installation manual. For a successful installation, it is
important to follow these instructions carefully and
those in the Stûv 16-in & Z installation manual.

Step 1 The front of the thin edge frame
is flush with the flap. Use this as a guide to
place the fireplace accordingly with the
wall finishing thickness.
For the Stûv 16-Z, the insulated shell
cannot exceed the wall framing, but it can
be installed slightly off back.
For the Stûv 16-in, the fireplace can be
installed has intended in relation with the
masonry.
Step 2 Level the fireplace and install
the chimney and all other connections
needed.
Étape 1 Le devant du cadre fin s'aligne
avec l'abattant. Utiliser ce repère pour
positionner le foyer selon l'épaisseur de la
finition du mur.
Pour le Stûv 16-Z, le caisson d'isolation
ne doit pas dépasser la charpente, mais
peut être installé légèrement en retrait.
Pour le Stûv 16-in, le foyer peut être
installé comme souhaité en fonction de la
maçonnerie.
Étape 2 Mettre le foyer de niveau et
installer la cheminée ainsi que tout autre
raccordement nécessaire.
INSTALLATION
Étape 3 Placer la main froide autour du
cylindre de barrure au-dessus de la porte.
Étape 4 Tourner la main froide dans
le sens antihoraire pour procéder à
l’ouverture de la porte.
Step 3 Place the cold handgrip around
the lock cylinder over the door.
Step 4 Rotate the cold handgrip
counterclockwise to unlock the door.
RETIRER LA PORTE REMOVE THE DOOR

INSTALLATION
Step 5 Open the door at 90°.
Step 6 Locate the spring at the
bottom of the door near the rotation
point. Disengage the spring by moving
it backward then up and front.
Étape 5 Ouvrir la porte à 90°.
Étape 6 Localiser le ressort au bas
de la porte près de l’axe de rotation.
Désengager le ressort en poussant
vers le fond et en le remontant vers
l’avant.
Étape 7 Lentement, soulever légèrement
la porte pour la sortir de ses gonds.
Étape 8 Déposer la porte à un endroit
où elle ne sera pas abîmée. Attention à la
peinture de la porte.
Step 7 Slowly and lightly lift the door
to take it off its hinges.
Step 8 Carefully put the door aside
where it won’t be damaged. Be careful
not to damage the paint.

Step 11 Screw back starting with the
ones at the bottom.
Step 12 Unite the frame and the
convection with both screws inside the
frame, at the top.

Étape 11 Replacer les 4 vis en
commençant par celles du bas.
Étape 12 Solidariser la convection et le
cadre grâce aux deux vis dans le haut du
cadre.
Painting on frame is fragile.La peinture du cadre est fragile.

Step 9 Remove all four screws provided
to hold the frame and put them aside with
the door.
Step 10 Place the thin edge frame in
front of the fireplace. Align all four holes
on the frame with the holes of the screws
previously removed.
Étape 9 Retirer les 4 vis prévues pour
tenir les cadres et les mettre de côté
avec la porte.
Étape 10 Positionner le cadre fin par-
devant le foyer en alignant les 4 trous
du cadre avec les trous de vis retirées
précédemment.

NOTE
Utiliser le caisson d’isolation (16-Z) ou
la charpente pour fixer les matériaux
de finition. Ne pas visser dans le foyer.

NOTE
Do not affix anything onto the
fireplace. The insulated shell (16-Z)
and wall framing can be use to
affix the wall finishings.

Étape 13 Découper et poser le
panneau de fibrociment en respectant
les indications de la notice d’installation
et finir le mur autour du cadre avec des
cornières de finition.
Étape 14 Terminer la finition avec du
plâtre. Si désiré, poser un parement mural
sur le fibrociment. Le parement mural doit
être non combustible.
Step 13 Cut the cement board according
to the requirements in the installation
manual. Use metal trims to finish the wall
around the frame.
Step 14 Complete the installation with
plaster. Wall finishing can be place over
the cement board and must be non
combustible.
Étape 15 Remettre la porte sur le foyer
en entrant les deux gonds dans les trous.
Étape 16 Replacer le ressort pour
réactiver le mécanisme et fermer la porte.
Step 15 Replace the door on its hinges.
Step 16 Replace the spring to reactivate
the mecanism then close the door.
