central
opening and screw on the upper cap of
the Filling Aid. Unscrew the Filling Aid
with a 90° rotation and screw on the
lower cap again. Then re-mount the
Cooling Unit by rotating it clockwise
through 90°.
Filling the Filling Chamber with the Filling Aid
The lower rim of the Filling Aid must be
above the top level of the plant material
8. FILLING THE FILLING CHAMBER
Take care that the Screens are
not obstructed with plant ma-
terial. To guarantee optimal
results, we recommend cleaning the
Screens after each vaporization cycle
with the enclosed Cleaning Brush.
The upper Screen especially can be-
come clogged with plant material and
so make inhaling dicult. In this case,
remove the Screen as in Chapter 10.
“Disassembling, Cleaning and Assem-
bling”, page 23 and clean or insert a
new Screen.
Then re-mount the Cooling Unit by ro-
tating it clockwise through 90°.
As soon as the lower Filling Chamber
Screen is clogged or shows depos-
its, a cleaning of the Filling Chamber
is needed. For that, please rstly re-
move the lower Screen as described
in Chapter 10.3. “Removal of the lower
Filling Chamber Screen”, page 26
and clean the Filling Chamber with
a cotton stick that has been soaked
in alcohol. Please make sure that no
alcohol drops into the inner of the de-
vice. After cleaning, a new screen is to
be inserted.
8.1. Filling Aid
The Filling Aid supplied with the unit
makes lling the Filling Chamber an
easy and clean operation and serves
as a magazine for transporting and
storing plant material already ground
in the Herb Mill.
To ll the Filling Aid, remove the up-
per cap and ll the bowl incl. plug with
ground plant material. Replace the up-
per cap and close it.

When the vapors are cooled, it is in-
evitable that a small fraction is con-
densed on the internal surfaces of the
Cooling Unit.
The component parts of the Cooling
Unit, including the Mouthpiece must
be thoroughly cleaned on a regular ba-
sis to guarantee proper operation and
pure avor.
For hygienic reasons, it is also neces-
sary to clean these components when
the Vaporizer is to be used by a differ-
ent person.
The condensate can be sticky.

Using the CRAFTY Vaporizer
Mount the Cooling Unit on the Vaporiz-
er and heat up. This ensures that both
the Filling Chamber and the material
to be vaporized are preheated and the
vaporizing can begin as soon as the
heating process is completed.
Caution! Hot surface!
After using the CRAFTY Va-
porizer, do not touch the Fill-
ing Chamber until it has cooled down
again.
Once the Vaporizer has reached the set
temperature (steady green light for the
basic temperature and ashing green
for the booster temperature, each also
accompanied by a short double vibra-
tion) and the Mouthpiece is folded out,
then the inhaling process may begin.
Take the Mouthpiece between the lips,
and inhale slowly and evenly for sev-
eral seconds.
Please note the following about va-
por generation: the more intense the
vapors, the greater the impairment of
the flavor.
A very high intensity (or densi-
ty) of the vapor can lead to irri-
tation of the respiratory pas-
sages from the concentration of the
aromas and fragrances.
In this case, the temperature should
be lowered, so that the intensity of
the vapors is reduced (see Chapter
11.4. “Setting Temperature with the
CRAFTY App”, page 29).
The device is not to be used, if
the user has respiratory tract
or lung conditions. Depending
on the density, the vapor could irritate
respiratory tracts or lungs, which can
lead to coughing.
Inhale only half the amount of
air you can normally manage.
Hold your breath for a few sec-
onds and exhale slowly. It is advisable
to deliberately concentrate on your
breathing process.
After vaporization, turn off the
CRAFTY Vaporizer. To do this, press
the orange ON/OFF switch for at least
half a second. The Vaporizer acknowl-
edges the switching off with a short
vibration.
Allow the Vaporizer to cool down be-
fore it is packed away.

Removal of the large base Seal Ring
Pressing out the upper Screen
Remove the large and small base Seal
Rings. Lever out the large Seal Ring
from the recess in the notch using the
Filling Chamber Tool.
Reassemble in reverse order.
When assembling, make sure
that Seal Rings are properly
seated. The Mouthpiece Seal
Ring, especially, must sit completely in
the Cap and be no longer visible.
The upper Screen must be inserted
carefully into the groove provided. Dis-
regarding this may allow plant parti-
cles to enter the Cooling Unit, so block-
ing this or be inhaled.
Push the upper Screen downwards out
of the Filling Chamber Cap from above
by using the Filling Chamber Tool sup-
plied.

