1.ProgramChange
The program changefunction isusedto select which patchyou want from your MIDI
module.You canselect the program changenumberbypressing andholding the
Program Change button andentering the numberinthe centraloctave/number entry
field that correspondsto the patchyou desire. When you release the program
changebutton,the message will besent.Values runfrom 1-128.(Note; Some
manufacturerscountfrom 0-127.You may find that you have to consistently adda
value ofoneto getthe patch you wish. EX;to get patch #0 onanRoland instrument,
enterthevalueof1 ontheCMS-161)
2.BankSelect
Thebankselect function allows you to changethe patchbankofyour MIDImodule
orkeyboard. Dueto different manufacturersapproaches to this function, the format
for entering this parameter depends onthe model andmanufacturer ofyour MIDI
moduleorkeyboard. Please referto the MIDIImplementation Chart found inthe
manualofyourMIDImoduleorkeyboard for informationontheformat thatyourunit
requires.
1)Ifyourmodulerequires a value sent onlyoncontrolchannel32,you willsimply
needto press and hold the BankChange button, andenterthe banknumber
desired inthe central octave/number entry field. Whenyou release the bank
changebutton,the message will besent.
2)Ifyour module requires values to besentoncontrolchannel32and control
channel0,you will need to press andholdthe BankChange button, andfirst
enterthe value neededfor cc;32 inthe central octave/number entry field. Then,
whilecontinuingto holdthe bankselect button,press the keylabeled "-/H"(Bb)
(indicatesthat what follows isthe "higher byte") andthen enter the value needed
for cc;0inthe centraloctave/number entry field.When you release the bank
changebutton, the messages will besent.

3.MIDIChannel
TheMIDIChannelfunction isused to select which channelyou want your CMS-161
tosend on.You canselect MIDIchannelbypressing andholdingMIDIChannel
buttonandenteringthe numberinthe central octave/number entryfield which
corresponds to the channelyou desire. When you release the MIDIChannelbutton,
theCMS-161 willthensendonthe selected channel.Values runfrom 1-16.