Pull the Cooling Unit
Cap from the Cooling Unit Base
10.1. Disassembling and Reassem-
bling the CRAFTY Cooling Unit
Turn the Cooling Unit with a 90° rota-
tion counterclockwise in order to re-
move it from the Vaporizer.
Pull out the Mouthpiece from the Cool-
ing Unit Cap, rotate slightly back and
forth while doing this, and pull off the
Mouthpiece Seal Ring.

Removal of the Cap Lock
Opening the Cap Lock
Open the Cap Lock by pulling it rear-
wards.
Remove the Cap Lock from the Cap by
pulling up at one side.
If the Cooling Unit must be im-
mersed into alcohol (ethanol)
the Cap Lock only has to be
removed from the Cooling Unit. Ex-
tended contact with alcohol can lead
to whitening of the Cap Lock Label or
disintegration of the glue.
Separate the Cooling Unit Cap from
the Cooling Unit Base by pulling off the
cap upwards.

11. CRAFTY APP
General
The CRAFTY App is not necessary
for operating the CRAFTY Vaporizer,
does however allow individual settings
to be made and allows the readout
of additional information when the
CRAFTY Vaporizer is in operation.
As the CRAFTY Vaporizer has too little
space for a display, the Vaporizer can
be connected to an iPhone or Android
smartphone via Bluetooth and the
smartphone’s display used.
Minimum requirement for this is iOS6
for the iPhone or Android 4.3.
The CRAFTY App can be downloaded
from the App Store or Google Play
Store.

11.2. Connecting the CRAFTY Va-
porizer with a Smartphone
Switch on the smartphone and down-
load the CRAFTY App. Ensure that
the Bluetooth function is switched
on and this is not blocked by another
Bluetooth device. Then switch on the
CRAFTY Vaporizer and, after that, the
CRAFTY App.
You will now be requested to enter
the serial number (= alphanumeric
sequence of six numbers printed on
the bottom label of the device) of your
CRAFTY Vaporizer.
It is sucient to enter the serial num-
ber once. Calling the CRAFTY App au-
tomatically connects the two devices.
If another CRAFTY Vaporizer is to be
controlled by the same smartphone,
the previous connection is to be dis-
connected by use of the “Disconnect“
button and the serial number of the
other CRAFTY Vaporizer entered.
Manual cleaning of the disassembled Cooling
Unit
Do not immerse any plastic
components for longer than
an hour in alcohol or ethanol.
Extended contact with alcohol or etha-
nol can lead to discoloration or embrit-
tlement of plastic parts.
Before assembling allow all compo-
nent parts to dry properly.
After cleaning, check all component
parts for surface damage, tears, sof-
tening or hardening, impurities, distor-
tion and discoloration and set dam-
aged component parts aside.
Warning! Alcohol (ethanol) is
ammable and may easily ig-
nite.
Sets of new Cooling Units may
be ordered from www.storz-
bickel.com.
10.3. Removal of the Lower Filling
Chamber Screen
Remove the lower Filling Chamber
Screen using the Filling Chamber
Tool by pushing in along the indenta-
tion of the Filling Chamber. In this way
the Screen arches and detaches itself
from the notch.
Insert a new Screen while taking care
that the edges of the Screen seat into
the groove at the bottom of the Filling
Chamber.
10.2. Cleaning the CRAFTY
Cooling Unit
The Cooling Unit can be disassem-
bled for cleaning purposes and then
assembled again (see Chapter 10.1.
“Disassembling and Reassembling the
CRAFTY Cooling Unit”, page 24).
The Cleaning Brush, cotton swabs and
paper or cotton towels may be used for
cleaning. As solvent, we recommend
alcohol (ethanol) or warm water with
wash-up liquid.
For optimal airow, please ensure the
Cooling Unit and Mouthpiece are clean
and free from debris blockage.

Hygienic Use
The Lip Piece, which is available as an
accessory, will be delivered brand new
and in a low-germ, but not fully-sterile
state.
The Lip Piece is equipped with
a check valve. This check
valve reduces the danger of a
potential contamination inside the
Cooling Unit by preventing breathing
into the Cooling Unit.
